Indian sweets!
Hans E.

Of the many, many Indian restaurants I have been to, some multiple times, Punjab Sweets had yet to thoroughly disappoint. Ownership changed hands on the last year and there is always the question of the standards remaining the same. I believe they have improved on a good model and made it their own. I like the buffet, it offers a few choices for an herbivore like me, at today's count there are 6 items not including the rices. For $16.99 for a dinner buffet, it's really quite reasonable. I have been ordering Samosa take out for a decade, and I will continue to come back. Service is good, and played are cleared quickly. New management is very friendly and counter staff are fast. Love this place

This place had been renovating over the past few years and the atmosphere inside got much better. Enjoy non-stop Bollywood movies playing on their flat screen TV's. The food has always been top notched. Samosas are the BEST in the city despite being one of the cheapest. Butter Chicken and Lamb Curry are my favorite dishes. Perfect with their homemade Naan bread. The rest of my family enjoys their spicy dishes too. We always go for either their lunch buffet or the more expensive, but with even more selection dinner buffet. Needless to say, we always leave well fed. You might want to keep your jackets in your car because the aroma of the food will stay with what you wear, unless that's fine with you. Before you leave, take home some of their traditional sweets from the front counter.

So delicious

Best butter chicken I've tried! I'm from Red Deer and the indian restaurants there are limited. Since I've moved here I've tried a lot of indian restaurants and this is by far my favourite Indian buffet. The place isn't really good looking but the food makes up for it. I rate this 4/5 because one time, I went to have lunch with my sisters and the naan bread seemed really flat (not shown in the pictures) and not properly cooked, it was still edible though. Other times it was great.

We go a long way to stock up on Samosas ! Very tasty, and best price in town ! All 4 of us enjoy them ! Buffet is always well prepared and we'll stocked ! Naan, Pakora, all kinds of chicken. . And then, dozens of sweets , for desert.

Chili Hot Pot is one of my favourite Edmonton restaurants. Since takeout isn't really an option…read morewith hot pot, I hadn't been here in more than 2 years thanks to the pandemic but last night I came back for the first time and it was like seeing an old friend. In terms of covid-19, they have done their best to add dividers and spacing between the tables but most importantly, they made some major upgrades to their ventilation system. In the past, the humidity of the soups left a permanent haze in the air but no more! Every table now has a vent above it. Chili Hot Pot is super vegetarian-friendly. Just make sure you request your soup be made with "clear water" rather than broth. My go-to if I'm craving some spice is the satay but if I want something more mild, the Chinese herbs soup is a great option too. Hot pot is kind of a choose your own adventure meal so vegetarians are able to eat all the veggies, noodles, and fried dough as you can handle. It is all you can eat so I recommend ordering a little of everything in your first round and then ordering extras of your faves afterward. Definitely order the deep-fried plain buns. Trust me! They are delicious mini sweet buns served with condensed milk for dipping. I have to stop myself from eating too many of them.

This was recommended to us by a staff member at the oxygen deprivation tank, so we thought we would try it. We did the all you can eat, if my memory serves me correctly it was around $35 per person. I've never had hot pot before so I'm not sure if that's average price, or if it's on the higher or lower end. The food was good, I had the Szechuan broth (VERY SPICY) like painfully spicy when you get a peppercorn stuck in your tooth it almost felt numbing hahah so strange. I thought it was cool a robot served us food, we ate around 3pm and it wasn't busy at all, grateful we got to have this experience

However, I didn't realize this location is in a seedy area of Edmonton until I saw questionable peeps loitering near the parking lot next to Travelodge. My cousin texted, "Where are you? We're here." I texted, "We are inside the restaurant." I didn't realize there's two different entrances. That's where gps led us. Best to park in the lot on the opposite side. Our Server was very helpful and offered to bring a separate menu in case we wanted an ala carte item. We're given water refills. Help yourself to various food stations. My faves were dim sum items and Deep Fried Steamed Buns w/ Condensed Milk. There were eight different ice cream flavors. Tiger tail and green tea ice cream were tasty, yet a little too soft. I loved the aesthetics of tea pot which worked in favor of keeping tea hot thanks to a mini candle. Also loved the tea which helped to cleanse my palate in between savory versus sweet. The food and dessert set up for Yang Ming Buffet in Alberta reminds me of the Mandarin Buffet in Ontario.

