Their food was absolute pants and their service wasn't much better. Enter Sheesh Mangal, new kid on the block - on a recent trip to Worcester Park my fella and I made a beeline here for dinner to takeaway. I had my favourite lamb shish which you can have in a box with salad and rice or bulgar wheat, or in a wrap with salad (and lots of chilli sauce if you like it hot like me!), we also had grilled hallumi, some little kofte balls, an aubergine dip, mucver and Turkish pizza bread. I had it in a box so the succulent cubes of lamb came on a bed of warm bulgar wheat and the salad box was bursting with fresh lettuce, red cabbage, tomatoes, green pickled chillies, sliced gherkins and other yummy salad-y bits. It was such a delicious dinner that a couple of days later, while running late for a party, I sent my boyfriend off to get us both a wrap to eat quickly before we left. The wrap was, in my opinion, even better than the boxed option and was dripping with lamb juices and chilli sauce - you simply cannot look refined eating it but who cares, it's sex on a plate (or in a wrap in this case!) A definite star of Worcester Park High Street!

Went for the first time tonight : very friendly and great food…read more Fantastic authentic mediterranean food, starters are a mix of cold and hot dishes all fresh and cooked on the premises. we had tzatziki , humous and beautifully cooked whitebait for starters all served with hot bread the main courses are both varied and big. i had the park grill mix which consisted of skewers of chicken , lamb and adana kebabs served with rice and salad . My wife had a chicken shish which was so much she had to take most of it to go : You can watch your meal being cooked as it is an open kitchen which is really innovative for a worcester park restaurant desserts included pistachio baklava with ice cream a fantastic experience i will be back soon

We used to live in North London where Green Lanes is the place to be if you want good Turkish food. Not so any more. They've kept the decor of Delhi Heights, a mixture of eastern european nightclub and bollywood bling. The men's loo's are incredible with a changing lightshow. Strangely, this only adds to the atmosphere and charm of Istanbul Meze Mangal. Starting with a mixed hot and cold starters was a masterstroke and everything was incredible. Particular mention must be made to the tomato and cous cous dip of which I cannot remember the name. We ate Iskender, Kuju Beyti and my favourite Yoghurtlu for mains. Brilliant dishes all. The only critique I can give to the fabulously cooked meats was the lack of Iskender sauce on my yoghurtli kebab which I typically expect. Not to worry though, because at the mention of this I was very quickly supplied with a little pot of sauce which completed the dish perfectly. I live down the road and will definitely be back on a regular basis to this place. Fantastically friendly staff (who kept the phone I left for me the next day) really made our night fun.

The interior is a modern, stripped back take on middle eastern decor, but with traditional imported wooden furniture. There's a small seating area the front and a larger area behind the kitchen. The food is familiar Lebanese cuisine with hot and cold mezze for around £5, from which you could construct a satisfying meal, with grilled and roasted meats, fish and stews for the mains. We chose the vegetarian menu for two at £35, which provided a choice of 7 starters, followed by moussaka and rice. We had baklava to finish. It was a great way to introduce my dining companion to this type of food and everything was wonderfully tasty. There's a similar non-vegetarian menu for £35 as well. They're not licensed but you can bring your own wine, and they don't charge corkage. Service was polite and efficient, and they waited until we had finished the starters before bringing the main course, so it felt unhurried. The bright decor means it doesn't really tick the box for a romantic evening, but it is a good choice for groups or families.
