Great food and drinks. It was slow, only four patrons in the whole place. We had excellent service.

New York Strip was amazing and loved the Bacon Blue Burger. Definitely will eat here again when in the area.

Sorta odd that it is away…read morefrom downtown and out in the shopping suburbs but that also means the clientele is just not dominated by suits and the rest of us can relish the fine service and food. When I visit a classic western steakhouse, I do NOT want the frills of the east. Please. But I do want a western theme interior, friendly faces and service, and generous servings of awesome food. Morrie's delivers on every level. What a great experience! First I liked the family portraits when you walked in. Like in the Big Easy, you know that means that here's a place that takes pride in tradition. Prompt and friendly service came next--GREAT classic old fashioneds. Appetizers, off the charts. We thought the Onion Rings were among the best we have ever had. Brussels sprouts, the same. So impressive. The New York strip--certainly among the top five of all time for me. Do add the onions and peppers, just another layer of great flavor. What is really wonderful is that the beef is locally sourced, from ranches in Nebraska and South Dakota. The pride of local markets really comes through, and makes. A. Difference. Sides? Yes. The root veggies are excellent but always order the chorizo hash browns. They are rich and thankfully they have a bit of a kick. They are filling--but hey box what's left and have for breakfast the next morning. My western trips will now include an overnight at Sioux Falls--that's how special Morrie's is.

I ordered the walleye, and it was very average--nothing memorable or worth the price. It felt like a run-of-the-mill dish that I could get at many other restaurants. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was a strong sewer/trap smell near the entrance, which wasn't the best first impression. While the odor didn't seem to carry throughout the entire restaurant, it was noticeable enough to stand out. The tap beer was also served much warmer than expected, which was disappointing for a steakhouse of this caliber. Overall, the service was the highlight of the evening, but the food, warm beer, and less-than-ideal first impression left us underwhelmed and feeling that the experience didn't justify the price.

Well, look no further. This no-frills steakhouse specializes in dry aged beef, is James Beard award winning, has great cocktails, and still serves you a relish tray while you wait for your meal. For those of you under the age of 35, a relish tray, often consisted of carrots, celery, pickles, and cubed cheddar cheese like this one. They also will bring you some bread and butter if you would like. In my opinion, you should definitely opt for the tenderloin, but I'm not sure there is a bad steak option on the menu. They also have seafood and even sandwich sandwiches including a burger so there's something for everyone! It's family friendly and although the decor will remind you of your grandma's house, no grandparent I have ever met could put out steaks like this. Visit the ice cream capital of the world and make sure to save room for a steak!

A nice place. Service was some of the best I've ever had. Food was solid, but not the best. I will…read moresay that I think it is as good as I expected it to be, but I always hope it'll be better thus I am not leaving a 5-star review. Fried pickles spears with the rock n roll sauce were great. I wouldn't have ordered these except my server recommended them out of all the apps, so I went with that. Fried things at places like this usually lack flavor and are just salty, fried bar food. These had some kick. The rock n roll sauce was like a Mayo with Frito's Chili Cheese Twists, so they were yummy. Tilapia on wild rice was ok, but it's tilapia, so how amazing can it be, right? Broccoli wasn't too over cooked and it still had a healthy green color, so I was happy with that. And the fries were a tad greasy, but they came out hot and crunchy. I think if they let the oil drain off them a bit more under a heat lamp, they'd hold their crispness a bit longer. Oh, and it was an entire plate of fries, so portions were generous. Lastly, everything was served very quickly. The place wasn't super-busy, but it wasn't dead and I was happy about the timeliness. I ordered an app first then placed an order for my entree after munching on that. And I was out done in 45 minutes. Granted, I was eating alone, but still. If you enjoy meat, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. I am a pescatarian (mostly vegetarian) and I have a sneaking suspicion that their beef and chicken options have much more developed flavors.