These are are a great option if you don't want to take from the buffet. But I would like to add that the buffet is very complete, always fresh and full. The meal we took is the deal for two, which included two spring rolls, two wonton soups and chicken fried rice, plus two other entrees (in this case, we ordered lemon chicken, and the beef and broccoli). Food that is served at Beijing House is very complete: soups and appetizers, chicken, beef, seafood, pork, vegetable and chop suey, rice, noodles, chow mein, and egg foo yong. The restaurant has very nice decoration, which is typically Asian. The place is great for lunch and dinner, and whether you are by yourself, small group or having a party gathering. Finally, Beijing House is a great place to dine, where good food is served and quick professional service.

We love kbbq but it's very expensive here in Edmonton, and there are only two in the city. It's located in an inconspicuous (weird if you ask me) spot, in a neighbourhood in front of a school. Parking wasn't that difficult to get. Upon arriving we waited 10 minutes for our reservation and we got seated. The vibe and atmosphere of this place is very family-run-authentic. The meats are served buffet style and you grab your own drinks from the soda fountain. Sides of lettuce, salad (my personal fave- amazing vinaigrette to cut the meat), kimchi, bean sprouts, etc. There were also a few variety of fried items. My favorite was the shrimp chips. They also have fried rice but no white rice. Which leads me to my next point-- Service: AMAZING!! One of the older ladies saw my boyfriend and I mixing our fried rice and kimchi to make kimchi fried rice. She asked if we wanted some sesame oil and seaweed to put into our fried rice to make it more bokkeum-bap!! She came back with a bottle of sesame oil and mixed it in for us. The only downsides: They put a piece of parchment paper over the grill which kind of absorbs all the juice. The selection of meat is very limited as well. For 2 people not including our alcohol, it came to about $75 for AYCE. Not too bad considering it's the only other kbbq place in town. Will definitely be regulars!

Their selection is quite limited but they have all the essential items that are fairly fresh. However, I've had bad experiences here. When the staff lowered the grill temperature so it took longer to cook the meat, it didn't feel good, especially given that their time limit is shorter than other places. Moreover, when the staff urged us to eat more rice instead of meat, it just felt bad. Feeling judged while dining and leaving an AYCE on a half empty stomach is ...disappointing...I'd give them 4.5/10

Not the worst Sunday Brunch in Edmonton but not in my TOP 5. Quantity vs Quality at this Radisson…read moreHotel Sunday brunch. I came looking forward to the Sunday brunch. Who doesn't like roast beef, shrimp and a chocolate fountain? The advertisements in the lobby looked good (see photo) and at $32 a head it's not an unfair price. Unfortunately just like the food at the Lion Head's pub, this Sunday Brunch was a poor experience where nothing was quite right. With one of the largest selections of choices at the buffet this brunch looks great on paper but unfortunately it's just not there for quality. Starting from the top 1. The Carving station is dry and they will not cut you any piece except from the end. When you leave a piece of meat under a heat lamp, it's going to get dry. When I left he was still serving off the same piece of dried meat. People coming in later were still getting the same piece of meat that was served for 2hrs. 2. The Eggs Benedict speaks for itself(look at the photos). Who leaves Eggs Benny's in a warming tray with sauce on? Gross. 3.There were 3 hot mashed mashed potato tureens. THREE! Who needs 3 choices of mashed potatoes. The problem was , none of them were good. Gluey, as you can imagine from having sat there for hours . 4. The Omelette station looks great, and we tried it and noticed immediately these were not fresh eggs. I asked the cook and she said, they use liquid egg unless you specifically ask for fresh egg. The biggest problem with the ATRIUM is that it survives off of the teams and hotel guests that stay there. It doesn't really have to try hard to do ok. If you live in the city skip this over priced version of a Buffet Royale. I'm giving it 2.5 stars. Why did it get 2 stars? Nothing stood out, not one piece of food Why did it not get 1 stars? Great Service Lots of Free parking around.
