Great time with lots of food truck and food tent options. Love that it is different when they do have it and there is a great variety. It is in the parking lot behind some of the businesses in the milk district so we typically end up at the Nook for a beer with our food. The service at the trucks has always been friendly and the pricing is reasonable. Fun time, but it outside so be prepared if it is a warmer evening. They set up tables outside or you can go into one of the businesses for a beverage. read more

Another excellent experience at Tasty Takeover! I came specifically for Royal T Tapas as Mel's menu is always five stars! Tonight, she recommended I try the "Surf's Up" and it was amazing, fresh and flavorful. It consisted of skirt steak, chimichurri and mango jalapeno shrimp ceviche on seasoned tostones. Mel stated that she also used pineapple to marinate the steak, which made it the perfect summer treat. I also ordered the "UR Chix Main Squeeze" after I saw someone rave about it on Instagram. It did not disappoint either with its marinated chicken, orange basil sauce, asiago polenta (I could have had a bowl of that alone!) and roasted garlic brussels sprout leaves. If you are looking for restaurant quality tapas in a food truck environment, look no further than when Royal T Tapas is at Tasty Takeover. I just wish this food truck was here more often as I would make Tasty Takeover a regular stop. Plus, I would probably try other food trucks, too. This has become our regular Tuesday evening spot for some delicious flavors as they rotate different food trucks each week! For us originally, this food event started off as a "Taco Tuesday" thing, but now it's become "let's try unique dishes from around the world on Tuesdays"! This past week, we tried the Ethiopian beef stew, German meatballs, and Cuban empenadas! The beef stew was very yummy, and it tasted like a cross between Moroccan stew and Indian curry! The German meatballs were seasoned well while the empenadas were just about perfect! In past weeks, we've tried items such as Filipino lumpias to asain bao buns and of course tacos! The food trucks are all family owned types of operations, so it's great to be able to enjoy these delicious dishes while also helping families and small businesses in town! All their flavors are must try and does not disappoint! $7 each. Check their Instagram profiles weekly for when she comes back. East Coast Tacos is a recurrent vendor and I've had them once trying their chicken taco and wasn't impressed. But, I stepped out on a whim this time after learning they're popular for Birria Tacos. Got a chance to try those and led me to their Carne Asada Fries for $10, which I'd highly recommend as 10/10. Both delicious in presentation, taste and pricing. 5 Star update! After 6 years, this food truck event is going strong and featured great trucks! Similar to my previous review, be prepared to park on a side street to walk on over. I personally love to start at Etoile for some fab thrifting (they don't allow drinks inside, so that's why it's my first stop). From there, head over to the trucks and order. You'll have a short wait as they make your food, so this is a good time to pop on over to The Nook to pick up some great local beers. Last time I went I ordered FABULOUS bao from Hot Asian Buns (they have vegetarian options, too!). I ate it inside The Nook while sipping a Florida beer that Mary or Matt recommended. The Nook is your soon-to-be favorite local beer bar. It's unpretentious and features only Florida-brewed beers! They are busiest on Tuesdays, but you'll still get great recommendations and service! There are picnic tables out back by the trucks and tons of cute pups to pet while you hang out. Some other recommendations are Cholo Dogs, for wild and tasty hotdogs, and any of the dessert trucks! Just recently start making Tasty Takeover apart of my Tuesdays each week. Really enjoy walking around and not only enjoying the food but the businesses take part each week as well. The food trucks rotate every time and it's always great to see and try something new. This past week I had Red Panda Noodle and it was great. Very good quality and taste. As well as the service. Businesses place tables out so you can find a spot to eat and just hangout. Even though when it's very busy it can be hard to find a spot to eat. Every Tuesday in the Milk District local food trucks gather to show off their cuisine. The only down side is finding a table to stand at to eat, and chairs are nonexistent. The truck lineup varies every week, but many of the same trucks come out every week. I usually come here for desserts. Little Blue Donut and Churros and Cream are my favorites. Its not a trip out here without a Salted Caramel donut! Monster Lobsta is another crowd favorite! I'll be back next week to try other food trucks. Such a great idea! I've been meaning to go to this for a while now. I love food trucks and I love food truck events even more. They pack so many trucks into a small area. It allows you to try a bunch of different types of food without breaking a sweat. They seem to switch up the trucks every week so I don't know how helpful any specific reviews will be, but I will say that I loved everything I got from here. That includes the bao from Hot Asian Buns, the crazy hot dog and hamburger concoctions from SwedeDISH, and the always-delicious s'mores from Sugar Rush. Grab a buddy, get a beer from the Iron Cow next door, and go on a culinary tour of some of the best and most creative Food Trucks in Orlando. That's what I did and I had a great time. If you're looking for a reason to be excited for Tuesday nights this is it! Love coming out and seeing what food trucks are in the lineup. Some are better than others of course but theres always plenty to chose from and something for everyone! My only real complaint would have to be the seating/beverage situation. I understand that it's to bring business into the bars but it's a little frustrating that you cant even buy a bottle of water from the trucks and if you brought your own you wouldn't be permitted to use any of the already limited seating because it's part of Milk Bar. Maybe if they put out a few more of those standing room tables so I can chose to bring my own beverage? Either way it's a super fun little event and would definitely recommend but be ready to eat standing or head to the bars! read more

