SUCH a fun experience! CJ was great, she matched us well perfectly with our horses based on our experience level and gave great tips. The ride was about 90minuted long and then we were allowed to go into the arena to ride the horses freely. The trail was gorgeous, fairly easy terrain with some up and down. Beautiful nice horses :) great group experience!!!

My wife and I took our 7 year old granddaughter for her first horseback ride. It was fantastic. Our wrangler Katie was super friendly and took extra special care of our granddaughter, even walking her horse through the thick mud in the washes following the previous evening's rain fall. Her husband Nathan came out on his day off to help, and was super nice as well. They both told us stories of all the rescued horses, the ranch, and Tucson as well. After our ride Katie took the extra time to show our granddaughter some horse tricks and walk us to the barn to see the new colt, born the day before our visit. It was on their recommendation we visited the Desert Museum the next day. They were correct, it was "5 Stars"!

This place is amazing. All animals are rescues. All of the horses were so kind and gentle. Shout Out to C.J., our (volunteer) Wrangler. She was fabulous. You can opt out of the helmet but all in the group chose to wear them. Trails were nice and easy. Great for beginners. We'll definitely be back!

I made the venture out here because this place is based on an amazing premise. All the animals here are rescues, from the dogs who greet you upon arrival to the horses that take you on the trail ride. The weekend we went they were doing a special $25 for the trail ride and $10 for the wrangler for a 90 minute sunset trail ride. It was incredible! I plan to return the next time I am in town. I would suggest better signage (we were late because we drove past since there was no sign and he address was hard to read). Also, drive here in and SUV, it is a rough gravel road for a good 15 minutes!

All the horses are rescues and such great dispositions.

CJ was an awesome guide, had a wonderful time! The ride was 90 min through the desert.

This by far was my favorite horseback ride I have been on. My mother came into town from MO and had never been horseback riding before. So what better way to share this experience with her? Then to go on a sunset ride. -To start the Wranglers were amazing. They treated us like family and made us feel like home. They truly made the experience for all 4 of us amazing. -All the horses and dogs are all resume animals. To see someone take the time and money into saving those animals to give them a better life is awesome. You just don't see that any more -The ride was beautiful! The sunset that night was breath taking (what AZ is known for) I would highly recommend this Ranch to everyone looking for a amazing experience and view. I am a photographer and have attached some of the beautiful pictures I captures from our ride.

Amazing! My fiance and I had a great ride through the desert and had the best tour guide! Larry showed us all the different types of cacti and plants, and critter tracks! We had 2 dogs follow us for the entire hour and a half! He even lent us cowboy hats for shade. I recommend bringing sunscreen if you burn easily. They gave us each 2 bottles of water, and treats to feed the horses. There's even a cute backpack on the horse for your cell phone. thank you for the wonderful time! And thank you specifically to Larry!!

Used a groupon ($69 for two people) a great deal!!! The only reason they get a four instead of five is because of the crazy 6 miles or so of dirt road to get there! The wrangler was great. The ranch rescues most (possibly all) of their animals. Before we got on our horse, a little history was told to us about them and their personality. It's a very easy slow walking ride. Had a great time!

I cannot say enough good things about our experience here! myself, my boyfriend, and 2 friends purchased a Groupon to use for our ride here as a post Christmas celebration together. When we arrived CJ (main guide) and Izzy (ranch hand and it was her first day and she was beyond mature and great with the group) immediately greeted us, helped us fill out our waivers, and invited us to say hello to the dogs, pigs, and horses on the ranch while they saddled up the horses we were going to ride. Cj gave us a crash course in horse riding before we got started and it was nice that she didn't talk down to us even though we were new riders. Once we were all saddled up she took the time to take individual and group pictures of us which she called "the most important part" haha. On our ride she shared stories of the horses, shared a little history about the ranch, and even showed us the hidden shapes in the surrounding mountain ranges. She was very personable, welcoming, and a great guide. After our ride we were welcome to feed the horses, pet the dogs, and take as many pictures as we wanted with the animals. Overall our experience was amazing and I would highly recommend this to anyone experienced rider or not!

