Was really excited to check this place out and I messaged the restaurant beforehand and they said they were finally open and were no longer doing a soft launch, so I was surprised when I arrived for dinner and learned that a lot of the items on the menu weren't available. The dishes I really wanted to try were sold out. I appreciate their effort to try and remedy this situation by putting together dishes with ingredients they did have available. The chef's special I tried was tasty, but it didn't take away my disappointment with many menu items being unavailable. The favorite dish we had was the Púlpito Bebe - the sauce and octopus was savory and they included soft delicious bread for dipping. The Chef's special came with wonderfully baked sourdough bread and the meat was cooked perfectly medium rare. The patatas bravas were okay, they weren't as packed with flavor as the ones at Barcelona Wine Bar. The Croquetas de Mejillones was also lacking in flavor. As for deserts, the Tarta de Queso de La Vina was lacking sweetness, and this is a critique from my friend who does not like sweets. It was also dry. If you are a fan of the drink Arroz con Leche, then you'll enjoy the Arroz en Leche rice pudding brûlée. The best dessert we tried was the Peras en Alimbar con Chantillí. Perfectly sweet and the sauce and whipped cream that accompanied it just balanced the dish beautifully. We sat outside in the patio area since I enjoyed the punch of color and summer vibes. Inside the restaurant I wish it had more color. The back room is decorated well but the bar area is dimly lit and lacks decoration or a pop of color. The waitress serving us was AMAZING. She was funny, informative, and did her best to find options that were available to try. She was working with what she got. Overall, for the price of the food I expected more. read more