I try and make it here at least once a month. A dozen trucks that rotate so there are a few different trucks each week. Parking can be a challenge but it's not a far walk from Colonial Landing Mall parking lot. People bring their dogs AND KIDS ! yes it's fine for the rug rats too. Many of the trucks have more basic items and a few even have a couple "kid options". Rain OR Shine. Grab some grub and head into Milk Bar or Sandwich Bar (if later) and chill. Milk Bar has Root Beer and other NON-alcholic choices for the DD in your group. They also have a pretty good selection of board games and the TV always is playing something good. Eat, Chil...then walk out back and hit another food truck.....repeat....then go get something sweet for desert. I have been a few times and EACH time everyone is super chill and very friendly. You definitely have to check this out at least once if you have never been ! read more

I'm a big fan of food trucks in general. Been to multiple countries and had all types of food trucks and stalls. They're generally low key types of dinning at affordable prices. This is the reason for the low ratings. The prices are actually a bit higher than a comparable brick and mortar eatery, no seating, even very limited tables for standing, no bathrooms. Food quality is just basic food truck level quality but prices are outrageous. Expect to spend around $30 for two people. Happy hour prices at fancy restaurants with servers are cheaper. If the location puts out chairs and tables and give out cold water dispensers with maybe a game or two then I can see the justification for the price. It shouldn't be very hard to accomplish. I won't be back until things change. read more

Whoever came up with this idea was a flippin genius!! You've got a small strip of bars/lounges and then delicious food trucks lining up on the side walk offering you their delicious fare. It's no wonder that the place is always jam-packed on Tuesdays! I'm a regular @ Tasty Tuesday and will continue to be; the wonderful thing about it is that every Tuesday there are a series of different trucks so you'll always be able to try something different. First time going to Tasty Takeover but will definitely be back! Loved the variety of food trucks, the vendors I visited were friendly and the waits were reasonable. They list the food truck vendors and a little bit about them on the website so be sure to check it out to get an idea of who will be there or see when your favorite vendor will be back in rotation. The vendors do accept cards and there are two or three local bars that have beer and wine as well. Overall a good time I would recommend going with a decent group so you can taste more things. Most of the vendors serve larger portions $9-14 range so it adds up quickly if you want to try a lot of different things. read more

