They offered to come out between scheduled calls (which I thought was awesome), but I told them it wasn't an emergency -- I just wanted an opinion from an expert. They scheduled an appointment for two days later, and the tech (Glen) arrived on time. He was friendly and professional and went to work studying all the pumps in the basement, as well as the pump in the septic system. Now he absolutely could have told me they all needed to be replaced immediately and I would have cut a check. Instead, he assured me they're all in working order and in good shape. As this was my first appointment, he also took a look at my other equipment (on demand water heater, washer hookup, main water line, toilets, faucets, and furnace), and gave me a solid walk-through, providing some thoughts on what I should be looking at over the next year or so. Even though nothing was wrong with my equipment, I happily signed the check for the visit. I have piece of mind and have found my plumbing and heating company.

However, what you get compared to what you hope or expect can be way over or under. Expectations and hopes are limitless. In this case, the service was way more than I expected. In fact I can not imagine anything they could have done better. On top of all that, the price was less than a quote I got from my previous HVAC guy and Local HVAC was able to respond faster on a failed A/C system in 90 degree weather.

Where do I start? In mid-June of 2026 both our upstairs and downstairs A/C systems were completely dead. Bob Fleming came to the rescue in a big way! It was H-O-T hot! And it was very uncomfortable to sleep upstairs with no A/C. We decided to install a SEER20 Bosch 36k BTU Bosch heat pump A/C system, which supplies both A/C and Heat at a cost effective rate. It was a big project that also required replacing the air handler in the attic. Since this wasn't going to happen overnight, Bob went out of his way and bought 3 new window AC units for us to use upstairs (which he installed) until the work was completed. He didn't charge us a penny for these. He let us borrow them for free! That bridged the gap perfectly. The new A/C system works perfectly! It's quiet, efficient, and very professionally installed, along with a smart Ecobee thermostat that I quite like. The heat pump also supplies heat during the winter. Bob smartly set it up so that it automatically uses the heat pump when the outside temperature gets down to as low as 35F. If the outside temp goes below 35F, then the energy source automatically transitions to our pre-existing natural gas system. Supposedly that's the sweet spot to use both systems as effectively and cost-conscious as possible. It's brilliant! Bob also reinstalled our old A/C lines that went to three different mini-split systems on the first floor. He professionally pressure tested everything, and it's all working perfectly. Bob was so polite, asking whether it was okay to work past a certain hour as he wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible, while also respecting our family's privacy. He cleaned all of his work up leaving nothing behind. That summer, I felt in a strange way that Bob became an extension of our family. He was so polite to all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed having him around the house, and completely trusted him. I am so fortunate to have found RLF Heating & Cooling. His reviews were fantastic. The job was completed as expected although several mistakes were made and not corrected. They seemed to be rushed at the end of the job to move on to the next job. The major issue I had with this company is that they were very unhelpful with securing rebates from the Mass Save program. They were unwilling to supply the equipment or paperwork required to qualify for the rebates. So, if you are planning to work through the Mass Save programs I would recommend against using Bourque for your job.

My family spent an enormous amount of $ purchasing four Mitsubishi AC units from Bourque. We did…read morenot pay for a maintenance plan on them as we typically do not buy these types of plans. When we needed service on the units, Bourque promptly told us they couldn't help us at all, but could have if we had a maintenance contract. I fully understand giving preference to maintenance contract customers, but to tell us they couldn't help us at all after the amount of $ we spent with them, is completely unacceptable. Bottom Line: I do not recommend working with this company as, in order to apparently get any service with them, you need to spend even more money on a service contract. If I spend money on something, I accept great service levels (even if I have to pay out of pocket for them). I recommend taking your business elsewhere.
