From the staff being so kind and informative and forgiving because I've scheduled cakes and cream puffs to be bought, I've been late a few times all my fault but the people here are just amazing to say the least. Now to the items such as cream puffs, eclairs, mini pastry and cakes. Those are the extent of items I've tried so far and everything mentioned has been a very very tasteful experience of goodness doux pastries. I received these for my birthday last year and for any event that requires me to bring dessert- this is my go to! The cream puffs are affordable at $1 for a small one and $2 for a large one. Check-in on yelp to get a free large cream puff. The cream itself is rich, eggy and fragrant with vanilla. They have other desserts here but I haven't had a chance to try them yet, perhaps next time. I can see why there's a constant flow of foot traffic coming in and out of this bakery. I grew up going to Borracchini's and Delite but since a lot of my family moved down south there's become a need for closer locations for desserts. I had to run some errands in the Kent area so I put this bakery on my list. I paid a visit right when they opened up shop and they had a good selection. I remember back in my high school days me and my friends would get a free cream puff after eating our pho at Pho Than Brothers...ah nostalgia. The cream puffs they sell here though looks more similar to the ones they have at 85 degree bakery. The prices at Tasty Doux are fairly decent compared to the hipster joints in and around downtown Seattle. There are two things I have tried repeatedly, and have always been unimpressed by and that is cream puffs and macaroons. Well that all changed today when I stopped in here inquiring about birthday cake options for my husband's upcoming 40th in May. The strawberry macaroon was out of this world, and every other macaroon I've ever eaten in my life is an insult to macaroons if this is truly how they are supposed to be made. The cream puff was absolutely top-notch, I will probably not waste anymore time eating other cream puffs if they are not from here. Finally made it to Tasty Doux... OMG cream puffs are amazing!!! It was SO delicious! I bought bunch for my friends, and bought myself 3 mini ones - I should've gotten more!!! They are fairly light, fluffy, delicate and perfectly balanced inside and out. Wow! Highly recommended. The staff was so friendly and helpful - I ordered over the phone ahead, but they filled the cream right when I said I'd pick up, that is a great touch. I was in the area and did a quick yelp search and saw Tasty Doux's 5 star average ratings so decided to stop in and try a cream puff. I actually forgot about it and ate it hours later semi-smashed, and it was still really good! I can't imagine how good it would be had I eaten it sooner! The filling was thick and creamy, and the puff had a light, sweet, crisp top. It was perfect! Everyone who comes here for their cream puffs RAVES about it and honestly I UNDERSTAND THE HYPE!!! One of the best cream puffs I've ever had and I seriously wish I bought more. It's like a melonpan, which has a thin crispy top but the puff itself is nice and airy. You don't get this type of texture often in your usual cream puffs. They fill it with delicious cold vanilla cream when you order em so it's fresh. There's a fat deal if you buy 20 cream puffs, for only $35! One of our favorites in the area for cream puffs. I've brought these to work dinners as well as small get together's and they are always well received. I've had their other pastries as well which are terrific. It's a small shop in Kent, no sit down room. You just place your order either in person or by phone/doordash etc. Their cream puffs are filled when you order. I only had the pandan cupcake here but it was so good! The cupcake was light and fluffy, the pandan flavor really showed through, and the cupcake itself wasn't too sweet. My parents, who are usually critical of baked goods, really liked this one. Service was also really friendly. If I had planned more in advance for my sister's birthday I definitely would have ordered a cake from here (they ask for about 2 weeks in advance for cake orders I found out). We went here randomly the other day because we needed some cupcakes and it was close by and WOW, we were so impressed. We got the strawberry cheesecake, GF coconut cupcake, pandan cupcake, and also we had to try the creampuffs. The cupcakes were so different than what I'm used to in a good way. The cake part was almost like chiffon cake and way soft and moist, while the frosting was like a thick sweet whipped topping. Even the GF cupcake was so good! It had a rich coconut flavor and was perfectly moist. Finally the cream puffs, they were SO good! It had a custard filling with a strong vanilla flavor and