I was once a Tastea ride-or-die fan... but these days... it really keeps disappointing me, especially with the tough boba competition in the Bay Area. Honestly, it's not worth it anymore. My favorite honey boba was from here, something about those green pearls were also sweetened perfectly and were chewy! But the past two visits, the boba was HARD and definitely not good anymore. It really ruined the drink. On too of that, I'd order "light sweetl and the drink would still taste 100% to me. Such a bummer how downhill Tastea has fallen. I will not be returning anytime soon. You enter at the risk of singeing your nose hairs from the stench of bleach or other strong chemical agent. I don't know if it was for cleaning or pest control, but the smell was strong. At first, my friend and I had to walk out because the smell was too strong even while we were just looking at their menu. Later we returned with the knowledge that we needed to breathe through our mouth and make quick drink decisions! Other than the chemical smell, the menu is vast, which is a little overwhelming but they have some interesting combinations. The prices are a tad high for me, with most sitting around $7-8/drink for the regular size. You can customize the ice level and sweetness, and though it didn't matter much because my "low ice" still resulted in a lot of ice, and my friend's "low sweetness" resulted in a super sugary juice drink. Oh well. I loved my mango milk tea with mango chunks though! I'm not sure I'd try Tastea again, but if my nose hairs get overgrown, I would consider it. Jk. If ordering no ice means getting significantly less drink while still paying full price, that should be made clear upfront. Stopped by for the 5 year celebration! They were doing a promotion for buy any drink/food, receive a free peach me sweet tea/ lychee peachee/ or bootea shaker. I opted for the lychee peachee bc that's one of my favorites! Tried out the new tropical sunrise and it was delicious! If I'm feeling pretty tired and I'm craving a larger than usual size of coffee, I usually head over to Tastea and this is my usual go to location. My order is usually the 32oz house special coffee with less ice, topped off (extra cost with the extra coffee) with full sweet. It can usually last me a pretty long time and if you're into sweets plus love coffee, this is the one for you. They also have some pretty good snacks, I usually enjoy their popcorn chicken and their fries. Recently they even added rice bowls (popcorn chicken and some rice). The service is pretty quick, tho some days you'll be waiting quite a bit with how busy it gets especially Sunday after church. This update is for service. I come to this Tastea very often, about once a week. In recent months I've unfortunately had less than satisfactory experiences. Some of the staff are quite rude. 9/10 times they do not say hello or even acknowledge us coming in; they talk and laugh loudly with each other while ignoring us. Several times I had to bring to the staff's attention that they got my order wrong. More than once, I ordered boba with my drink and they did not put boba in it. One of the female staff rudely placed my drink on the counter and swiftly turned around and left into the back kitchen without saying anything. No eye contact, no thank you, no have a nice day, and of course no smile. Another time, I got the sea foam jasmine iced tea, and the guy made it so messily that the sea foam was dripping all over the side of the cup and onto the counter. He did not try to clean it until I said something. He hastily wiped it but it was still dirty, so I asked for napkins and he gave me exactly 1 napkin which was not enough. He did not apologize or say a word to me this entire time, and I got sea foam all over my hands. I just visited last night and they were cleaning out the trash. They left the lid of the trash can on the counter where they put people's drinks. I found this very gross and off-putting. I watched and did not observe anyone cleaning/disinfecting the counter afterwards. Always like coming here, but today the service was not good. Store didn't seem busy but I also I understand if there are a lot of online orders. The thing is I see a lot of workers that seems to be joking around and yelling in the back in a playful way. I was waiting in front of the register for about 5 mins with no acknowledgment. Decided to place the order on the app as I sadly figured it would be quicker than waiting at the register. I would usually give this place 5 stars but the fact that there was no acknowledgment by staff that I was waiting in line just didn't rub me the right way. Also on some occasions I'd place an online order for green boba but when I receive, it ends up being regular boba cause they're out. If you want green boba it might be safer to order in store to verify in advance. Love their butloada fries as the seasoning is different than a lot of other places. It's delicious. Simply because I don't want my tea too sweet and I want fresh fruits as toppings. This drink has chopped longan as fresh fruit but it's not cut to correct size to travel through the straw. I have been going to Tastea since my high school days and it has always been a solid boba tea place to go to since it is close by. The best thing about Tastea is the amount of promotions they have when you have their app. You can collect points to redeem various rewards and participate in promotions when they advertise them. Ordering ahead through the app allows you to get your drink nice and quickly if you are in a hurry. The store inside is clean and there is plenty of parking outside. With the amount of deals they have through the app, I would say this boba shop is one worth going to. Thai Tea: Usually the Thai Tea here tastes really good and has great flavor, but there are times, like today, where it is overly sweet. I came by this boba shop today to try their tea and ordered a large jasmine milk tea along with some food for pickup around 12:50. When I arrived, the drink itself was pretty good. It was smooth, fragrant, and just the right amount of sweetness. However, what really stood out to me wasn't the drink. I noticed there was only one worker behind the counter, and when I asked if she was alone, she said yes. I was honestly shocked. It was a hot day, and you could clearly see the stress and exhaustion on her face. She had to take orders, make drinks, run back and forth between the front and the back, handle the register, and manage a growing line of customers all by herself. It felt wrong. Tastea has always been one of my favorite fruit tea spots. The service is friendly and they are always willing to adjust your drink if you don't enjoy it. I wished there was more seating available at his location especially since it's pretty spacious inside. I recommend ordering online to save time. I got the Mango all the way with 0% sweetness because the drink is already sweet. For their slushy freezes in general, I recommend 0% sweetness. It tasted so refreshing. The drink contains raspberry but I don't really taste it, it mainly just tastes like mango. In general, my favorite tea here is the Peach Me Sweetea with boba. The strawberry and peach bits really add on to the drink. Their matcha strawberry milk tea is also pretty solid here. read more
