I ordered trays of aloo parata and gobi paratas and they were very disappointing​. There was literally no filling of the potatoes or cauliflower, just very thick, tasteless and empty. I was given no compensation or replacement by management. Both trays of food ended up in the garbage. ​ i have eaten here in the past and the food is tasty however I would definitely avoid ordering the bread items ​ bulk. I ordered the naan for a party as well in the past and they were not the same fluffy kind you get in the restaurant, but here I am 2 years later decided to try them again. ​big mistake. read more

They raised the price for the lunch buffet... it is now $22.99 a person. That is way overpriced. We were not given notice of the price increase. The buffet had a couple of more items but we are very disappointed and won't be back. It is a shame because we were regulars and we have dined here 18+ times. read more

Celebrated my cousin's birthday here last weekend. We had ten people and unfortunately only had circular tables meaning when they put them together there was awkward gaps we had to sit in that didn't allow us to face everyone at dinner. Besides that, I really enjoyed this place. They have a large menu with all the staples of a good India spot. They also ask you what spice level you want which is also a great indication of a good place. We ordered a ton from chicken and shrimp tandoori to rogan josh as well as naan, samosas, pakora, biryani, chicken curries and plenty of mango lassis. It was all delicious and would definitely return to this cute little Indian restaurant. read more

We've been loyal customers of Taste of India for years, but after tonight's experience, never again. We paid $132 on DoorDash and received what can only be described as a tiny bag of disappointment. The bread was ice cold and hard, like it had been sitting out all day. The so-called chicken tikka masala didn't even have any chicken--just a small container of watery sauce. Not a single piece of chicken. The paneer dish was a bizarre color and completely inedible. For the price we paid, this was a total insult. What happened to the quality and care this restaurant used to have? Absolutely unacceptable. This place has completely gone downhill. Save your money and look elsewhere. read more

Staff was super friendly and helpful but I ordered mild and it was still way too spicy. I wasn't the only one requesting less heat. The garlic naan and samosa were spiceless enough to eat but the Aloo Gobhi was inedible for me. I probably wouldn't eat here again until they can honor a spice level. We ordered takeout for the first time and had samosas, garlic naan, chicken makhani and saag paneer. The samosas were packed and still crispy. The garlic naan was perfect for scooping up sauce. The chicken makhani had a ton of tender meat and sauce was slightly spicy. The saag paneer was also good, but at this point, I couldn't tell if it was also a little spicy or if it was leftover spiciness from the chicken. Who knows! The low heat sneaks up on you. This is what I ordered for two and we had plenty of leftovers. Portion sizes were decent and everything was flavorful. We will be coming back to try more dishes. read more

This place is going downhill fast. I always go n for the buffet. last time i went they had minestrone soup and basil pasta. I don't go for indian for italian food. Give me chicken 65, some samosas. In short: Absolutely wonderful; eat here often. Taste of India is a little Indian restaurant located in a strip mall in Willowbrook, IL. It's a small, but cozy restaurant. One of the things I noticed right away was the music! It was fun to see and hear Indian pop music. The food was simply amazing. First out was the papadosas with green and brown chutney. I normally don't care for these, but the papadosa is very tasty here! I thought the green chutney was tastier than the brown chutney. For the main dish, I ordered Karahi chicken, which is sautéed to a tender in a tomato sauce, with spices like coriander/cilantro, and vegetables. In this case, green bell peppers and onions. I wasn't asked for a heat level, but it was seasoned just right. The flavors mix very well and I noticed what made this dish stand out was the abundance of coriander. I'm not used to seeing this much coriander in this dish at the places I normally go to. I also ordered one piece of plain naan. I love naan bread- especially thick, chunky naan. What we've got here is a thinner naan, but still quite tasty. Also ordered was plain basmati rice. The rice was cooked perfectly. I read the negative reviews about service and portion size/price. The service I experienced today was excellent. Waiters were courteous and my water was refilled three times. As far as the portion size, I think the price for the amount provided was good. I left with a full belly. The only thing I thought was odd was that the menu was a la carte. Indian restaurants I normally frequent offer rice and one piece of naan with the meal. With consideration to the amount of food given for the total price of my meal, I felt this was money well spent. read more

