Jack Rose totally disappointed us. I ordered the filet mignon medium rare. It was very rare in the middle and very fatty. It also has a smoke flavor that after a few bites was over powering. On a scale of 10 I'd give it a 2. My husband ordered the New York strip. More than half was fatty and had some hard tendons or something in it. He gave it a 1. Server never asked us what we thought or checked in on us until we were running the credit card. We said our steaks were terrible and he did offer to find out about a discount- but too late we were anxious to just leave after waiting 20 minute for the check. $100 for terrible steaks. If we give the place a second chance, we'll stick to a basic burger. read more

This was my first time eating at Tavern 180. Service was great. We went and sat on the patio for a Friday lunch. Of everything we ordered the french dip was the best, absolutely fantastic. Chips and dip was pretty good - would probably order again but wish the chips were more crisp. The grilled chicken club was also really good - on ty would have been better with fresher lettuce and tomato. Brussels sprouts I wanted to love but they had some kind of glaze on them that was just overpowering. Overall great experience and good food. We will definitely come back. read more

When we walked in for brunch we were seated immediately but it took about 10 minutes until we were actually greeted by our server. Tavern 180 is one of the best restaurants in Sioux Falls. The service is really good, and the menu changes with the seasons. Sioux Falls has a few fine dinning options, and I would consider Tavern 180 fine dinning for midwest standards. It would be very comfortable for a first date or a family get together. Had lunch here with a friend. Cute little place, cozy decor and really nice staff. We both had salads, I added shrimp and my friend added salmon. The salads were fresh and very good. I ordered a soda and my friend had water. While it was a nice experience, we both felt the prices were too high, especially for lunch. Our combined bill was just over $50 - with tip $60. $30 per person for a salad - a good salad - but a salad! No bread came with the salads, and my friend drank water. Wow. Had an absolutely perfect birthday dinner tonight with two friends. First time visiting and happened to come during happy hour. The apps we had wanted to try were on the list for $3 off. Service was outstanding, our friends drinking soda and water never got below half a glass before a new glass was whisked in its place. Great recommendations from the server as well. My wagyu hanging tenderloin market price was $45 today but I had actually expected to pay more. The level of tenderness and flavors was just outstanding. Best steak I have had in years! Was cooked to a true medium rare as requested. Very much enjoyed the jalapeño bacon brussels sprouts as well. Lightly charred with what I think was some of the bacon fat drizzled on top that came together quite well. Had a bite of my wife's parmesan crusted chicken that was top notch as well. Place was very stylish and comfortable, wall of bottles on the bar was very impressive as well. If you have a guest that wanted a certain top shelf liquor they wouldn't be left wanting. A very high quality restaurant with some more premium options available but surprisingly some of their signature cocktails were 3-5 dollars less than I would expect to pay downtown so there is a balance. Such a great place! Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal and the entire staff chipped in to help when needed. I had the salmon and it was so good and cooked exactly how I asked. We got burgers and a chicken dish. My favorite was the baked potato, it was crispy and loaded with toppings. If you close at 9:00 pm....you don't shut off the tvs at 8:30 and put up all of the chairs and turn the lights on full blast when patrons or either waiting for their food or still eating their food...and in the middle of the Vikings game. If you have patrons spending money...you wait until your patrons leave before doing your closing duties. Prices have been raised to a high-end steakhouse level...which Tavern 180 is definitely not. Be the high-end bar with high-end food that you are. $44 for a fillet?....really? You are not a high-end steakhouse...which we witnessed by the closing procedures tonight. New place posting as I'm waiting for the food. Bar was backed up because it was busy but for the town not bad for the town. Drinks were good I had a glorified old fashion my wife had some mango lime thinner which both were very good. First food experience with the food was a ahi tuna sushi appetizer. Not a fan myself but our friends said it was overcooked. I don't know apparently they want the fish to swim in their mouth because I tried it and I thought it was pretty rare, but again not a fan. Waitress did a good job checking on us and typical Midwesterner, "everything's great." Next I had was the simple side salad which took quite awhile very good but it should be hard to mess up a salad, do able for sure though. (Wine must be good our friend just ordered another glass) Food just came.. almost still waiting on mine must take a long tine to cook medium rare steak wife was half done before I got mine. Steak was great! Usually I can make a bettter one at home but I wouldn't able able to touch this. Around the tabLe salad was ok nothing soecial Salmon was very good Wagyu burger good but nothing phenomenal. We had not eaten here since pre-Covid. It was excellent then. And I'm happy to say it's excellent now. We enjoyed the fish and chips. Not a typical meal for me, I like to eat healthy, but it's such thick flakey, pieces of fish, and not greasy at all, you can't go wrong. The fries/chips come with it, and are some of the best I've had, loaded with yummy sea salt. I got green beans for a side, which are really more like haricot verts (if you like your green beans thin and tender). I had a cucumber gin spritzer, which was delicious, but just a bit sweet for me. They were quick to take it and enhance it so it wasn't quite as sweet. That's what I mean by great service. Kenny was our server and was a real pro. He was training Alex, for her first day, she was doing great. And all the flowers on the patio, and the succulents on the table, make this a must visit in my opinion. read more

They changed their status to "accepting orders", but after the driver showed up there to pick up food they told him they are now too busy to fill the order. I've already paid for my food, paid fees through the app, and tipped the driver. Bad customer service. read more

When handed our bill this evening we noticed a $3.25 non cash fee. If we paid with cash our bill was $81.20. If we paid with CC our total was $84.45. We were paying with a USAA debit card so there shouldn't have been a fee. According to Visa's policy it is never allowed to charge a "transaction fee" when paying with a debit card or pre-paid debit card. This is an illegal practice and the general public is mostly unaware of these illegal charges. We filed a complaint with the Visa corporation and hopefully they will take action against or educate this business owner that they cannot charge a transaction fee when a customer pays with a debit card. The manager came over to our table and offered to give us the owners name to contact them directly, rather than deduct the illegal fee from our bill. Lame! Some businesses comply with Visa rules. Tavern 180 does not. The general public needs to push back and challenge businesses who charge fees on debit cards. IT IS ILLEGAL! PERIOD. read more

Based on recommendations we had to give it a try. Walked in to extremely friendly staff and were seated immediately. Unfortunately we left shortly after because only a few of the prices were on the menu and they relied on MKT (current market price). A ribeye we $50 which was too much for us. I'm sure it was set to be a great meal but it would have been nice to know pricing prior to going in but not their fault I suppose as the market in everything is ever changing in the world we currently live in. read more

We went here for a work outing. I had the salmon and it was good but pricey. My husband had the ribeye ordered medium rare and it came out well done and very tough and was very expensive. This has been out go-to neighborhood restaurant/bar for over a year. However in the last few months, the service has declined, the atmosphere has changed, the music has gotten louder and louder. The food has not been up the the standard we have grown used to. I think there has been a big turnover in staff and management and probably the chef. Just not hitting it like they used to. I'm here from Denver so paying $15+ for an appetizer doesn't bother me, if it's of quality. Also ordered ahi nachos. Covered with wasabi & diced tomatoes & about 2 pieces of tuna. The server apologized and credited the sliders, which was nice- I didn't mind paying for them just so I could let people know the status of this place & to save their money.
