This restaurant definitely had I more local vibe compared to some of the tourist places up north. As soon as we got there I could tell the employees or maybe even the owner started counting up how many women are party and started to shuffling the tables around to accommodate us. This was definitely one of the highlights in terms of The food that we had. Everyone was happy with their dreams and their food We got the mixed grill which served for adults. The shrimp, the lobster, the steak, the chorizo all of it was a good mix. There was a lot of vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower as well as a salad. Someone else in our party got the enchiladas and a burrito and they're very particular about their Mexican food and they both said it was the best meal of the Trip. The only item I wouldn't order and not because it's bad just because it wasn't as good was the carbonara. I ordered it to split between the children and they actually loved it but if I were an Italian I would probably be left wanting.

The potatoes and vegetables that came with the meal were really good. The lobster was good, maybe a little overcooked, but I wasnt a fan of the steak. There was only one other guest besides me and we actually talked the entire time, so I didnt get much school work done, but it was nice either way.

Entrance is 1 street below the main one and there is parking on both streets. We parked above and had to go through an upper building that didn't look like it's been used... But head across the way, down a few inclines and then you see a few small infinity pools (some with tables to drink/ eat from), bathroom with showers, lockers, open bar and restaurant, lounge chairs with umbrellas, a patio bar and a place that you can use any of equipment for as long as you like for a refundable deposit (tips are appreciated). I am amazed there is no cover fee to enter or use anything, and no minimum you need to spend from what I could tell... The drinks and food were priced reasonably though and the guac we had here was heavenly. I think the best I've ever had! It wasn't too busy the day we were there and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Wifi was down due to being hit by lightening but who needs that with a place like this. We decided to try the snorkel, stand up paddle boards, single kayaks, and it was a lot of fun. The water was very calm, and you get to paddle out onto the most gorgeous blue water away from a ton of crowds and boat traffic. Unlike other places, there is no time limit, there is no roped-off sections that you are required to stay in. You are able to use and adventure as you please and it was wonderful. There wasn't a ton of fish except for around the dock itself, and no real beach at this part of the island, but the dock and equipment was in good shape. The stand up paddle board oars were pretty heavy for me, but no complaints. It was just great to be on the water. If you're in the area, definitely worth coming through!

Be sure to check out the aquariums, full of langoustines, not lobster. They're so cute. The bathrooms are tiny, and not so clean. But that's not why you should come to Isla Mujeres. At this bar, one of the signature cocktails is a face made from a hollowed out pineapple and filled with booze. Nom. The staff is quick, friendly, speaks some English, and the prices aren't soo bad. My wife's friend asked them to let her sing it, and when they refused, she raised her voice and told them to get off of the stage. The young men proceeded to call her a bitch and threatened her with violence. Immediately afterward, the same men in their 20s complained to the bouncer who then told us we had to leave. The young men who had taken over the stage for no less than three hours were allowed to stay, despite ordering little but the cheapest beers. Thankfully several strangers followed us out and apologized, but they don't work for the place so it did nothing to change my impression of the business. Don't give this place money. I'd take terrible food and poor service any day instead of consoling my wife over public humiliation. This was my worst dining experience to date, and I'm a man of 41 years who is no stranger to dive bars or sketchy venues. A bunch of drunk men screaming bloody murder at a lone woman at 11:15pm shouldn't happen anywhere. Avoid avoid avoid.
