First time coming to Marbella's for a celebration! My partners birthday AND fire academy graduation. Open table asks what we are celebrating but there was nothing congratulatory or special of our day there from our waitress. One gentleman Graham welcomed us and did give special love, but he was just our greeter. He even came by walking by after our meal and checked in, he was the best! Our waitress was nice but not the most helpful on wine selections. I wish there was a wine sommelier who could have helped me further on decisions, I ended up with a wine I didn't enjoy unfortunately. I have a gluten allergy and I am so pleased by all the great food choices and allergy flag. For Friday at 6, I wanted the lamb risotto but it was sold out, I ended with the seafood risotto. That was very delicious; had one broken scallop, 3 shrimp and a decent amount of mussels. I think they could have added another scallop and shrimp but so be it. I needed some lemon and red pepper flakes to flavor it up but our waitress took FOREVER to even check on our first bites. I was waving at bussers and no one came by, after about 10-15 min my partner stopped her. My partners and mother's food were very delicious and they were happy with their meals! Brunch review: We celebrated a belated Mother's Day here back in May for the Saturday brunch offering. Food was tasty, service was timely and nice and having a DJ was a fun and hip twist that made the environment lively. We ordered the meatball appetizer and the meat charcuterie board. For our mains we had the squid ink pasta and the eggplant parmigiana Food was amazing. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Only issue was their vent hood had stopped working so the restaurant was full of smoke. They made the decision to stop cooking meat or anything grilled so we're not able to try any of that. The smoke was too much for my wife, she couldn't eat and didn't enjoy her food very much after a while. Service was great, our waitress was so nice, very attentive and friendly. When I went with a reservation we didn't get seated for 30 minutes. We then also didn't get our appetizer until an hour after being seated. This place is BUSY! Despite the long wait I will say that it is totally worth the wait. There was not 1 dish that we had that wasn't a hit at our table. Cocktail: NIENTE NOCI was the perfect holiday in a cup drink. Appetizer: The FIGURA E BURRATA CROSTINI was a great option for everyone and then we shared a pizza, because we just had to try it! We had the BERETTA pizza which had 3 different types of meat and would highly recommend trying. Entree: I had the TAGLIATELLE AL BURRO which had a some spicy flavor to it that I really enjoyed. Definitely worth the price tag! My friend and I were craving Italian so we decided to give Maribella a try. We noticed it was fine dining and were ready to see if it stood up to its hype. Upon arriving, we were asked if we had a reservation-- we did. The restaurant has an Italian rustic yet modern style to it. We were promptly seated and assigned a friendly server. We had previously already has cocktails, so we were only there for food and that's what we ordered. I ordered the Nero pasta which is a squid ink pasta, drenched in a creamy lemon-garlic sauce, topped with seared scallions and some cherry tomatoes. The whole dish came together and wow, it was delicious. I believe this has been the best pasta dish I've ever had, well worth the $40 price tag on this. I had left overs for the next day and it was still just as good. My friend ordered the risotto de mare, seafood risotto and her dish was also delicious and was absolutely satisfied. I am surprised at the overall rating for Maribella I see from fellow Yelpersz. Six of us dined here and it was a wonderful experience. We tried a few items as appetizers - 2 risottos and 3 salads - all of it was delicious and ample portions. For mains we had the beef rib, salmon, chicken, NY strip and the seafood risotto. The beef rib was extremely tender and tasty. The salmon was a home run. The steak with pepper sauce was absolutely delightful. The seafood risotto was a large portion and over the top yummy. The only 'issue' was the length of time to get our food; we were at the restaurant for 2 hours and we were not trying to draw it out because we had a 5 year old in the group. Another suggestion - great wine by the glass list but I opine the pour should be a little heftier. The service was exemplary. Parking was easy. Prices were appropriate. read more