In the past I would have given five stars easily but lately the variety seems to be slipping. I think after so long you start only going when a certain truck you like is there. Which isn't a good thing because it means you are not really pushed to try anything new because after a two months you've had everything. Or they add yet another (insert niche here) truck, which is probably like the last (insert niche here) truck. A good example of this are the bbq trucks, or any of the dessert trucks. I remember having trouble finding parking the first time I attended about 3 years ago, but that doesn't seem to be an issue anymore, but don't let that fool you into thinking the event has been affected negatively by that. Always a huge fan of this event! They usually have got about 10 trucks or so with varying styles of food. Trucks typically rotate each week so you will never see the same trucks there all at one time. You can grab a bite for dinner usually around or under $15 - depending on the truck you decide to stop at. Not a bad deal in my eye! Parking can be a bit of a challenge.. The event is located in the two small parking lots behind Milk Bar/Space Bar etc. With that said there is really no designated parking for the event. Street parking opens up later in the evening and there is street parking located in the surrounding areas. After some searching I usually end up snagging a spot in walkable distance - would recommend carpooling if you are going with someone! It is RAIN OR SHINE! Places to sit/tables to eat at are in limited quantity. Some just stop on their way home from work and bring home. The event is also dog friendly so I always try to bring my pup along. Several other people bring their well-behaved dogs as well. Definitely a must visit if you live in the area! Such a great event that is put on & it is always consistent! This event is held every Tuesday evening and it's SO great. When my boyfriend and I go, we always get items from different trucks so we can try more and more each time we visit. This is a casual event with a very cool and relaxed atmosphere. This most recent visit we stopped by Molo's and a Korea BBQ truck. Molo's is one of my favorite and the two I always see working are always so generous and kind- it really makes the experience that much more enjoyable. The Bang Bangin Shrimp is AMAZING and I always get a side of extra sauce to put on my coconut rice. After we ate, we stopped by the coolest bar that's in the same lot as the food trucks. A lot of old school games and the friendliest puppers. It's hard to have a bad night around happy dogs. I believe it was called the Milk Bar. Enjoy! read more

I wish I knew about this earlier!! I miss food trucks!! This location is literally across the TG LEE plant and is behind the local bars. You can't miss it. Parking can be tricky, since you either have to park on the street or down the block at some offices. Don't worry your car won't get towed :) There were a good amount of trucks there, changes every week so make you you take a look on the fb page of what trucks to expect, or just wing it and go surprise yourself. The bars welcome you into their joint to sit, eat, and of course have a sip of some good beer and drinks. Which was great since there isn't a lot of tables or sitting available. I tried the Bem Bom food truck, which was a Portuguese influenced and the menu consisted of sandwiches, tacos, and their egg flan dessert. Definitely get that! If you like spicy food definitely try this truck out, I ordered the Piri Piri Chicken Prego. It had a burst of different flavors consisting of spicy and citrusy flavors. I think it was a little bit too spicy for me, because my lips felt numb and it was hard for me to finish. But it was still good. The other truck I tried was the Tamale and Co. Definitely loved this one! I ordered the Verde Chicken Tamale. Yum! Shredded chicken rolled into the tamale, and topped with their verde sauce, crema, queso fresco, and cilantro. Party in your mouth! Wasn't heavy tasting and definitely will get you full off of one. It's a great vibe in this area, laid back, hipster, and overall just a cool spot to hang out and chill with friends. Pretty relaxing to say the least. Dogs are very much welcome here, so bring that buddy of yours along :) I'll be coming back for sure!! read more

All the trucks are outside behind these little bars. It's convenient because they allow us to use the bathroom and get drinks. I gave it 4 stars because some of the trucks had amazing food like the truck with steak on a stick was AMAZING! And the churro place was very good. I also tried the Asian buns, that I was ok with. My son had a burger which was simple but still very good. There was plenty of space for everyone. I didn't give 5 stars because I wish there were more seating areas and I also wish the trucks would sell drinks so that we didn't have to go into a bar. I also wish that it was a lot bigger area so that more trucks with different foods can come sell their food. But overall it was a great first time experience. I originally went to Tasty Takeover because I had found the Little Blue Donut truck at another event and wanted more. To my dismay, they were not there the time that I went but my fault for not looking at the list beforehand. I did however, enjoy some delicious churros from another truck. Overall, the event is awesome! The atmosphere is fun as people all ages come and hangout, some even bringing their pups. Sportstown and some of the other bars are open and allow you to enter from outback and grab a beer to go with your food. I wasn't super impressed with the food I tried but my husband got the Korean BBQ and that was delicious! The food is a little bit pricy for the small portions you get, but is pretty standard for food trucks. It's a great time to go out and enjoy a weekday night with friends so we don't have to just live for the weekend! read more

