Buffet
Raven R.

This place has an upscale vibe with chic decor. Came here for their lunch buffet and at 18$/person, it was a pretty good price! The staff is lovely and refilled our water in a timely manner. The food is great and they have a variety of dishes. The samosas and veggie fritters are a good starter, with sweet and tangy tamarind sauce to pair. I enjoyed their chicken tikka masala, veggie korma, palak panner, and tandoori chicken the most. You can never go wrong with gulab jamun for dessert, though I do wish they have mango pudding. Still a fantastic meal. Great experience overall!

$18 yummy weekday lunch buffet (closed Tuesdays)

Really enjoyed their $18 lunch buffet! My faves are the chicken tandoori, garlic naan that I drown in classic chicken tikka masala and gulab jamun that I dip in rice pudding! soooo yummy! We will definitely return to try their dinner menu. Food served piping hot, refillable soda and friendly servers. Can't beat this lunch deal!

We enjoyed the lunch buffet - a very nice selection of entrees, sauces & desserts. Lunch comes with (garlic) naan. Good spice level. The restaurant decor is nice, too. We'll be back.

What a nice and beautifully chic Indian restaurant. Enjoyed the happy hour menu with both veg and non options. Loved their lahsuni gobi, crispy on the outside and well cooked and soft on the inside. Paneer tacos were delicious, but a bit dry for me. Paneer kabob was good. Our server, Dio, was kind to give me a sample of the Mango cart beer to taste, which was very good. Good service, food, and ambiance.

Had the pleasure of trying this place recently. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was quiet at first but as soon as 1pm hit, the crowd rushed in! The good was great! From the vegetarian options to the chicken and rice, desserts and palette cleansers On the way out, this place is a hidden gem! Situated in the back corner parking lot of Imperial and La Palma to the right of the Tesla building. The decor was so lovely! We enjoyed the velvet green seats and light fixtures. The food was delicious! The tiki masala was my favorite along with the garlic Naan and rice pudding. Will definitely be back soon!

Chilli pakora(mirchi bajji)

Ordered chilli pakora, and it tasted absolutely incredible--perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Chef Govind and his staff were super kind and accommodating in making it with genuine care. We truly felt their passion for food in every detail of the preparation and it shows how much they value the experience of the person enjoying it. The ambiance is top notch and all the items we tried(Lasuni gobi, egg biryani) tastes great! I'll definitely come back to try more.

This is a beautiful, intimate spot, and the buffet smelled amazing. In fairness, we just ordered a mango lassi to go because we were in a hurry, but we wanted SO BADLY to stay and eat. My wife and I visited last week on a rainy day just before lunch on our way to another appointment. (The lassi was excellent.) We used to come here often when it was Curry Out- and we lived close by- but this is the kind of restaurant I always wished it would be. We'll definitely be back.

My hubby put me in charge of finding a caterer for an upcoming event. His coworkers exgf's current bf loves this place so i decided to check it out. Definitely reminds me of orange curry, but the lentils clukd use more water. Samosas are cute and tiny but a bit spicy. I wish there were more appetizers. Service is top notch!!! Very attentive, had my water filled several times. I generally hate korma but the veggie karma here is very delicious. Love the music!! Upbeat, but relaxing. One star off because the food is TOO thick for me. The naan was thick, the pulses were dry. I would have loved to go for seconds.

We drove down from Riverside to try out this new restaurant for lunch. They opened up 6 months ago. This location used to be Masala Curry. They have lunch buffets for $18 from 11:30 am to 3pm, everyday except on Tuesday, because they are closed on that day. They serve menu items during dinner. The inside has changed from previous owner. Inside is a much cozier and fancier looking decor restaurant. They have a bar now that sells beer and wine. Lighting is dim and music is relaxing. It's a very chill vibe in here. We got greeted and seated right away. Service was good. There were two servers helping us. They kept cleaning up our dishes and refilling our water. There were about 3 other groups here. The buffet area was clean and food was fresh. The garlic naan was made to order so it was steaming hot but so good! Food choices during Sunday was pretty much your typical items that include chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, saag paneer, navratan korma, tandoori chicken, samosa, dal tadka, chana masala, kadhai paneer, gajar halwa, chicken biryani, and chicken sheet kabob. They only had rice pudding for dessert. I wished they had more dessert options. The total for 2 lunch buffets including tips was $49! We definitely would take a drive down here again for the buffet.

Goan Fish Curry

The food was amazing! The chicken and lamb were both incredibly tender and full of flavor. The restaurant also has a modern, classy atmosphere that made the experience even better. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Tatva, and I'll absolutely be coming back!

Best! Honestly we ordered different type of meat since we want to know the taste in each dishes and must say, we are pleased to choose this place! - The Bengali fish curry, 5star I like the curry and yes, the fish is fillet but! It's fresh and not fishy smell, the fragrant of it is just best! I ordered to make it spicy but it was not that spicy. And I have it for to go since the portion is quite big for me! The next day, also dinner time, I heat it and assure you it's still tasted best! - Lamb biryani, 5star Fragrant and it's totally different than other biryani that I had, the meat chunks were tender, juicy and once again! It's in a good portion! Pack the left overs as well and heat it up the next day, none changes! It's good as it is. - chicken tikka masala, 5star My kids love this and I agree with them, the chicken chunks were amazing and tender! My kids finish the butter naan with this dish, and as the other dish too, I packed the left over and it was still tasted good! We were served by Zach (hopefully I'm not wrong for the name) He was so attentive and kind. One thing though, it's a small romantic fine dining restaurant and it has a beautiful atmosphere and it's just felt so romantic, even with 3 hungry dinosaurs and insensitive husband..I feel the romance of this place! It's a date night type of place and bet the drink options are beautiful too, I didn't have any when we came since we plan to go somewhere after. Thank you! It's one of the beautiful restaurants that I've went to! The music is romantic, the belly is happy and these dinosaurs are calm too! Love it!