the puff itself had a cookie crust topping (kind of like Melon bread or pineapple buns). We loved it so much! What a great surprise find! The cupcakes do run on the pricier side $4-5 each but the quality and flavor are worth it! Cream puffs are a great alternative if you want something cheaper too. Stopped by here to grab some southern food and decided to grab some dessert. It's on the corner of a strip mall next to TrueTea and Nana's. The bakery has a number of gluten free options also. But since I'm not gluten intolerant - we went with the French macaroons (2.50 each) and the cream puffs (2$ each). We loved all of the desserts but the cream puffs were everyone's favorite. Customer service was also great. One note there is a transaction fee if you want to use a credit card, for anything below 10$ in total for a single transaction. Cute little shop done up in pastels playing fun oldies! Staff- very friendly and helpful....When I asked about the cream puff filling, they offered a sample. They are VERY wise to have empty ones under the counter, which they fill right in front of you. It was DELICIOUS!! The tiramisu was wonderful, alternating layers of moist cake and cream filling. I don't like the flavor of coffee, so my husband polished it off. The macaroons were chewy, tender, very sweet and flavors were spot on. I cannot say enough good thing about this bakery! I ordered a cake from them and asked if I can bring in little toy figurines to put on tile because my nephew wanted a Pokémon theme. They were so easy to work with and the cake looked and tasted amazing! I did all the ordering online, and discussed colors with them over the phone. The bakers/employees were so helpful, sweet and welcoming. I also took home some pastries that day and all I can say is WOW. The hype with the creams are real. If you've had a chouquette before, the pastry they use for the cream puff and the fillings are spot on. They also don't fill them until you order - keeping it fresh and tasting it's best. Love this place! Sometimes I'll take a different route just to stop by here!! So far, Tasty Doux is among the best cupcakes I have tried. The pandan flavor is my all time favorite!!! Light, not sweet and always fresh. It's one of their best sellers as it is a unique, tasty flavor. I love the red velvet too so I could be a little biased here. Have tried a few other flavors and they are also pretty good. They seem to mix things up and come up with new flavors, while still offering the standard flavors. They usually run out of the good cupcakes pretty quick. My other favorite is their cream puffs. They have regular size and minis. Soooo light and fluffy and not too sweet. The macaroons are amazing too!! The bakery is in Kent on the east hill - not too visible when you're on the main road (Kent-Kangley) but if you google, the directions will take you there easily. The owners are super friendly and nice. Their cupcakes and other treats are all delightful. I sometimes buy cupcakes and give as gifts to my clients. My clients love them too that some of them knowing I love cupcakes, sometimes surprise me with the cupcakes from here too! read more

Tasty Doux is a small family owned bakery that offers one of the best pastries I've had in Washington. The cream puffs come in regular sizes and mini sizes, the pastry itself is perfectly sweet, slightly crispy on the outside and they are generous with the cream. A lot of other places left me in disappointment, as they would skimp on the most important component - the cream. Tasty Doux most definitely does not skimp on the cream, and it is tasty. Their gluten free coconut cupcake was also memorable. Perfectly cooked cupcake with a hint of coconut flavor. The cream on top was not too sweet but sweet enough to compliment well with the cupcake. In regards to pricing, it is reasonable, given the quality of the pastries. It may even be on the cheaper side compared to other locations. This is one of Kent's hidden gems. WOW JUST WOW! This place definitely earned their stars. It has been opened for a couple years now near my house, but I just found out about it. I got the Pandan cupcake, tiramisu, and a cream puff. Tip: you get a free cream puff when you check-in on Yelp/ Facebook! I couldn't wait till I got home so I started munching on the cupcake as soon as I got into the car. Pandan cupcake: IT IS SO BOMB! I've had many Pandan cakes before from other Asian bakeries but this place is hands down the best! The Pandan flavor is really rich but not overpowering, and the cupcake is moist. It tops with whipped cream and has a tiny bit of Pandan filling(?) cream in the middle. I 100% recommend this to EVERYONE! Tiramisu: tbh I'm always on a quest to find yummy tiramisu. It is my favorite cake of all time! Once again, this is not a disappointment! I'm