A very nice winery with a beautiful view if you choose to sit outside. The staff here is very friendly. They have excellent food and great wine. I have been here a few times, this time it was for their wine and bloom. I will definitely be back. read more

The wine at this place is mediocre at best. The inside of the winery is very reminiscent of an asylum with no decor and cheap high school science tables. The bar is painted plywood lol. If you're looking for entertainment, you won't find it here. Do yourself a favor and do not waste time here. One star is actually too generous. read more

I enjoy dining there every time. The atmosphere is great. The food is wonderful (can't beat their steaks, salads, and starters), and the wines can be good too. One has to experiment a bit with what he or she likes and what is available from the winery. Set in a barn structure, diners can overlook the vineyard and rolling hills beyond while they chat with friends, neighbors, and the occasional out-of-town visitor. It can get quite lively and often fills up on summer weekend evenings. The servers are very friendly. If you find yourself there at a slower time (good luck with that), the owners might even be able to tell you some stories and details about what is going on with the winery. I always enjoy hearing what is happening with the grapes and their expectations for how fermentation, aging, and bottling will go. Because Tarsitano is a small-scale, family-run business, hours of operation and availability of menu items can be a bit of a gamble. It is best to call ahead. They do get busy on peak days/nights. If it's super hot outside, be ready to sweat. Last time I was in there, they had only fans running. The building was not equipped with air conditioning. That said, as much as I'd like to not feel like I'm eating in a sauna, I would probably miss the open-air feel of Tarsitano if they were to seal up the building and turn on the cool air. read more

This is my first yelp review ever. I have decided to start reviewing restaurants based mainly on good opinions. That being said, the food alone at Tarsitano Winery is enough to warrant 5 stars. I just arrived home from a trip to Italy last month and literally did not have pasta as good as they make it at Tarsitano anywhere in the whole country. Everything they make is fresh and excellent (you can see the chef cooking everything as the dining area and kitchen are all one large room). I particularly love the chipotle ravioli with a steak. The steaks are excellent, and I'm picky about my steak. Also, all of the salads and appetizers that I've had there have been great too. The best time to go is harvest season as the chef uses fresh ingredients from their own farm/garden in the dishes. The atmosphere might not be to everyone's liking, but I love the rustic one room barn with non-matching furniture and wood-burning stoves. There are only a couple of negatives, but the food quality overshadows these: - They have a very limited winter menu that does not include the delicious things I mentioned above - This is a winery, and sadly the wine is not the best (I personally prefer other local wineries like Harpersfield and South River) - They have very limited seating and dinner hours, so reservations are a must The people of Conneaut should be glad this is a little secret in their area, because if they moved to an area with a larger population, you would have a hard time getting a table there. This is the first restaurant on my personal "GUARANTEED GOOD LIST". That means I have eaten there at least 3 times and had an excellent experience every time. read more

This is one of my favorite places in the world. Quaint and cozy with AMAZING food (decent wine). We go here frequently with friends and are always so impressed with the food. Ken & Kelly are the best; warm and welcoming -- they make you feel right at home. The chipotle raviolis are my favorite! The chocolate cheesecake pairs nicely with the red wine. Last fall, they offered an apple pie that was even better! Maybe they'll consider adding fruit pies to the dessert menu. :) read more

Tarsitano's wine is ok, and the people were friendly, but we stopped in for lunch after seeing on their website that they are open for lunch, and we were told that they weren't serving food that day. Bummer! Very friendly though, and some of their white wines were good. read more

We have been here twice after having several friends from Cleveland tell us how fabulous it was. They were right. Talk about family restaurants and their charm and this is at the top of the list. There is nothing fancy and the wine may not soon be listed in Wine Spectator, but the service is friendly and the food is simply delicious. The menu is limited to pasta and protein, but there are lots of different flavor profiles from southwestern to Mediterranean. As a restaurant, this would be a hit in New York and San Francisco, so we're lucky to have it here. Now all we have to do is convince them to stay open all year. read more

My husband and I and some friends had heard some good things about Tarsitano's so we decided take the thirty minute hike out there to see what it was all about. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere and the winery/restaurant is in an old barn. Upon entering you could smell the wonderful scents of homemade baked breads and grilling meats. Yum. We were seated by a very friendly lady, which we found out later was the wife of the cook, the owners. The first thing on our agenda was ordering wine and appetizers. The red wine was a hit and so were the appetizers. As I said before the bread is made everyday so we decided to order bread with a wonderful dipping oil and another with olives, proscutto, and a herbed butter. We also ordered portobello crustini's. They were out of this world. My husband and I ordered a grilled chicken salad while the others each ordered the homemade ravioli. There were so many varieties available. They really loved their choice. The prices are a little high, but the food is excellent and so is the service. Highly recommended and don't forget to make reservations. read more

Like one of the other reviewers, we made the trek out to Tarsitano's to see what they had going for them. It was a Sunday afternoon, and they had hours posted on their website....to be opened until six oclock. We walked in(at about 4:45) to a wonderful aroma of cooking food, and settled in to a wonderful meal and okay wine. The food was great (the cheesecake excellent) and the service great! We were finishing our coffee, discussing how we could bring some friends out the next weekend and let them experience the food....when the owner came over and told us he'd have to "kick us out" ! It was a full 45 minutes before closing....and we were preparing to leave anyway...but having never been "kicked out" of well...anywhere....we left with a bad taste in our mouths. read more

My third trip to Tarsitanos was not a pleasurable one. The white wine which has always been marginal at best was undrinkable. The 2006 Riesling was bitter. When I mentioned to the owner she said that's the way it is. Three people at our table agreed it was bad. We left a $21. bottle of wine sitting there undrinkable. They could care less! My tiny steak ordered medium well was rare, and my bill was wrong. Other than that, we had a fun night with friends. We will never meet there again! read more

Always love going to Tarsitano's with friends for wine and dinner. I've probably been there 7 times and this last time was not up to par. Friends ordered a bottle of Riesling and it was not good at all. It was a bad bottle of wine, very tart, vinegar taste, undrinkable. When we notified the owner, we expected her to at least taste it. Her answer was " thats how it's supposed to taste", and walked away. This is unacceptable customer service. Next, we got our orders....steak. The steaks at Tarsitano's are some of the best I've ever had. Tonight was no exception concerning flavor. The problem is the portion compared to price paid. Compared to all of the other times I've gone there, this steak was approximately half the size. I have no problem with smaller, but, they need to reduce the price. Again, love the food, but changes will have to be made before I'll go back. I hope the owners correct these issues, it was one of my favorite places. read more
