Moving from the PNW, finding a good Indian restaurant was a must. The west side of Columbia had…read moresome good ones but somehow we missed this place in the north east side of Cola.. The food is excellent and the quality has always been consistent (even the good places on the east side seemed to vary in consistency with their food). We are now regulars and typically order out from here at least once a week. Highly recommend!

I came here Saturday at 1 with my daughter and was meeting a friend. We were seated immediately and staff were kind. They had shah paneer here which is one of my favs so off course I had to get that, I also got an order of the butter paneer masala and out of those two I actually loved the buttered paneer masala more here though both were amazing. I also placed an order of the salt and pepper mushrooms, garlic and cheese naan and off course some mango lassi. Everything was delicious and friendly quick service. My only complaint was as we wer finishing our meal I really started smelling cigarettes coming through the vent which thankfully we were finishing up but the smell was not pleasant at all. My 6 year old devoured the food as well. We'll for sure be back.

My second time here. The first time was during the soft opening when the menu was limited so wanted…read moreto check out additional items before posting. We tried dosa, vada, idli, gutti vankay curry, and andhra goat curry the first time. The second time, we ordered gobi Karampoddi, gongura chicken, Mirchi ka Salan, and Veg Hakka noodles - all Indian extra spicy and an order of idli sambhar - mild spicy. The service was good and we got the food pretty quickly with the appetizers coming out first, as requested. The portion size was also pretty decent for the price- enough for 2-3 adults if you're sharing entrees. However, the spice level was a little off. The Mirchi ka Salan could've used some more Thai chillies instead of the large jalapenos that tasted like bell peppers. The gongura chicken and veg Hakka noodles were almost spot on at least after adding the chilli sauce that comes with the noodles. The sambhar was ordered mild for a teenager but it turned out to have a little too much heat for them. It was spot on for an adult with a developed palette but maybe not so much for a weaker one. Desserts were also on the okay side. They put rooh-afsa (pinkish rose syrup) in their rabri which makes it a little different. The rasmalai was pretty watered down with no malai (cream) but was flavorful. I don't think the desserts provide any value for money so I would skip them. We had a bunch of leftovers (Mirchi ka Salan and Hakka noodles) that tasted really good when reheated. So maybe the spices just needed some time to really bond with the food overnight. I would definitely recommend this place if you're near Columbia

I recently ordered takeout from Hyderabad House and was pleased with the experience…read more What I ordered: I got their gobi manchurian to start things off. It came is spice levels: baby mild, mild, medium, spicy, very spicy. I got the mild because I do like my gobi manchurian to have some spice. That said, their mild is more like a heavily medium from what I'm accustomed to. I enjoyed it but just a note--if you like things to have only a slight kick, I'd go for the baby mild. For my main, I got their malai kofta. It closer to a light medium when ordering it mild but again, no problem with that. For the dish itself I found dumplings to be a bit too mushy and the overall flavor was a bit lacking for me. For my bread, I got the garlic naan. It was excellent! Covered in chopped garlic and glistening with butter--it was indulgent and delicious. Everything was perfectly packaged (no leaking!) and came piping hot! And, the servings were robust so I have fully half leftover for another dinner. Get to it!

Jonah is one of the few Indian restaurants in Florence and the only one open on a Monday evening…read more Apparently they have not been open that long. It took several minutes before the host told us to "sit anywhere" because the check out stand was crowded by three or four door dash drivers who were occupying his time. The ambience is relaxed and clean. The menu is extensive and much easier to read in person than on any website. Their Facebook page was no help in trying to determine the food that they offer. The restaurant menu offers brief explanations of each dish - this is quite helpful as the descriptions are not included in the "order online" page. I tried the sweet corn soup. It was served piping hot in a generous portion. It was sweet but not too sweet and had a nice texture of vegetables besides the corn kernels The curry dishes we ordered were good, not great. We ordered one at a mild level of spiciness and the second at a medium level. They were clearly seasoning the dishes for "white folks" because the seasoning was a bit blander than I expected or have experienced from other Indian restaurants. The serving size was more than adequate. We were only able finish about half of each dish. The chef brought us a generous extra portion of rice for our take-out containers.
