I like a tattoo parlor that smells like a doctor's office. Super clean. Friendly hustle and bustle of a tattoo parlor. I had a girl named Lee. She was no nonsense (how I like 'em) and was very helpful. We drew up my tat about 6 times before we got it just how I wanted it. She was super patient with me, very informative, and gentle. While I chose to get my tattoo in a very delicate area (the ribs) her touch was as light as a feather. For about 20 characters it took 45 minutes, and I didn't bleed. Lee even gave my pale, shaking ass a piece of gum afterwards. :) Its cash only, and as the sign says 'use the atm before you start', "we trust in god, all else pay cash." Super friendly staff who made my 5 hour experience a great one. **WORDS OF ADVICE*** pay attention. Make sure you've spelled everything correctly and your artist has too. Its easy to forget a letter here or there... so check, bring a friend, and recheck. :) God bless spell check. ------- Also there is a snow cone stand next door that has, yes snow cones er balls... and they also have soft serve which is super helpful after an endorphin draining ordeal that is getting a tattoo. read more

My husband and I are on our honeymoon here in Destin, and we thought it would be so much fun if we went and got tattoos. All the stuff were easy-going and fun to watch interact with each other, and very helpful with opinions and ideas to help you get the best tattoo. The receptionist was so kind and help me pick out a better option for me versus just grabbing one off of Pinterest like I originally was going to do. She actually ended up designing one for me and I think it turned out so much better than the one I had chosen from Pinterest. I'm not a big fan of needles and the artist Travis might even say I was a baby, but it really helped that they were talking amongst each other, taking my mind off the tattoo. I absolutely love the way my husbands and mine tattoos came out. Definitely considering coming back here to get another one of his touched up. read more

If I could rate 0 it'd be 0 first Of all I've had free tattoos come out better than the one I paid $300 for. The shop minimum was $100 btw. The tattoo is botched and yet a professional "with 6 years experience" did it. I read reviews and maybe just had a bad experience because of the tattoo artist who isn't friendly or welcoming already. He had a goatee and gages in his ears. I agreed to settle for the color difference because I guess they didn't have or want to do the colors I asked for. But the color is missing in spots that are supposed to be shaded. But his excuse was that the tattoo pictured wasn't big enough for where I was getting it and I guess as experienced as he is he doesn't kno how to accommodate even the feet and hands look weird. The eyes are not Shaped the same as the picture I gave. I came back to the shop and they couldn't fix it because of course it's not healed and wtvr and I'm from out of state so "when I come back he gonna fix it" but obviously can't fix anything but the color I have to settle for the eyes feet and legs being misshaped. read more

My mom sister and I wanted tattoos that were meaningful. This was my first tattoo as well so I didn't know what to expect or what to do. I showed the person upfront our ideas. Two guys picked out the one they wanted and talked to my mom and sister and I was left with another guy who didn't seem thrilled. They made copies of the original tattoos. They got copies of their tattoo on paper to double check and I even looked at theirs on paper. And their artists attitudes were really good. I showed him the examples and he didn't pay attention at all and was more interested in his broken tablet. Came back with a tattoo without the writing I wanted. Then he was like you didn't tell me it had writing. Well he didn't listen to me at all and I was trying to show him on my phone. It was like he was there but his mind wasn't in his job. He then asked the other guy to copy his writing so the font want the same. His tablet wouldn't work to draw it up. He Had a meltdown and left, came back drew it up and instead of showing me on paper he asks me to turn around sticks it on my back and asked my sisters bf to take a photo. Turns out he messed to my tattoo and wrote the wrong quote. His attitude was bad and he didn't seem to enjoy his job. I'll admit I should have paid more attention but I'm the customer I expect a artist to communicate with me and help me design my tattoo and I'm not even mad about the mess up as I am about his whole demeanor and attitude about it. I run my own successful business and you never blame the customer he should have checked with me on paper rather than expecting me to check it AFTER he applied the stencil from a blurry phone photo. If he wasn't in the mood or was having a bad day he should have went home and declined tattooing. His heart and head was NOT in the tattoo he was designing and now that's on me forever. I'm traumatized and I'll never get another. Why would a compass tattoo say "anchor" rather then guide or compass I mean at least say "ok you want it to say this" he literally never asked me what it was supposed to say. I assumed it was obvious by the original photo ‍ It should be procedure to draw every tattoo ON PAPER before it's applied and it should be signed by the person wanting the tattoo and artist. This guy needs to be in a different field this mess up could have been avoided if I had been shown ON paper read more