so happy I found a place that sells yummy tiramisu near me. It isn't super sweet and the flavors all blend together. Super light and fluffy. Not soggy either which is a plus. I was a little hesitant at first because the cup looks kinda small for $5.50, but it is actually pretty filling. It's just the right amount. Cream puff: this is comparable to Beard Papa's (if you're a true cream puff fan you'll know)! The top has a nice crunch to it while the sides are soft. The filling is super delicious (literally taste like Beard Papa's). The size of it is really big which surprises me and there is a lot of filling. Literally heaven in a bit! And to top off the delicious bakery, the Asian lady that works there is super adorable. Super bubbly, you'll love her. I am super thrilled this has been an additional to the Kent community. My rating is actually a toss-up between a 3 and a 4, but when I compare this to other bakeries I love, I think 3 is more suitable. Today was my first time visiting Tasty Doux, and I got a lemon bar, eclair, cupcake, gluten free fudge brownie slice, and gluten free toffee cookie. All of that for $15, plus a free cream puff for checking in to Yelp! First, the ambience. This is a small place in Kent, and not the type of bakery where I'd hang out with a friend for a cozy chat. There's only one small table with two chairs and then two stools at the bar counter against the window. The woman who helped us was sweet and kind, so that was definitely a plus! Lot of selections - different flavor cupcakes, light mousses in cups, flaky pastries with cream and fruit, macarons...another plus! As for the quality of the food. I've always favored lemon bars but I think my body can't handle the sweetness anymore - and this one was definitely on the very sweet side. My son, however, kept raving about how good it was and how we should buy two. His GF brownie was delicious - moist and flavorful with a coating of chocolate (or fudge?) on top. The cupcake was mediocre, as most cupcakes are - and overpriced at $3.50. And, again, as most cupcakes are, the frosting is excessive and ends up being tossed. The cream puff got my thumbs up, and the toffee crisp cookie (aka lace cookie) got two thumbs up. That would be my choice the next time I return. Very disappointed with my visit today. An online search for "vegan bakery" provided this place as an option. Couldn't be further from the truth. They have ONE dairy-free item - the Coconut Cupcake. They don't customize other options- either vegan or nondairy- even as a special order. Not sure why this place even registers online as a vegan bakery. One dairy-free item does not a vegan bakery make. I tried the gluten and dairy free Coconut cupcake after asking whether it tasted more like coconut cream or raw coconut. Was told it tasted like coconut cream, which was the right answer because I hate raw coconut. Sadly, there was raw coconut on top, so while the cake was neutral and the frosting was creamy, the raw coconut on top changed the taste of the whole thing. It was also a small cupcake, the size that typical people make at home! So $4 for the small cupcake was way too much. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

To say that this could be better than most desserts in the area & Seattle would be a very legitimate claim. The store is located at the corner of the little shopping plaza near KM high school. There are a bunch of parking spots and the store is relatively small but very charming. The lady that sold these to me was insanely nice, with a tattoo of the store on her right arm so you know right away that you're gonna like what you get and it's gonna be delicious. She clearly knows what she's doing too, because holy moly i've seen the light. Their cream puffs are hands down something everyone needs to try. I love going to this place, though it is more than 3 miles from home. If it were closer, I would go every week. I love their gluten free almond macaroons (12 flavors last I went), and they also have a delicious dairy free gluten free coconut cupcake with cream frosting. Sometimes I will order their Gf brownie or GF crunchy cookie. If you do not require GF food, they also have mini cream puffs. They also make cakes to order with at least 24 to 48 hours notice. I often stop by here after lunch or dinner at the Himitsu Teriyaki next door, which serves GF teriyaki (almost impossible to find elsewhere). There is also a nearby boba tea shop. read more

They also have other special flavors like green tea, pandan, and durian (!) which they can make but you must pre order (3 days ahead for durian). We also bought the pandan cupcakes because it's very rare to find this flavor. Another plus are the very sweet folks who work there- both with tattoos of the name of the restaurant on their arm!
