We rode as a family (myself, my partner, Tom, and our two kids) and Mel made everyone feel comfortable, inclusive of being provided nice cold water during the warm temps. We opted for the ride from the Stables, at sunset, which was perfect for us as we had mixed levels of riding experience in our group and it was good to be a little closer to civilization. But when we are back in Tucson, you better believe we will ride with Catalina again and take the remote desert ride to experience more of that incredible Tucson charm. I'd also like to give a shout out to riding club owners, Rose and Bob, who were incredibly helpful and super responsive before, during and after booking. Not only were they awesome to work with in regards to finding a good day/time for our ride, and finding the right horse for each of us, but also so fantastic to offer up other activities for us to do while we were in Tucson. Our only issue with this experience... it had to end and that made us sad. We loved it so much and can't wait to ride again with Rose and Bob and their team of wranglers and horses at Cataline Riding Club! 100/10 recommend... so call them when you're in Tucson and get ready to enjoy the heck out of good people, great horses and amazing landscapes/vistas (and occassional cool critter or two)! :-)

The instructors are superb, location is gorgeous, the horses my children ride are calm, intelligent, well trained and obviously loved very much. There is a wonderful playground under the shade of a tree. Grooming the horses has turned out to be just as much fun as riding. It's such a joy to watch my children care and bond with these wonderful creatures and develop new skills each time. Good for the soul. I highly recommend Lucky Charm Riding Center!

We are both experienced riders and went with a group of people who had a variety of experience. The trail was on varied terrain, up hills and down into a small canyon, all in the beautiful Catalina State park. Our guide didn't talk too much and since it was couples she let us us talk amongst ourselves which was nice. She made sure everyone was having a good time and that the group was staying together. She also gave a little bit of history on one of the historical sites in the distance. The stables themselves are very nice and everything is really well taken care of. The horses are extremely well taken care of and are not overworked. They have shade when resting between rides and even a small snack. The owner lives on site and really cares about the comfort of her guests and makes sure you are given a horse to match your experience level. I can't wait to to go again, thank you Pusch Ridge!!!

All the horses were well behaved and well-groomed. The staff picked appropriate size and temperament horses for each rider. Ample instructions were carefully given to each rider. We purchased the 1 hour trail ride since all were novice riders. The trail offers great views of the Catalina Mountains. An hour was just long enough. Everyone was happy with the riding experience. The stables are conveniently located just east of Oracle Rd.

Denver did a great job instructing riders on how to "steer" their horse, move their horse and properly ride their horse up a hill and down a hill. There were 10 riders in all. Of course, there was a bit of dust from time to time so the slight breeze was helpful. We meant to bring bandannas but forgot. It was okay not terrible. Wearing a hat was a very good idea. This is the only company that has a permit to ride in the park. Price to ride was very reasonable. These horses are well fed and well behaved.

We tried for months on end to get the owner to resolve these billing issues. But, to no avail. She billed us for the days we didn't have the girls, and refused to correct charges when we brought them to her attention. Besides refusing to get her bills right, she was curt, rude and disrespectful to the point where we finally decided to take our business elsewhere. We found her to be completely unprofessional - I would seriously consider finding another barn and trainer who seems to actually cares about her customers.

Sheryl understands the bond and subtle communication between horse and human and teaches riders and horses. She is compassionate, caring and dedicated to her craft. As a newcomer about a year ago, Sheryl was warm, receptive and attentive to any concerns or needs I had for my horse's care and feeding. She is an intuitive, insightful and highly proficient trainer. Cielo Tierra, as a boarding facility is the best in Oro Valley in my opinion (and I have boarded at all of them). Sure, there are some upgrades and repairs necessary to the structures - but nothing that endangers the horses or detracts from the excellent care shown to every horse. My horse, Chester, and I will retire at Cielo Tierra with Sheryl keeping me in the saddle in my old age!

Facility: It has a large arena, medium arena, turnout, 2 round pens, jump course, trail course, dressage arena and small trail area with a 20 min ride to the CDO wash. They have many stalling option available from outdoor paddocks, mare motel, indoor/outdoor and a training barn. All boarding is reasonably priced. Boarders: All age people and horses from 6 yr olds (I believe in when the school allows them to start) to the 70-80 yr old women/men that have companion horses. Horses range from the young 2 year olds to the 30 year old retired horses. It is a very friendly atmosphere. Services/Training: The services offered are wonderful. Turnouts, lunging, training, lessons(show lessons, beginner, intermediate, advanced, Therapeutic riding (Rolling Hills Riding Academy) and plenty of school/lease horse). The owners have show all over the country in AQHA,APHA, Palomino, etc. from open shows to world shows and have a room full of pictures and awards to back it up. They have experience in the gaited breeds as well as arabs and the classic quarter horses. They offer training from tune ups and "problem horses" to full time training and show training. The owner has always made it a point to perform the service the customer is paying for. If it ends up pouring or other emergencies come up, they refund you or reschedule for the next day. Medical/Barn Management: The owners have a wide range of medical experience and that is one reason I have never considered moving barns. They walk through the barns and makes sure that the 70+ horses all look healthy. If they see a horse cast, colicing, scrapped up etc., they know how to medicate them. If it is serious enough, they have multiple experienced vets on call at all times. If they think a horse is slightly underweight, they confront the owner and discuss options to up their feed. They truly care about the horses and customers at their barn and lend advice whenever asked. They have never steered me wrong and I would trust them with my life. All-in-all this barn is ideal for all types/age riders and horses. With the expertise and experience on hand, the barn owners are able to manage and extremely friendly, healthy atmosphere and look out for their customers and horses. I would highly suggest this barn to anyone in Tucson
