Fantastic selection of NY products. Great beers, wines, syrup and treats. Lots of commuters stopping by to make their trip home a little bearable with beer and wine by the cup. Looking forward to coming back when we are in the area. You should too!

Today is opening day and a fantastic day for Taste NY - Grand Central, and New York "Eating their own dogfood" so to speak! Operated and Curated by the One Woman Winery, one of my two favorite wineries on the North Fork of Long Island and a tribute to the hard work of Claudia and Gabriella Purita, and fantastic wines that they produce. Featuring all New York themed wines, beers, jams, chips, cookies, sodas, popcorn, cheeses, and the list goes on! It's conveniently located across from the Starbucks by track 36&37 at Grand Central Terminal! Stop by for fantastic NYS tastings of whatever they are pouring for the day! A great little addition to GCT. Reasonably priced. A nice selection of cold beer in the fridge to pop and go catch your train. Will check at the wine selection next time. ;)

I was really pleased to try out this coffee spot that also serves wines during the day, until I realized that my cappuccino was only half way through the cup, at most. Apparently I was the only customer at that time, so "too rushed" would not explain. Skip, enough said.

I've liked this place from the day it opened. I was taking Metro North from Grand Central, and just about to head for track 36 when I saw a nicely lit shop with wine bottles and an array of snacks. Instead of buying my little screw-capped plonk from the portable beverage stand I bought a One Woman Gruner for the ride, along with some high-end chips and cheese. Not only did I discover a female winemaker from Long Island that produces excellent varietals, but I had a great train ride. I closed my eyes and imagined I was riding in a 1950s bar car. I guess you can cruise GCT and put together a picnic basket for your trip that is as good as you can here. Here, it's one stop shopping, which is great if you're cutting it close to departure time. But I also value that everything in the shop is made in New York State.

She went above & beyond as I attempted to shop with my then 8 month old & my 6-year-old who had just came from the dentist & was under sedation. She saw me struggle as my daughter was dizzy from the sedation medicine, and she assisted me through the entire store and opened her register to ring me up. She was so understanding to a single mom just trying to navigate shopping after my 6-year-old had a major procedure done. I know to other people this may look like something so small but to me it meant the world & I fight back tears as I write this. THANK YOU SO MUCH LEANA WITH LUV & Appreciate. Oh, and to touch on the food there we know Trader Joe's is one of the best places to choose food in New York City since we're in a food desert so I'm glad Trader Joe's is around.!!

A few staple items were also out of stock, which was a bit disappointing for a regular grocery run. That said, the produce section was excellent--really fresh and well stocked, probably the highlight of the store. I'll be coming here more often while my usual UWS location is under renovation since it's still convenient for me, especially given it used to be my old neighborhood. It's not a bad store at all, just a very different energy, and it'll take a bit of getting used to.

We have developed a congenial friendship which was founded on La Fermière yogurts. Emre knows that I price shop so invariably I know when the time is right to buy these delicious yogurts at Eden. I often buy Siggi yogurts as here they are $1.99 each. The ladies - Dolores, Affou, Mamata, Savita, Tofu - at the checkout are friendly, kind and remember customers. A few speak French which I practice with them. Being originally Greek, the Dolmas in the prepared food section, are plump and particularly tasty. It's worth buying a few to take home. Adam looks taciturn but always is kind to me. He is behind the deli counter preparing sandwiches and always gives me a quarter pound of the Jambon de Paris. Miguel and Medina are also here. A loyalty card is worth having and once having accumulated many points I paid the princely sum of $1.61 for a pretty bouquet of roses in assorted colors that cost $11.99. Now that's a steal! Eden Gourmet is the sister supermarket to my beloved sadly closed Eden Gourmet of 14th street. This too is packed to the brim with fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, dairy, chicken and meats. A large variety of sparkling waters, frozen entrees, ice creams and assorted temptations are here too. A small bakery has cakes and pastries available. I pop in often to get milk or to see what's new and always to say hello to everyone. I always feel happy coming to Eden Gourmet Marketplace!

You'll get all the usual grocery store sections, including fresh produce and a deli counter in the back. There isn't a ton of variety, with maybe two or three options for most items. But those options are consistently high quality. Whoever is stocking the shelves has good taste! The setup for paying is a bit weird, they've got a long counter up front in lieu of the usual registers with lanes. It can make lines a bit confusing during busier times, but not a dealbreaker by any means.
