I had no idea that Chutney, a Pakistan restaurant, existed until a buddy of mine told me about it. What a sweet find, especially with the lack of Indian/Pakistan restaurants in the west end area. This place is where the old Lessard library branch used to be (which now has been converted to a mosque, crazy!). A buddy of mine and I decided to check out Chutney for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived at about 12:30pm and we were the first people to set foot in the restaurant. It wasn't very busy while we were there, with only three other groups coming in (two individuals and one family). By the time we left, they were setting up the buffet, with an intriguing selection of options to choose from. Next time! That or try their breakfast specials (weekends only). - 2x Vegetable samosa ($1.00 each) - our vegetable samosa's came out piping hot. Made in house and fresh, these were easily worth the $1.00 price tag. Should have got more! The mint chutney dip it came with was tasty but not spicy. - Naan bread ($1.99) - the naan bread was cut into four decent sized pieces, which was enough for both of us to share. This one was a little more robust and chewier, but it was, of course, perfect to soap up with the goat korma. - Goat korma ($14.99) - the goat was tender, flavourful and fell off the bone. We asked them about the different variations (there's also achari, curry, karahi, palak and vandaloo to choose from) and decided to go with the korma, which was slightly spicy and is a mix of yoghurt, cream, nuts and seeds. Seriously, goat is so gooooooooooood. - Vegetable biryani ($9.99) - the vegetable biryani was simple but helped balance out the rest of our meal. It came with a side of yoghurt raita, which we didn't really touch as it didn't add much to the dish. - Gulab jamun - we were each given a gulab jamun, on the house, to end our meal! Love freebies, so nice of them. These were light and most importantly, not overly sweet (which normally is the case). Service was super friendly. They ask you how spicy you want your meal to be (we went with a 6 but I'd recommend at least an 8 or 9 if you want it to be actually spicy). They were doing some renos in the back - according to our waiter, they are planning to grill meats and even have pizza soon! SWEET. If you're looking for a hidden gem, check out Chutney. read more

Mashallah, what a great taste they have. When I reached there, there were about to close, but they agreed for take away. In just 20 minutes my order was ready. Ordered lots of food from this place for lunch , There rice wasn't cooked properly , the tandoori chicken was burned completely , no taste in fish all drenched in oil , we ordered large fries and we got half of box of fries and one package of ketchup, we called the store to let them know about There food and they said bring it back and they will check for us , and if not take pictures and show him the next time we go there , this place is honestly a joke , I had it delivered because we don't have time to go back and forth . A great little place tucked away off of Callingwood Road. The service is extremely friendly and prompt. The Buffett is well stocked and flavorful with many entrée's. The naan bread is average and the custard very good. We went with a two for one groupon which let is eat our fill for $20.