My 43 year old wife went in to get her very first tattoo to match one of our daughter's, who was getting another tat for her 20th birthday. They ended up with Josh, who was a real Dick. It was a single line in the shape of a wave, took less than a minute. They refused to give the tat in anything but black, even though they wanted blue. I wasn't there, but they got the vibe that all the "artists" were too fucking cool to cater to some silly girls getting tattoos. I don't get why someone who's passion is tattoo art wouldn't want to be cool to people, especially on someone's first. When you look at a body art, you think you're going to remember the symbolism of it, but in the end you remember the person who gave it to you and the experience you had. Personally, I wouldn't get one from someone I hadn't at least talked to a couple times, and checked out their portfolio a bit, but that's me I guess. Only redeeming thing about this place from their described experience was the black girl with dreads taking care of the customers. They all had great things to say about her and her personality. We all hope she is being taken care of by kinder people than the pompous egotistical stuck up "artists" that work there. Tattoos are forever, so my advice to anyone is to get one from someone you like, and someone who cares. Only reason they get one star is the receptionist girl they all liked so much, wish they got her name! Hope she goes somewhere where she's appreciated. Get your tattoos somewhere else. read more

They were super accommodating, fitting all four of us in, and did an impeccable job. We had our three year old with us, who of course wanted one too. I have had both of my two tattoos done here, and both times were beyond exceptional. Very clean, nice and helpful staff, an overall great atmosphere! One of my tattoos is a celtic knot, the other a lady bug, and they both look amazing and still look freshly done, no fading, years later. The prices are fair for the exceptional work done at this studio. In my opinion, this is the best tattoo shop in the area, on the panhandle in general! Milk is definitely my favorite artist there, so definitely get him if you can! As for the piercer, she does amazing, clean work as well! On one he took what I wanted, drew it right into my back and made sure to stay until far past closing so we could get it finished. Ok, so the first tattoo I had done at the Tattoo Zoo was done by the owner Jim and he did a wonderful job! I rate my first experience there a 5 but the experience I'm writing this review about is not gonna be rated good at all. The artist was terrible and I got a crappy tattoo, which is a heart on my wrist. I regret going to anyone other than Jim there but I could never seem to catch him there b/c he only works days mostly which aren't always good for me and he doesn't seem to be there very much. I trusted that Jim would only have the best working in his shop, so, went ahead and went to someone else since I got tired of waiting on Jim to be around again. Anyways, I guess I thought wrong b/c this particular artist didn't do good work and doesn't have very much experience either. I don't know his name but he has a goatee and a double piercing in his nose so, don't go to him people! You will have a messed up tattoo! He wasn't all that friendly either and I'm sure the other bad review here is probably about him too. So... if you chose to go to the Tattoo Zoo I recommend you have Jim do your tattoo. He has many years experience and you will be very happy with his work. As far as any of the other artists there go... I don't know how their work is. I sure am pissed I got stuck with the guy who totally sucks there though! Hope I can catch Jim around again one of these days so I can let him know about my bad experience and I hope maybe my tat can be fixed as well. read more

I was very disappointed with my tattoo artist, and I really wish I could have understood his name when he mumbled it to me. Went down to Ft.Walton today and had heard this shop did decent work. All I went in for was a very small black "Om" symbol on my wrist. While the shop itself was very clean, and the girl who helped me get my symbol from my phone to a sketch was nice, the artist himself was incredibly rude, has zero interest in talking to me and acted really annoyed with me, even though I could not have been more friendly and polite toward him. After he traced out the sketch and started trying to locate it on my wrist, I was nicely trying to tell him how and where I wanted it. I finally asked if I could place the tiny piece of paper where I wanted it and he was like psh, fine whatever, and huffed about it. The tattoo could not be more simple and yet the lines came out very unclean and uneven, I even asked if he could clean it up because I was unhappy and his remark was "oh, it will just fad and get blurry over a couple years and you won't notice and it looks different because I just did it." Home now, hours later, still looks like crap. I even asked him if I was unhappy, if I could come back in and have it cleaned up, and blew off my question and said, "You'll want to have it redone in a couple years anyhow", so basically no. He was a jerk!! I have such a bad feeling with this tattoo that is suppose to be special, but all I can think about is the rude and unkind artist behind it when I see it. :( And his terrible work. read more
