My wife and I recently made a trip to Mazatlán, México, and we had some of the best food we had ever had. Since that trip we've been looking for more of that authentic flavor that we found there. We will now look no further than Tasty Tacos. This place is legit as it gets. The food is amazing. On our visit I had the Camarones a la Diabla, which is shrimp cooked in a delicious, spicy red sauce - served with rice and piping hot tortillas. Absolutely delicious! Before our meal we ordered salsa, guacamole and tortilla chips. The chips were freshly made, crispy and hot. The guacamole was exactly like we had in Mexico. Everything was perfect! My wife had molcajete, and she couldn't stop raving about how flavorful it was. It came loaded with shrimp, beef, chicken, and chorizo. It also had loads of fresh vegetables. It was easily enough for two people to share. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, look no further than Tasty Tacos. It's easily the best Mexican food in Columbus. read more

Sorry but this place is gross. Fruit flies flying around the table, one got in my margarita. We ended up just getting our order to go as I didn't want more fruit flies in my food. As shown in the photo of menu and receipt, they also overcharged for the Enchilada Supreme Roja. It's $16.50 on the menu but rang up $17.50, which means it's wrong in their computer system. In reviewing the receipt again, also noticed they charged $1.93 "non-cash adjustment." WTF is that? No restaurant in the area charges that. No where did it say they charge extra for CC payments. Absolutely ridiculous. The beef in the beef enchilada was fatty. I had to spit out some of the beef in my first bite. I will say the street corn was good. The only highlight. The music was so loud we had to ask the waitress to turn it down, but even after turning it down, it was still uncomfortable. You can barely have a conversation. Not only that, but ads would play even louder than the music after every couple songs it seems. I've never been in a restaurant that played ads. Come on. The music itself was fine, but just way too loud to have any type of enjoyable atmosphere. The table we were at was worn with a hole in the table cloth or something. Just had a worn look to it. Will never come back here. Our visit basically ruined our Friday night. Will stick to the tried and true from now on -- Dos Hermanos at Easton. read more

I went to lunch at this restaurant on 5/2/25. The good news - the Street Corn was tasty and the salsa/chips was fresh. The bad news - The Texan Fajitas was NOT tasty. The steak was very tough - not edible, the beans and rice had no flavor at all. The chicken, shrimp and vegetables lacked seasoning. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. The service was slow, the food was bland and the margaritas were expensive. I ordered birria tacos and the consume was basically soup. It had onions, corn, garbanzo beans and other veggies. It wasn't bad.. but it was bland I got the Texas margarita (13.50). It was fairly strong and that's what's probably carrying the 2 stars. The margaritas start as $12. My sister ordered a daiquiri and it came out as a sparkling marg on the rocks...? My sister said the rice was bland as well. This was not my fav by a long shot. The chips and salsa were apparently $7? The lady asked if we wanted some as If they were free. My sister and I got our checks and there was a $3.50 charge on both after asking to split the chips when she asked. The ambiance was cool. A typical hole in the wall restaurant. Tacos are amazing, my preferred choice of tacos on both 161 & Cleveland Ave! Definitely get an Auga Fresca, mad refreshing. The torreado Jalapeño is great if you want some fresh spice. Corn in a cup is super good, just don't forget it has dairy if your lactose intolerant like me lol. Emeralds & Jahara have been super attentive servers on my trips. Don't think about it just give them a try, for $3.50 a taco it's hard to be disappointed I prefer the Barbacoa & Asada tacos (chicken is good too, I just like others are better imo) with a Melon Augua Fresca Music isn't too loud, good vibes, clean tables. read more

Food was decent,nothing special. The server was fixing her hair while I was eating and proceeded to sneeze,wiping her nose on her arm. There was no hand washing after any of this. When my bill came, it was $3 more than what was on the menu. She said it was because they gave me extra meat. I didn't ask for anything different than what was on the menu. I told her,but agreed to pay. My final bill had an additional $2.20 for not using cash. Didn't see this posted anywhere either. My $13.50 burrito turned out to be $19.. I have gotten the Nachos Supreme with a side of queso multiple times. It always tastes delicious but who knows what I will be charged. The first time it was about $13. Today it was $18.72. Why? Usually I have the best meal ever here. Today I decided to get my usual nachos deluxe and they were poorly made . I usually check my order before I leave but this time I had faith because I've always had great experiences. I had a whole bunch of chips in my nachos and barely any toppings . Even though we had a party of about 12, we had food fast, and it was great!! Personally, I had the Carnitas entree which was some of the best I've had. It came with a side of "house beans" which were WAYYY better than typical Mexican-style beans. I'd want to order a side of these any chance I get in the future.
