Awesome music (76 Janes), service was quick, and the food ways great! Would give 100/100 if I could!

My friends and I went to Tavern Pizza for trivia. This is the first time we had been there. Unfortunately, it wasn't what we hoped for. I'll start with the one positive because I like to write positive reviews. This review is me being generous. This is purely my opinion after my experience. Unfortunately, the trivia company didn't show up. However, one of the employees stepped up and created a great name that tune game. She did a great job at it and everyone enjoyed it. The manager kept apologizing and thanked everyone for their patience which was very nice. Wish he had gotten his staff to be more friendly and helpful. Now to the points that aren't as positive. The restaurant was full because people wanted to come for trivia. The male server who seated us wouldn't give us a table even though we said we were going to eat and do trivia. That was annoying and frustrating. They only had two servers to care for the whole restaurant which was ridiculous. Our server was impossible to find and short with us most times. We managed to get some of the drink orders in before happy hour was over but missed others because she was nowhere to be found. My friend tried to get a drink at the bar in time but the bartender refused. When we got the drinks they weren't that good. Thankfully some of them were happy hour pricing or we would have been really mad. My friend and I shared the Chicago style deep dish which left a lot to be desired. The sauce was good but it was burnt and tough to eat. My other friend got the personal pineapple pizza and she enjoyed it. It's too bad it was such a negative experience because my friends and I love trivia and were trying to find new places to go in the North Hills to play. read more

Great if you're just trying to have some fun over some food. The pizza isn't mind blowing but it's still pretty good. The staff is pretty friendly as well. The best part of this place is the activities and connection. Great for locals trying to connect and people just wanting to hang out and have some food. Good food, great community. read more

I came to hear the live music. It appears that the owner is celebrating one year of new ownership. The music was excellent and I had a fun time. The prices were very reasonable and the servers were very friendly and attentive. There is ample parking just on the street. read more

Extremely unprofessional experience. Was there on 2/5, staff was extremely friendly for most of the night. Watched some live Trivia with a great host. Pizza was hot, things seemed to be going well. Then the ambiance changed in a dime. The manager, maybe the owner, came out of the back and started being very aggressive towards to staff. Steeping into employees personal space and getting in their face. I think I even heard him threaten to chokeslam someone. Will not be bringing family back to this establishment. read more

Super nice place and great prices!!! The bbq pizza and pickle chips were really good and our bill only came to $20.33!

So I'm going to start off with the pizza because I'm pretty sure I've eaten more pizzas here than most I'm going to estimate at around 30 plus.... I typically get pepperoni and it is always fresh and delicious and even tastes good the next day. The owner and literally everyone that works here is great. Friendly is an understatement. I would be depressed if they ever closed. If you've ever had a bad experience here I assure you it was a fluke. read more

Ordered a white pizza from them and it was outrageously delicious. BEST I've ever had....it arrived hot and fresh. Driver was extremely courteous. I accidentially ordered it for take out when I meant delivery and I called them after I placed the order and realized my error....they were kind enough to help me out and deliver during the dinner hour which was probably a pain in the neck on their end, however, they were cheerful and courteous on the phone and within 30 minutes we were enjoying the best pizza we've had in ages. First time visit since I was dealing with a power outage. Pizza tasted fine, liked the style of pepperoni. I was not happy though finding both on top and under the pizza small hairs. I'm happy the manager did remake the food and did so quickly but might be a while for a return visit due to the multiple hairs. read more

Pizza is always something to write home about and I love this place. The fries are homemade and delicious! Great atmosphere, Great people !

My friend and I were turned away this evening due to my friend's service dog. On arrival we were greeted by the owner Dan who challenged my friend about his dog. My friend tried to talk to the owner but he was accused of being aggressive. The owner told us that he didn't know the regulations about service dogs and was "looking to us for guidance". He would not let my friend who owns the dog speak. The owner mentioned not knowing what would happen if someone from the Health Dept. were to come in. He also told us that it was "Trivia Night and it would be busy". He was informed by us that we had dined at his establishment in the 6 months since he took ownership and had not had a problem. His reply: " I wasn't here". Rather than make a scene we chose to eat elsewhere. We will be looking into educating the owner about service dogs. His staff knows more about allowing service dogs into a restaurant than he does based on our prior experience there. read more

!!!!!Horrible Service!!!!! First the owner is a RACIST.. let's start there. My fiancé ordered food from this establishment tonight we ordered a large pizza whole pepperoni half pineapple. The food was cold This pizza was not cut in correct pieces all the pizza had pineapple except 3 pizzas. We had to place the pizza in the oven for 5-10 mins and after the bottom was still soggy. We ordered 6 hot wings they were not well done (like we requested. ) and 6 garlic hot wings they were not cooked to our request of well done. They were very very soggy. We tossed mine in the air fryer to try and crunch them up and by the time they were finished I just couldn't eat them I was grossed out by how undone and soggy they were Even heating them I couldn't do it. So we decided to return the food. We returned the food because we shouldn't have to come home and cook something we paid for that should have been cooked by the establishment. When we arrive I walked in and talked to a cashier about the issues of the food. The man I had the altercation with was the OWNER. He came over and said " I'm not disputing anything you said but whats wrong with the food" I told him how I had to reheat/ recook the food we had. He proceeded to say next time "DONT DO THAT" don't cook the food bring it back. He showed me the "receipt" that says the wings (well done) I said I made the wings look well done they did not come like this. So you really going to tell someone to not reheat something they received cold to try and eat what they paid for?! He kept repeating himself. I said I'm not trying to argue or go back and forth all I want is a refund I'll leave and we will not come back to your establishment. He said oh yeah I will make sure you never step foot back in here ever again!! I said I promise we will not be back. He then stoped from giving me a refund and said I'm not obligated to give you a refund. I'm confused because this is not how you treat someone who came to your establishment and spent money here and the food wasn't cooked the way it was requested and we wanna bring the food back! He said I'll keep the money & pizza and you can leave. I said I'm not leaving without a refund. He said you can go, I proceeded call the cops he said go ahead and do it. I left the establishment and waited until the cops showed up told them what happened and they went inside. Babe can see from the window that the owner was smiling and laughing while talking to the cops while 2 women who work there were speaking about it to customers at the bar about us as if the matter was funny. We were outside for about 10 mins in the rain while the cops tried to see if they can get out refund. GETTING RAINED ON!!!! I'm not sure what the conversation was between them but the officer did give us our refund back. He's stated if the owner didn't refund it would be a civil issue and I was ready to call the court house Monday morning! We did not deserve to be treated that way and this was the 1st and Last time we will ever step foot in there but we didn't plan on EVER going back regardless. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up out of business. read more