Here is my plate of samosas, various curry dishes, salad and lamb curry.

The food is always hot and fresh. The service is always helpful and very attentive to our needs. The restaurant during our lunch visit was quiet. Which made our experience more enjoyable. A great place to enjoy Indian cuisine. Will continue to eat at this restaurant.

Kabab Hi Kabab small platter
Morvarid A.

Tried a few things at Tarva and everything hit the spot. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, naan basket, the Kabab Hi Kabab small platter, and the murg malai boti. Every dish tasted fresh and high-quality -- rich flavors, tender meats, and the naan was perfect for scooping up all the sauces. The staff is friendly, and the interior design is very chic. Service was a bit on the slower side, but honestly the food is good enough that the wait feels justified. Overall, a great place when you want delicious, well-made Indian dishes in a stylish setting. I'll be back!

I think I had been here once before for takeout of something small, but never for their buffet. When we came in, it was frankly kind of hectic. I was warned over the phone when asking about the lunch buffet that they were hosting an event but were still open, meaning it would be crowded if we came in for lunch. It definitely was crowded, 70% of the restaurant was reserved for this party, leaving just a few tables near the buffet open. We had to wait a bit to be sat, which I don't think would've been typical on a normal day. We were offered to sit at an open table and just went to serve ourselves. The buffet was clean and looked hot, but several items were running low or completely out. They have some standard offerings like tikka masala, daal, and goat curry, as well as some more Himalayan-leaning dishes like the stir fried noodles. Now, some of these details might make it sound like a subpar experience for lunch. Even if it was, this buffet was only $14.99. That's essentially the price of a fast food meal anyways. Furthermore, whatever food we did have was very solid. Even having sat out for some time, it was evident that the food was seasoned and cooked very well. To me, many of their dishes tasted even better than some I've had à la carte at other restaurants. They also brought fresh baskets of garlic naan out during the meal. The staff working there even offered for us to help ourselves to the mango lassi that I believe was set up on the bar for the event that day. Even while busy, he was sure to help out restocking plates and refilling water when possible. For the price, I think this buffet is 100% worth the visit, and I'm sure it's even better on a normal day.

It was our first time here and it was exactly what I was craving, the chicken tikka masala was perfectly seasoned, not overly sweet, just balanced and flavorful. We were the first customers in, so everything tasted fresh. This Indian and Nepalese restaurant is known for authentic Himalayan flavors and fresh-to-order dishes. Popular items include momos (dumplings), garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and a variety of curries with plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and spicy options. Anita made the experience even better. Her warm, welcoming energy truly stood out. She even let me try homemade lemon pickle with naan, which felt so personal and thoughtful. Thank you, Anita beautiful energy & smile! Secret tip: ask for the dumplings during AYCE and they'll bring them out. Fresh food, family-like service, and comforting flavors. I'll be back.

So I figured I'd go give it a try: Upon walking in, you're greeted with this lovely low light ambiance, no bright overhead lights and it feels smooth, relaxed. Definitely the type of feeling I got when I entered, our host and server Guri was very kind in getting me sat down. The menu had a lot of options, it was neatly styled and a few things pointed out to me which I ordered below... The crispy Okra.....AMAZING. It wasn't heavy on oil, came with some 3 very contrasting dipping sauces which each proved itself, a minty one, tangy, and a more savory tasting dip with diced veggies. Definitely an immensely good starter and I'd order it a million times over. The paneer was rich, creamy, had sweet notes to it, and you can order in different spice levels up to 7. I went with a 4, I'll be back to go to a 5 to up the kick, always play it safe first time trying a new place. To flush the food down, the Mango Lassi is an absolute MUST HAVE, with the thick mango flavored yogurt drink, it tastes like heaven in a glass cup. I was super happy with Guri's service, he was attentive, liked to talk to us about the food and was very passionate for the food as well. I'll definitely be back for more!

It appears to be family run and there was no one to welcome us in or tell us where to sit or how to order for about 10 minutes so we seated ourselves. It didn't help that the goth daughter was extremely strange or introverted and non communicative. The owner and workers also didn't seem friendly to outsiders if you know what I mean. The seating arrangement is terrible as they set up for large tables (visitors appear to come in large sizes/families) and you get stuck behind the chairs due to poor spacing. Since there might not be many options, I think they receive very good business from Muslims and halal eaters. In terms of food, I don't think I liked it and it gave me extreme heartburn and I love spicy food. The popper/bread is too oily for me, they don't offer garlic naan for their buffets. Sadly they also did not include the spinach dish either. The offerings were mainly meat dishes which were just ok to me (I didn't really think it was BBQ as described, more like pan seared). The 3 items that I was good with were the saucy stewed beef, the BBQ seared chicken breast (although texture was strange on some), and the mango drink which had mango chunks and not the premade stuff that is really heavy. Would I come back? Likely not... unfortunately I didn't find anything that I would crave. I felt that it was more expensive than Indian food, perhaps the halal meat is more expensive? But at Indian buffets it's slightly cheaper or they offer things like champagne, and items that I prefer like garlic naan, more vegetables dishes, and curry. Maybe Pakistani isn't my jam?