New rider looking confident!

Thankfully, Tucson Mountain Stables came through and helped me get my horse time in with a beautiful sunset ride. Booking was easy, and when my friend and I arrived, the horses were already tacked up and ready to go. I rode Beast, a stunning Percheron cross with a great temperament, and my friend rode Romeo, a Navajo horse who was equally lovely. Both horses were steady, well-cared for, and clearly comfortable on the trail. The views were absolutely breathtaking--everything was still green, and riding through the west side of town offered a perspective you just don't get from a car. Peaceful, scenic, and a perfect way to wind down the day. Whether you're a local rider or just visiting, I highly recommend this experience. I'll definitely be back!

My saddle was leaning toward the left side. One of the guides tried to adjust it prior to leaving while I was still on the saddle so it wasn't as affective. Not being an experienced rider, I did not realize it was not adjusted correctly. The facility is a bit rough and the guide has only been riding for 4 months. There was very little information about safety, etc. I've been to one other horseback trail riding facility in Oro Valley and the experience was much better. It's a good deal but definitely very rustic (especially the port a potty "restroom").

We are both experienced riders and went with a group of people who had a variety of experience. The trail was on varied terrain, up hills and down into a small canyon, all in the beautiful Catalina State park. Our guide didn't talk too much and since it was couples she let us us talk amongst ourselves which was nice. She made sure everyone was having a good time and that the group was staying together. She also gave a little bit of history on one of the historical sites in the distance. The stables themselves are very nice and everything is really well taken care of. The horses are extremely well taken care of and are not overworked. They have shade when resting between rides and even a small snack. The owner lives on site and really cares about the comfort of her guests and makes sure you are given a horse to match your experience level. I can't wait to to go again, thank you Pusch Ridge!!!

All the horses were well behaved and well-groomed. The staff picked appropriate size and temperament horses for each rider. Ample instructions were carefully given to each rider. We rode as a family (myself, my partner, Tom, and our two kids) and Mel made everyone feel comfortable, inclusive of being provided nice cold water during the warm temps. We opted for the ride from the Stables, at sunset, which was perfect for us as we had mixed levels of riding experience in our group and it was good to be a little closer to civilization. But when we are back in Tucson, you better believe we will ride with Catalina again and take the remote desert ride to experience more of that incredible Tucson charm. I'd also like to give a shout out to riding club owners, Rose and Bob, who were incredibly helpful and super responsive before, during and after booking. Not only were they awesome to work with in regards to finding a good day/time for our ride, and finding the right horse for each of us, but also so fantastic to offer up other activities for us to do while we were in Tucson. Our only issue with this experience... it had to end and that made us sad. We loved it so much and can't wait to ride again with Rose and Bob and their team of wranglers and horses at Cataline Riding Club! 100/10 recommend... so call them when you're in Tucson and get ready to enjoy the heck out of good people, great horses and amazing landscapes/vistas (and occassional cool critter or two)! :-)

We still have him to this day We had such a great experience and felt confident that we would get the same by going back to them when we decided to purchase another horse. We went back and as we were making the deal the horse acted funny and we were promised that if he didn't work out we could bring him back. He was just having a "horsey moment" Due to our previous experience and being told "You can always bring him back if he does not work out" we went ahead with the purchase. We had issues with the horse and attempted to work with him and these issues never resolved, so we contacted Laura and were told we would have to pay boarding fees while they tried to sell him and we waited for them to find another horse that would work out. We then decided that we would keep him at our place and take him back once they found us another horse to trade him out for. After several months had passed and no contact from them unless we called or texted. and then it was we are still looking. we decided to sell the horse. When a prospective buyer had the horse checked out by a vet we were told that the horse had Navicular Pathology and has had it for at least a year. We sent Laura an e-mail offering a chance to make this right and still have not heard anything back. we will no longer recommend them as we used to. we used to think very highly of them not any more!!
