Honestly, I think it was a rip-off the samosa's. I'm sure they doubled, if not tripled. Dip them into the hot oil because they had. Not a lot of taste. They were very dark. They were crunchy, which was good. The chutnee was watered down yogurt. Very disappointing, won't be going there again.

I had no idea that Chutney, a Pakistan restaurant, existed until a buddy of mine told me about it…read more What a sweet find, especially with the lack of Indian/Pakistan restaurants in the west end area. This place is where the old Lessard library branch used to be (which now has been converted to a mosque, crazy!). A buddy of mine and I decided to check out Chutney for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived at about 12:30pm and we were the first people to set foot in the restaurant. It wasn't very busy while we were there, with only three other groups coming in (two individuals and one family). By the time we left, they were setting up the buffet, with an intriguing selection of options to choose from. Next time! That or try their breakfast specials (weekends only). - 2x Vegetable samosa ($1.00 each) - our vegetable samosa's came out piping hot. Made in house and fresh, these were easily worth the $1.00 price tag. Should have got more! The mint chutney dip it came with was tasty but not spicy. - Naan bread ($1.99) - the naan bread was cut into four decent sized pieces, which was enough for both of us to share. This one was a little more robust and chewier, but it was, of course, perfect to soap up with the goat korma. - Goat korma ($14.99) - the goat was tender, flavourful and fell off the bone. We asked them about the different variations (there's also achari, curry, karahi, palak and vandaloo to choose from) and decided to go with the korma, which was slightly spicy and is a mix of yoghurt, cream, nuts and seeds. Seriously, goat is so gooooooooooood. - Vegetable biryani ($9.99) - the vegetable biryani was simple but helped balance out the rest of our meal. It came with a side of yoghurt raita, which we didn't really touch as it didn't add much to the dish. - Gulab jamun - we were each given a gulab jamun, on the house, to end our meal! Love freebies, so nice of them. These were light and most importantly, not overly sweet (which normally is the case). Service was super friendly. They ask you how spicy you want your meal to be (we went with a 6 but I'd recommend at least an 8 or 9 if you want it to be actually spicy). They were doing some renos in the back - according to our waiter, they are planning to grill meats and even have pizza soon! SWEET. If you're looking for a hidden gem, check out Chutney.

Tonight, I had an issue with my Uber Eats order where part of it was missing. Uber wasn't willing to correct it, and I was incredibly frustrated. As I was about to leave the restaurant after realizing the mistake, the gentleman there stepped in and completely turned the situation around. Even though it wasn't their fault and they absolutely didn't have to, he generously made up for the missing item out of pure kindness. That level of care and integrity is rare. The service here is always exceptional -- warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. And the food? Absolutely to die for. Every dish is packed with flavor, perfectly prepared, and consistently delicious. This is the kind of local restaurant that truly deserves support. Incredible food, outstanding service, and people who genuinely care about their customers. Do yourself a favor and order from here -- you won't regret it.

Only on the delicious food. We ordered Dal Makhani, a spicy dish with lentils and blank beans in a beautiful sauce. Also Fish Masala, Saffron Rice and some Naan. What a delicious delicious! The Naan was the only negative about that meal. It wasn't very fresh. Otherwise, everything else was so yummy. If you haven't been there or haven't ordered from them I highly recommend you try them. It's now my new favourite Indian restaurant.

The place is absolutely massive - they have a separate section for banquets/parties/events and then the main dining section (by the buffet). So back to the food. Best part - dinner buffet is only $14.95! So cheap. Food is actually really tasty and hot. There are a few salad/fruit selections but I was saving my appetite for the main dishes. There were 12 dishes (8 vegetable and 4 meat): - Rice * Lemon rice (yummy) - Palak paneer * Aloo gobi (delicious cauliflower, potatoes and interestingly this one came with slices of tomatoes and cilantro) - Vegetable pakora - Chickpeas - Lentils - Guferati (green beans) - Lightly battered fried fish * Goat curry (perfectly tender) * Butter chicken (nice and creamy and perfect sauce to complete my naan) - Mysore chicken Note: * means you should eat these dishes for sure. Really like the wide selection of choices and how there are lots of vegetable dishes to choose from. Service is super friendly - staff take your dishes and fill your water/tea constantly. Naan is made fresh to order and was delicious. Nice, fluffy and warm with perfect crunch to it. Music is hilarious - top 40 DJ remixes but it is in the background and isin't too intrusive. Just not what I would expect at an Indian restaurant. Stuffed as always from buffet but we were able to get a few bites in for dessert. They had gulab jabun (mini honey soaked donuts), mango custard (EAT this - nice and light) and kheer (rice pudding). All in all, really good quality and tasty Indian buffet! Go and check it out.

I just love it. Their veggie pakoras are also some of the best I've tasted - deep friend vegetables in chick pea batter. And the tandoori chicken's not imitation; it's cooked in a real tandoor oven. Outside of downtown, where I love to go to Haweli, this is the best runner up on my fave Indian food places. The butter chicken here - called tikka in makhani - ( you learn something new each day) is superb and I highly recommend dining here. After all, it's in a neighbourhood filled with Indian spice stores and specialty grocers, sari and gold jewelry shops. It's authentic Indian in the heart of Mill Woods a.k.a. Little India.

The veg samosas seemed like they needed more time for the filling to muster and cook and soak up the flavour of the spices and the potatoes were still not quite cooked. The mutton curry was very little meat at all and all bones and the curry was more like a paste than a gravy. The naan was good. The rice was well cooked and seasoned. The raita is advertised as "whipped cooling yogurt" and it was thin and runny and not very good to be honest. The dal makhani was alright but nothing special- lacked seasoning. The fish pakoras were their saving grace. I'd never had them before and they were tasty little morsels of fresh fish nicely battered and served with a nice and fresh tasting green sauce. Also, when I went in to pick up my order the lady wasn't wearing a mask until I came in- she put it on as I was approaching the counter. I almost turned around right there.
