They also did a lunch menu which was 2 courses for £7.90 or 3 for £9.90, which was also appealing. The restaurant is quite small inside. There's Italian music playing and the atmosphere was nice, and the staff who took our order and brought out the food were lovely. But the food wasn't overly impressive. To start with I had the caprese salad, which is impossible to do wrong and tasted fine, although the plate was dusted with what I think was paprika, which I found odd. For my main course I had carbonara, and although it was a lunch menu, the portion was tiny and left me hungry, even though I've tasted much better carbonaras. That plate was also dusted, as was Colin's bolognese, so I think they do it just for effect but it doesn't really add anything and looks a but silly. The food was fine. It's a decent place for lunch, but their dinner prices looked a bit pricey for the quality of food they were producing. I'd probably come back for lunch but not much else.

I had the Fillet Ciao Italia (which is essentially a fillet beef stroganoff) and my BF had the lasagne. Both were superb. The home made cheesecake is genuinely the best I've ever tried! I had pudding envy, as I'd gone for a sundae...which was great...but the cheesecake tasted incredible! The staff were friendly and the prices were fairly reasonable given the quality of the food (and the wine - I had a glass of house red. Delicious!) If you like Italian food then I'd definitely recommend a visit to Ciao Italia.

We received our starters at 748pm. Our main dinner did not come out until almost 9pm. No wait staff came to check on us. It felt like they were avoiding us. Our food came out piping hot, but tooooo much salt on everything. We packed most of it up and brought it home... I do not plan on coming back here again... my first bad food experience in Scotland.