We eat Indian every chance we can because we don't have it in our hometown. This is the best we've ever had across multiple states and probably 15 years of eating Indian!! Man oh man, this past Saturday, we had a craving for some Indian Buffett. The last time we ate at TOI, the food was outstanding just like it was when the previous owner and her team prepared the varied selections served at the buffet for at least a decade or so before they sold the restaurant. We even told the new owner that we really enjoyed the food: So with a good appetite and a positive outlook we arrived a half an hour after they opened. But...nothing on the buffet table was warm or fresh, the cut up cucumber was wilted, the Chicken Masala was stiff / hard, no variety, just four entrees, two types of rice and the fried miniature corn cobs and some sort of vegetable patty were stone cold. We tried to politely ask to the wait staff to see if the burners were working but they didn't get our request. Disappointing. I looked around the room and all the other people seemed happy with the food. I know what expect from this restaurant but I believe this will be our farewell visit. I truly do not enjoy writing a negative review especially at what was a down the road go to restaurant with many great memories. As we left we spoke with the owner and told him about our experience, he gave us a deer in the headlights look. Maybe it might help with future buffet services who knows. Man oh man. read more

The food and service here is worth every penny. If one dish maybe be off which is rare, eat the other 15 perfect dishes. We order takeout on a pretty regular basis from Taste of India. Their food is always excellent, and they have the best variety of curries in the area. Another bonus is that their food is very consistent, which means every time we order from there it's always delicious! The other great thing about ordering from Taste of India is that there is always leftovers to enjoy the next day. We've ordered from some other Indian restaurants in the area, and getting a tub full of sauce with two pieces of chicken seems to be the norm at other establishments. Never a problem at Taste of India! I usually order the chicken korma with medium spice level, and you can't go wrong topping off one of their delicious curries with their wonderful kheer for dessert. read more

My first time here and I'm pleasantly surprised. My regular Chinese buffet close down through covet so I was so so happy to find the place right in Willowbrook. These are all pictures that I took today. I sampled everything and was impressed with everything. I spoke with a man who seemed to be the one in charge who was so fabulous. His name is Balla. He was kind and courteous on the phone when I call to ask questions and he said I hope to see you. He was very pleasant. Not in a hurry to hang up the phone at all. Just a very nice person talking to another person in a very nice and respectful way. You don't see that very much anymore. Anyway I have nothing to say but good things about this place. Everything they had on their buffet was fabulous. And I think it was only like $15. Not too shabby. read more

This place is under new management now and it sucks. I ordered Chole Bharat's and was given only the bhatura. It was a pick up order and when I got home to my surprise I got only bread. I called the restaurant and they said " chole bhatura only comes with bread" , you have to say "Chana chole" if you want the curry too. One wintry eve, we found our way here, at the recommendation, of a good friend. My Beau, is always on the hunt for desi cuisine, so I tag along, obligingly. Upon entrance, we were graciously welcomed, and ushered in, by the owner, who extended his arm, towards a booth. This gentleman, promptly took our order, and to all of our meal requests, he readily agreed.. Then, having placed our order, we took in the elegant setting, which seemed pleasantly pristine. Towards the front, I believe, rests a bronze god deity. Whilst throughout, the tables seemed spotless, and Indian paintings, hung on the walls, charmingly. Soon, a server, brought my spicy chicken soup, and My Beau's, milky mango shake..Next, he brought a bounty of dishes, lamb curry and rice, pillowy nan, and a pile of meat on a platter. The aromas tantalized..And the taste, of nan and grilled meat, kept soft, by the basting of butter, we'd asked to be brushed on top, was a treat...Once finished, with these delicacies, our table was duly cleared.. But of course, dessert and hot drinks followed. I do believe, My Beau, enjoyed his milky ras malai--how could he not?! As surely, we both relished, our after dinner chai... Less than pleased. Ordered 2 meals. No rice was sent and it was listed as additional which would lead some to believe it was for extra rice. Price was as much as the same business near my home that included rice. When I called they blamed the pandemic for not providing a full meal. Very disappointed in the customer service and for not providing the entire meal that was ordered. I generally order off the menu and not from the buffet (typically I avoid buffets at all Indian restaurants). Love the food here, but usually have it delivered. My favorites on the menu are: Tikka chicken, Onion Kulcha, Paneer Tikka Masala, Malai Kofta, Navratan Curry, Begnan Bharta, Pakoras (like theirs better than any others I've tried), Samosa (veg ones only though), Ras Malai, Mango Lassi. Really like the food. Serving guys we're nice enough. Reasonable price for what's available. However....Watched three people over 15 minutes return to the lunch buffet with their original plates despite a sign that clearly asks that you take a clean plate each trip. One guy took his plate up and I watched a piece of gnawed pakora spill off of his plate into the rice, which he picked out with his fingers. He had Apple headphones in so my ask that he read the sign AND keep his fingers out of the food went unheard. I guess you get a TASTE OF INDIA as well as a taste of patrons unfinished selections as well. These people passed right by the tall & the short dudes running the joint. Were they not curious about where these people were going with used plates? Were they even looking? Sorry, but I liked the food.