Our server was new to his role, but clearly well-trained already, and was friendly, helpful and consistent without being overly present. We visited on two separate occasions. On the first visit, we had the gnocchi e vongole, Figura e burrata crostini, bisteca di maiale, and risotto di mare, and a chocolate panna cotta. On the second visit, we had the calamari fritti. the caprese salad, the cesare salad, the braciola with pomme fritte, and the cioppino along with a tiramisu, and a bongo. First Visit: Gnocchi e Vongole: The Gnocchi e Vongole were a delicate dance of pillowy gnocchi and tender clams, bathed in a light, flavorful white wine sauce. The dish showcased a commendable balance of textures and a nuanced seafood essence. Figura e Burrata Crostini: The Figura e Burrata Crostini demonstrated an inspired combination of sweet figs and creamy burrata atop perfectly toasted bread. The interplay of flavors was delightful, making it a standout appetizer that left a lasting impression. Bistecca di Maiale: The Bistecca di Maiale, a pork steak, was expertly cooked to perfection, maintaining a juicy interior and a caramelized exterior. However, I disliked having to de-shell all of the seafood and would have preferred to have been asked if I wanted to have them without the shells. The selection of desserts was rather heavy and sweet, and a few lighter desserts such as a sorbet or fruit tart would be welcome. I made a yelp account just to leave this review: I've been around the globe, and to almost every state in this country. This place is my absolute favorite. It was our first time in SD, and I am celiac so I was looking for good gluten free spots. We found this spot, and their menu looked fantastic online. We made an early reservation, and we walked in and were immediately greeted, sat, and our waitress Brittany (Brittney?) was so helpful and friendly. She went above and beyond the whole time and gave us a great dining experience. Now the food!!! (And cocktails!): We had a concert to play in a couple hours so I didn't get to eat everything I wanted to but we had: ARANCINI - these were gluten free rice-based fritter type appetizers with a creamy mushroom prosciutto inside. I was going to order seconds of this when THE GLUTEN FREE BREAD - this is the best gluten free bread I've ever had in my 10 years of being celiac I have tried ALL of them. They make this in house, and even let me but me a loaf to take home when I asked. I made it as soon as we finished our set (it needs special preparation which they printed up instructions for me) THE COCKTAILS: we had the BUON GIORNO SIGARETTA (a mezcal based cocktail with Demerara and served with a smoking cinnamon-stick sigaretta) It was so smooth, just sweet enough, and was a great thing to share sips of with my drummer. We also had 2 LIMONCELLO SPRITZES, which were so refreshing, again - just sweet enough, and a great palate cleanser for our entrees. ENTREES: I had the NEW YORK STRIP -- cooked perfect medium rare, with broccolini and sliced carrots on the side - also both perfectly cooked. My Drummer had the BIANCA PASTA -- this is like a ...refreshing pasta?! It's a lemon-garlic based cream sauce with a generous amount of legit parmigiano reggiano (the REAL aged Parmesan cheese) It is unheard of to eat pasta and then go play a concert but this food was magical and we had an epic night feeling great. DESSERT: We were getting close to having to leave for our sound check, but the place was a VIBE and we were loving the food so much we had to order a dessert and get as full of a menu experience as we could We ordered the flourless chocolate cake, which was so rich and delicious. It was creamy (not like torte-style, but kind of like a firm mousse-style. It was topped with a freshly made thicccc whipped cream, and also had this super thin toffee(?) bottom layer, that made every bite the perfect ratio of cream, chocolate, and toffee. PRICE; For that dining experience, it cost us less than HALF of what NV OR CA costs -- for anything even close to that experience-- and that is with large tip included for them. Very loud and crowded on the weekend for dinner. We made a reservation for 5 people the day before and could only get 8:15pm. I think they over book themselves based on how long between table flips, because we arrived promptly, but they wouldn't seat us until about 8:35pm and tried putting us at a four-top with an extra chair squeezed in because all their 5 tops were still eating. We instead sat in the bar area at six bar stools. Not terribly comfortable but better than being cramped. Their custom cocktails and appetizers were REALLY good. Our table's consensus on the entrees were pretty much the same: large portions, cooked perfectly, but needed some seasoning work. Most of the dishes were bland, but there were a couple that one element of a sauce overpowered the rest. The hostess and server (Sammi H) were top notch. The service here is fantastic the restaurant is beautiful! I wasn't overly impressed with any of the pasta dishes that we ordered. I think they need to work on their sauces. The Bolognese sauce was a bit bitter. The pesto pasta wasn't my favorite. We also ordered a pizza, it was really good! I was hoping for it to be similar to Lydia's in downtown Kansas City that also makes homemade pasta with simple ingredients. We wanted to like this place so much; we went in the first few months it was open so trying to give them some grace. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is friendly. We ordered a pizza and two entrees. The pizza dough was entirely too thick to the style of pizza they were attempting. Way too chewy; hoping that as the staff gets more trained that it will improve. The Osso Buco tasted like it came out of a crockpot from someone's home but not in a good way. Overall we would rather visit R Wine Bar for Italian food at this point then return to this concept. read more

Finally, we have an exquisite Italian restaurant in Sioux Falls. We entered and were greeted by the Maribella hosts. Riccardo the owner sat us and was extremely polite and friendly. Our sever was very attentive and our waters were always full. I ordered the caprese and the branzino. The caprese was delicious and the branzino was the best fish I've ever had. Other people in my party ordered a margarita pizza. Which looked delicious. We then ordered dessert, in which we had the bongo, tiramisu, and the affagoto. They were all delicious and the espresso shot in the affagoto was amazing. This is one of the best if not the best restaurants in Sioux Falls and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal. read more

They waitress was the kindest regarding celiac disease and helping me go through the menu showing me what is / isn't safe and also telling the chef about my allergy.
