I hate the fact that this is the closest Target to me and even more so that I am writing a bad review because I love Target. My grip with this store is that it's a total Wal-Mart (that happens to be next door btw) in that they only have 3 cash registers open at a time. I had bought a DVD set of a TV series on sale a week prior. I opened it to find out it was missing a disc, this was a manufacturing problem and not Target's fault but I did want to do an even exchange for the same DVD so I could have the missing disc. I went to this store since it is closer to my house than the Whittwood one. This was a bad decision. I went to the Guest Services counter with my DVD and receipt in hand. I explained the situation to the guy behind the counter and he confirmed my issue and told me to go back to the electronics department to get the DVD and we would swap it out. I come back and he opens the DVD to make sure the discs were all there. This is where the transaction takes a nosedive. He then looks at my receipt and notices I had bought it on sale but since it was a week ago the same DVD wasn't on sale still and was now full price. He tells me I have to pay the $30 difference now. After going back and forth with him I ask to speak to his manager about this policy. The manager comes out and I explained the situation calmly to her. She said I was in the right and she also mentioned they had been suspecting this employee was doing this frequently. He would say a customer owed a certain amount of money because of a restocking fee or having to pay a price difference with a sales item like he did to me. He would then pocket the money for his own use. If they know this employee is doing this why is he still employed here? Beware if you shop here. read more

Came in to get some stuff. AC was blasting! Which was awesome because it's currently 97 outside. After my son and I picked up what we needed we went to the register. Well..."system was down" usually that means angry people and that's never good. Let me tell you. The staff here was AMAZING!!! Free popcorn, waters, and icees went around. Kids were happy and not jumping off the walls. It made the 30 min line for the register not seem bad at all. Smiles all around. The staff here today really went above and beyond. They kept everyone up to date on the status and were very courteous and apologetic. Love this target! Kudos to everyone on staff today! I stood at the counter of the Target store in Downey on Firestone for 20 minutes while a manager tried to locate an item over the phone at this store for me. She was trying to save me the trip of driving to this Santa Fe Springs Store in the event that the order was out of stock. The store manager (Tammy) at Downey gets big props for trying. I have been coming to this target for years. There's lots of parking at anytime of the day. The staff are always nice. I recently was just there looking for particular item and couldn't find it and couldn't find it as it's not something I normally would buy. After walking around to look for a staff member I came across Maria Galvan and she was AWESOME!!! Her English was not the best and she made sure that I found what was looking for. She walked with me until the item I wanted was in my hand. Now that's customer service. The only thing that I would say that's inconvenient is that I went in the morning and there were boxes all over the isles. I tried to get something from the frozen section and there were boxes blocking the doors and tried to let the staff member know that the box was blocking me and he did not acknowledge me. read more

While I prefer going to Target over the 'other' superstore on the same property, every time I walk into this location I have to hold my breath, because the entire entrance area smells like sweaty old sneakers. It is probably the carpet that has soaked up dirt and grime over decades of use and it should be replaced with a sanitary and clean tile floor. The photo print area is a hit-n-miss in terms of staffing. I had good and very bad experiences there, depending on who runs the department at the time and how experienced they are with the equipment. Some staff will assist with using the machines, others leave it up to you to figure out how THEIR equipment works and prefer playing on their phone while you try to figure out which button to push to get the next photo set for printing. The other general merchandise area of the store is large, well stocked and nothing to complain about. As usual for all these superstore chains, staff is rarely to be found anywhere, so you better know what you want because finding and asking someone can send you on a journey thought the entire store, often times taking you back to the customer service counter (by the front entrance) because store staff and cashiers can not answer specific questions. read more

Reading this low rating reviews I'm surprised. I really like this location. They don't give me a hassle with purchases&returns. I always get greeted by mostly every employee&ask if I need help. It still stands that I'm the Duke of checking in this target. Reason being is that I'm comfortable shopping here, its about average store, not nearly as updated like some Targets but it can get by. I can't explain about Target customer service you walk in what do you expect ? a warm welcome Target bulls eye to the head? But anyways most of the time they have what I need, except for brown packing tape? many times I walk to check the stationary aisle I see an empty peg for brown packing tape and for weeks they hadn't replenished. Here's my demand for this Target please upgrade for a new Food Court!!! Parking is always easy here that's because not too many come here during the weekdays. On weekends foot traffic here isn't overwhelming and this isn't one of those Targets where you see lines stretching out to the toddler department. They remodeled, with an addition of a produce section for better variety to do some grocery shopping. Argh!!!! I forgot to buy me my Old Spice deodorant !!! now i would have to come back here tomorrow because anything is possible when your man smells like Old Spice and not a lady. read more

This was a pretty basic Target store...I think that I came in at the wrong time though. I decided to do some quick shopping during my lunch break and the employees were stocking all of the shelves...no matter what area I went to, there they were. Normally the workers would move aside for the paying guests, but not these Target employees. Oh no, they nearly ran me over like 3 times! I see that Target is also starting to cut back on some of items that I used to come specifically for because they had the best prices. There were only 2 cashiers during this time of the day, so there was a bit of a wait, but not too long. My total time in and out was 35 minutes, not too shabby! read more