I want to incorporate Tasty Tuesday into every Tuesday of my life. The Big Cheese Grilled Cheese Truck is really all I can speak of as I most certainly demolished almost all of my chosen grilled cheese (the one with brie and pear) and a half plate of fries. Based off the setup alone, in one of the cooler and hipper parts of town - aka The Milk District -I really think Tasty Tuesdays is one of the better things going on in Orlando on a Tuesday night. I would much prefer my pickings of a Food Truck Bazaar than tacos any day of the week. Good work guys. Awesome weekly food truck event in the Milk District (Robinson and Bumby area) from 6pm- 10p every Tuesday. I went with some friends for the first time recently . Parking is pretty much wherever you can find it. I lucked out finding a spot next to the TG Lee plant but crossing Robinson can be a pain. The list of food trucks vary from week to week but are a great variety. Lots of good vegetarian options and most trucks take cards now but always good to have cash in case. I like being able to see the food truck list beforehand to see if there are any trucks I want to visit . Saves me time . The event is very dog friendly. And it's on a much smaller scale than most of the food truck bazaars around time that can be super overwhelming. There really isn't a lot of seating so feel free to bring some chairs . We ducked into the Milk Bar which allowed patrons to eat in there but make sure to give them your drink business. All in all, I would do this event any day over the larger scale events in the area. The hubby and I love going every Tuesday when we can. It's kid and dog friendly. Some of the bars may not be kid friendly if you want to sit inside (Some are smoker friendly). However, bring some chairs or a big blanket to sit down and it's actually much better, especially if you love to people watch. They change out most of the food trucks but you'll see repeat ones every Tuesday like the Yum Yum Truck (Because they're so good!). After attending tasty takeover on several occasions, I can say this event is awesome. It's very casual and perfect for a tuesday evening. The food trucks are always different but tastytakeover.com has the schedule up. This past tuesday I tried both Da Kine Poke bowls, and Churros and Cream. The hawaiian poke bowl was amazingggggg. I would venture to say that they serve the best poke bowls in orlando. The churros were the perfect end to the meal. I tried the dulce de leche and strawberry cheesecake filled ones. Both were delicious, not too decadent and afterwards, I didn't hate myself. I was able to get a table with friends in Spacebar to eat and I love this little spot. They serve delicious beers and also have vintage sports memorabilia for sale. Service has always been fantastic. read more

Love the wide variety that is Tasty Tuesdays in the Milk District. Parking can be a challenge but I use the walking as a means to justify ordering a little bit of everything ;) I tried Leguminati's vegan crunchwrap supreme this week and it was delicious! The large portioned crunchwrap was cooked on a flatt panini-press style grill. Seitan beef, vegan sour cream and cheese were stuffed inside along with diced tomatoes, lettuce, and of course a layer of crunch. Wrapped up into a little pocket, I would chose this option over Taco Bell's version any day. My only complaint is that I couldn't eat the crunchwrap quick enough for it to stay nice and hot (this Tuesday evening's cold temps and wind probably didn't help). On this night my boyfriend enjoyed Sushi & Seoul On the Roll, ordering the pork belly donuts and the Rock and Sake roll. Not sure how this was our first time trying this truck! The roll was fresh, flavorful and pretty sure we ordered the last one before their sold out. O.M.G. The pork belly donuts were all YES. Pulled pork belly, tempura fried with a maple syrup drizzle on top. Very much the savory sweet mix we love. We will be back to the donuts again (very soon)! Our last stop of the night was Monsta Lobsta for some lobster bisque. As we stood in line to order (we were next!) one of the guys came out and crossed lobster bisque off the menu. We were disappointed but knew we shouldn't have waited so long. The patrons in front of us agreed, we shouldn't have waited and we were really missing out on some awesome bisque. We stood there discussing our disappointment and jumped in the crepe line to finish out our night. Not even 2 minutes later, the Monsta Lobsta guy came back with a bowl of lobster bisque, saying he scraped just enough for one more bowl. Oh and it's on the house!! We could not have been more grateful and excited. Noted to hit this truck first next time - amazing bisque and amazing service!! read more
