Europe gives you 1-2 thin napkins per meal ordered. Not really practical if your meal contains a saucy burger. Don't expect napkin dispensers out in the open where you grab as much as you want. It doesn't work that way here. As a traveler, remember to always carry tissue/napkins. Also, if you're from the U.S., don't expect free refills on soda. That's not customary here either. This location does have a restroom but you must enter a code to access it, so don't toss your receipt. The code is on the receipt. Very busy location. Lots of tourists. Order via kiosk. Your order number will be displayed overhead when it's ready and it will also be called out by the clerk in both Italian and English.

They have an abundance of Neapolitan favorites, including roasted chicken and potatoes, pastas, panino Napolitano, salsiccia e friarielli (sausage and broccoli rabe), polpette (meatballs), cotolette Milanese (breaded cutlet), and pizza fritta (fried pizza) just to name a few as well as contorni (vegetables) and dolci (sweets) to die for. We ordered two giant meatballs (polpette), a fried pizza (pizza frita), an order of salsiccia e friarielli, and a side of peppers, coming to just €10.50, eating like kings. The food is fresh and the service friendly and fast. If you are in or near Vomero, La Padella should not be missed as they are just a few blocks north of Stazione Medaglie D'Oro. You will not eat better at anywhere near the price. The only negative is that they are closed on Tuesdays. CombatCritic Gives La Padella 9 Bombs Out Of 10 ... More Bombs Are Better!

We got the Philadelphia with mushrooms and sweet peppers, and the bread was actually way better than anything I've found in the city of the sandwich's birth. We took our sandwiches to go, which was our only mistake because the fries didn't travel well and got cold and hard pretty fast. Our server was very gracious, spoke English well, and was happy when we tried to ask for a few things in our pretty terrible Italian. It's definitely made for take away (da portare!), but there are about 6 seats inside and maybe 10 outside. Lots of sauce choices to choose from, as well as your standard ketchup and mayo, if you want to be even less adventurous than you already are by not trying local food while you're here.

The thing that attracted me to the fast-casual Panamar was the thing I seemed unable to find anywhere else in the city of Naples: meal-sized salads. Elsewhere in town I landed some meal-sized salads (always featuring tuna) but what Panamar served was consistently different and better. Rather than skewing Italian, they seemed more Greek-leaning, but they were inventive and tasty where the salads elsewhere were not. The Mazzancolle (10 euro) featured tempura prawns, mango, avocado, and sweet and sour onion in a yogurt-lime sauce. This salad was both well-priced and delicious. Ditto for the Salmone (also 10 euro) which featured a healthy dose of sashimi salmon for that low price point. The salad less loved than the above two was the Baccala, a mix of cod, potato salad, green olives, fried capers, and more. This salad was less greens, more potato, and missed the mark for someone desiring greens but if you're seeking potatoes it's a win. Located in the Vomero district, Panamar will creatively satisfy your desire for something other than Italian fare.