Store is okay. Nothing to write home about. The bathroom is horrible though. Most of the toilets are broken, don't flush or have some kind of waste on the floor. The doors don't lock and the only handicap stall has a missing lock. The products are generally the same as any target. Beware if you're trying to buy a product that requires you to provide you ID. They insist on scanning your drivers license into their register. It's one thing to have your debit card compromised it's another thing for them to gather your drivers license information. Can get a new debit card number I can't get a new drivers license number. I have been shopping at this Target for years and in the last 3 months I have noticed a huge shift. Every time I go in I am asked by at least 5 employees if I need help. The other day an employee helped me find the right size tee shirts for my son and I didn't even ask. I recognize and appreciate the push for improvement in customer service. Well I can't say this is my favorite Target. The prices are a bit higher than Wal-Mart. But at least it is usually not that busy (at least not for me). It's in decent shape (clean and tidy), but the snack bar is a bit messy & sticky. There is trash on the floors and tables and something that sticks to your stuff. The staff at this Target are courteous, friendly and helpfully. Especially the manager that I met. Of course some of the employee's make mistakes just like most people do. So I don't get to annoyed when things don't go perfect for you. But over all, I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to avoid the Wal-Mart crowd. By the way, the girl that is running the food court is actually sitting a few tables down from my wife and I. You would think that with all the sticky tables and trash on the floor, she would be a bit more busy. Maybe the next girl that just showed up will do better. read more

I've been shopping at this Target for a couple of years now since it's less than 2 miles from my house but I think I won't be returning again. It is not the best Target in the world but for the most part it's decent...generally clean and the associates for the most part are friendly and helpful. The reason for the low stars is their newfound policy on the beauty items. I purchase my regular Nuetrogena face moisturizer from Target. A few months ago I came it to purchase it only to find it in a locked cabinet where you have to call for assistance. Fine, the associate comes in less than a minute. The woman explained to me that it was locked in a cabinet because people were stealing. Fine, I get it. But today I come in and same thing but I can't even read to see which product I want because of the locks...anyway the associate comes, I make my selection only to be told that if I'm not done shopping she has to take my product to guest services and when I'm checking out, I can tell the cashier to go get it. I'm sorry but the lines here are long enough as it is without an additional delay for myself and the other guests that may be waiting behind me. And my experiences with guest services finding things here has not been great. Needless to say, I did not waste my time purchasing the moisturizer or the items in my cart today. Note to the manager - Inconveniencing paying customers for the few items that have been stolen doesn't seem like a good way to keep your paying customers satisfied. I came all the way to this Target just coz the ipad I wanted is available only here. When I came here, the box is unsealed so I asked for another stock. The guy named IVAN, told me there's no more stock even though I told him any other ipad color is fine. He told me no more stock so I agreed that he would just cancel my order. So I went on their tech section only to find out that they still have another unit, in a proper sealed box. Thinking that he really cancelled my previous order, I went on to pay for this new ipad. When I checked my email, I received an email saying my order had been picked up! So I went back to the guest services to clarify and ask for a receipt or anything that could be a proof that I didn't received the unit. That same guy, IVAN, couldn't give me one for the reason that "they simply can't". I asked why and I was told it's all up with target.com. The thing is I was really worried that I get charged for 400 bucks for nothing and I don't have much free time to go back and fort that store. He told me to just come back to that store if I get charged in my card. Waste of time! That guy was really rude, kept telling me I was too emotional, I mean come on, you've been making everything difficult and what do you expect me to sound like? Judgmental, unhelpful, very arrogant, disrespectful. And so I left the store with JUST HIS WRITTEN NAME on a paper just coz I don't want to argue anymore. When I got home, I called customer service at target.com only to find out that it's not in their system that it's been returned or cancelled. And I was told that I shouldn't left my unit there with me having shown my ID and all and that I am still gonna be charged $400. It's a waste of time that I had to drive back to that store same day to clear things up again! It's so frustrating! I don't know but there's really a huge problem with target online ordering system and that guy in Target. When I came back that same day, I was reassured by the store manager, JESSICA, that it was really returned and I just have to wait. Guess what? Few days later, my bank actually charged me with the ipad that I didn't actually get! So I had to make calls again and they told me to come back in their store! That's what I've been telling the arrogant guy, IVAN, that I don't want to go back to that store coz it's far from my place. And yet, he was like, "I know what I'm doing" but it turned out, he didn't know what he was doing! Waste of time, effort and energy! And the store manager, JESSICA, I mean did she really checked on her staff when we talked to her about our concern? Obviously no. IF I CAN GIVE NEGATIVE STAR HERE I WILL! I am 25 years old and autistic, and I applied online to work at this Target since I live close to it. and my family has fallen upon hard times. My mom is out of work, she has shingles, and is waiting to be approved by Social Security for disability. We are barely able to get necessities without the help of my grandmother, which in turn, makes mom feel like a loser. I have been applying for work at different places, since we can barely pay bills and by little brother Ryan is starting high school soon, so I can buy some new clothes for him. I was psyched that Target got back to me for an interview, and I showed up for the interview and I did great (or so I thought), until I mentioned that I am autistic (which I do all the time, I can't help it.) The interviewer, Victor, was nice, and he said that I nailed it, and he told me to wait within a week or two to get a response about my job. Two days later, I got an e-mail response stating that this Target has no available positions for me. This Target discriminates against autistic people like me, I totally believe they did that to me. My mother believes this as well, and my grandparents want to get a lawyer for me. My mom also wants to call KIIS-FM to tell Ryan Seacrest about my plight, or contact him via Twitter or his webpage. I have just graduated from college with an AA, and I do not deserve to be treated like this. Social media is the way mom wants to hit Target where it hurts. I can't help that I am autistic, and I am smarter than most people who work there. I am very hurt, and the more mom sees me hurt she gets more stressed out. The East LA Regional Center, which I am a client of, has lawyers on retainer to help take care of this matter. Life is supposed to a series of ups and downs, all our family has had are downs for the last two years. I am trying to help my family and now this. Mom's shingles are worse because of this incident. Target should seriously do some damage control, before this hits the media. Mom has been getting prescriptions from Target in Norwalk for a while, and she is thinking of boycotting all targets because they obviously all work the same.
