A decent location, but one increasingly plagued by solicitors at every entrance and exit. I personally don't have a huge problem with the kids hustling candy bars as they're usually polite and not super pushy-- the folks with the clipboards are another matter. It's awkward enough to run the gauntlet of people asking you to sign petitions or confirm voter registration when you're in a rush or just want to get some shopping done in peace. Recently I've noticed that some of these volunteers can get bizarrely passive aggressive and impatient whether you hear them out or not. Target's own policy prohibits solicitation and petitioning at their stores. Maybe they tolerate them if it leads to a boost in people opting for curbside pickup through the app. read more

You can place an order and they'll let the store close before notifying you they're beyond. Just spoke with a store associate who was called to Optical to answer my call because absolutely no one in the entire store is answering any of the phones in ANY department (at this time period of 10:15 to 10:40 AM on a Thursday morning.) This female-sounding store employee began admonishing me as though I was a child, claiming that I was "interrupting" her, commenting continuously about my speech, while also claiming that my experience not reaching anyone was unusual, and that she would make a report that the store phone service was out of order. She claimed that all unanswered department calls would rollover to her. Horsefeathers! I called every prompt on that store's menu this morning, including Human Resources, and NO ONE answered my calls after numerous rings except on the second try, Optical. The above-mentioned store employee who was thankfully called over to Optical to take my call on the third try, claimed that she would've gotten my call, if the phone system had been working correctly. But she continued talking very indignantly to me about the manner in which I was talking to her. My advice? GET OVER IT AND HEAR CUSTOMERS OUT. Her lame excuse, as snidely presented to me, was an excuse, not a reason for not receiving my calls. This morning's experience happens EVERY TIME I CALL THIS STORE. At least last year when I called the store and the very same thing happened, a live agent in Human Resources got someone to answer the phone in the department I was calling at that time. I realize that this is a new day and age of automated online everything, but at least have a live store operator who can field calls to departments so that questions can be answered. I don't want to waste bus or rideshare travel time and expense going to a store that does not have in stock what I want. This is still by far my favorite Target location however recently the bathrooms have been really bad and there have been a lot of homeless people around the store. Kristi and Jenski or Jen are awesome at customer service! They honestly need to be bumped up to management level because they work so hard! Yes the DVD was open because I was getting ready to watch it the other night...here's the problem...the damn thing was cracked when I opened it! Often it's so intrusive that they have full blown setups with tables and multiple people IN FRONT OF BOTH DOORS. You cannot walk in or out without being asked to sign something. A few years back, when we discovered that 'Pedro was finally going to get a decent "big box" retailer, we were ecstatic... No more long hauls to Carson, Long Beach or Torrance, so yay for us. While this particular Target may not be the largest, may not have the all the items we are looking for, or may not even always be the cleanest of Targets, (I mean, it is a target, folks), they do, generally speaking, have a good selection of electronics, health / beauty care products, (for the wife of course), pet supplies and seasonal items. And, I will say this... 95% of the time, this store comes through with exactly what it is that we need!!! Clean restrooms if nature calls, a Starbucks on site and plenty of parking to boot!!! read more

Terrible Target location. Staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. They aisles are usually littered with open food wrappers and trash. Items will say they are in stock on the Target app then be out of stock in store. The items are rarely priced on the shelves accurately. There have been many times that items will say one price on the shelf and then ring up at the register for significantly more. read more

Where to begin? I ordered drive up for a few things. I picked up my items 3 hours later and they gave me moldy bread. The parking lot is scary at night. Homeless people, druggies, and criminals hang out. They also wander inside the store. I don't feel safe here. You don't see security very often. Shoplifting is rampant. At my recent trip to Target, the main purpose of my visit was to stock up on frozen food to replenish my freezer which is currently empty because it's been a few weeks since I went shopping due to current events. I wasn't shopping for any of the usual panic-buy items like toilet paper, bottled water, cleaning supplies, etc. Prior to checkout, I was told by a cashier that I was not allowed to purchase more than two frozen food items. It's not the cashier's fault and it's really not Target's fault either. However, these cashiers are going to continue angering people if they continue operating like this, so all of Target's employees need to be retrained on how to deal with this situation better. If Target wants to have limits, that's understandable, but those limits need to at least be posted on the shelves. If I had known about the limits before going to the checkout line, it would've been significantly less frustrating. Target shouldn't make the cashier embarrass every person in the checkout line who is trying to buy food. It's not right to put the cashier in that position anymore than it is to put the customer in that position. That being said, it's still unfortunate that frozen food is considered a panic-buy item that has to be limited, and especially at such a ridiculously low limit. It's time for Target to take a closer look at their store policies and make revisions that allow disadvantaged demographics to purchase essential items. read more

I had a coupon that she wouldn't take because it wasn't printed but her employee had already scanned it from my phone. I had another coupon on cirlce and she said to download the app to get the $3 off for diapers so I did...once I downloaded it she lied and said she didnt tell me to download the damn app. She refused to make any adjustments and literally argue with me while other people were in line. This target seems to be the one with with the worst customer service around the southbay area. Online orders are never ready when you arrive inside. Even if you order 3 hours ahead of time. Also, they never honor their online offers such as buy $50 of specific items, and receive a $15 gift card etc. If you never receive your gift card, they will tell you they cannot do anything about it . They must have incompetent managers, or are lazy to do their job. read more

This is poorest run Target store I've ever seen. The selection is typical of any Target, but they don't care at all about their customers. It's not easy to find what your looking for unless you frequent the store and are familiar with the layout. And there is no reason to frequent this particular store. If you ask an employee where to find something, you'll get a response like the one I got today when I asked where the kitchen department was: "I don't know. Over there somewhere." If that wasn't bad enough, there were only two registers open when I went to check out. Both had lines so long that they curved back into the isles. I stood in line for twenty to thirty minutes. The entire time several employees stood off to the side talking. At one point, one of them, apparently a manager, said to another, "Why don't you go over and open register nine?" The entire time I was in line, an additional register was never opened. Target charges way too much for mediocre merchandise. Then, without shame, they treat their customers as worthless. Target will put itself out of business soon. read more

I asked to speak to a manager and the manager even said they couldn't manually punch it in. FTP I placed my online pick up order at 9 am and someone at the store cancelled it on their end. It showed processing on my app. I spent 5 hours trying to call and nobody answered the phone, it rings and rings and hangs up. I drove their after work and they told me oops looks like it got cancelled. I just want my groceries! I work two jobs and I don't have time to go to the store, so now I'm late for my second job cause I had to stand in line and find out what was going on with my order. My card got charged, have to wait two weeks for a refund, and I guess we're not eating lunch this week. read more

I love shopping at Target. Big fan on their product and price. Recently moved to San Pedro (On Gaffey St) and this particular Target is the worst in Customer Service especially at check out counter. Not sure if there is any Manger responsible on that area. I often found SUPER LONG LINE at check out. The cashiers work super slow. I feel like they do not care how many people in line. They are purposely work in snail pace. Often time only 2 check out counter open in the evening. Not sure why there are over 10 check out counters there but only 2 has cashiers working. Floor manager should monitor the flow and put more cashiers to clear the long line in peak hours if needed. The self check out line has a policy for not handling alcohol product but you won't know the policy until you are at the kiosks. It is waste of people time. Why not put a BIG SIGN to alert your customers so they don't have to waste 10 mins in the long ?! All these things can be fixed easily. It is about management. I have decided not shopping at this Target until it has improvement. read more

I went to this target today and was absolutely disgusted. Walking in and out of the store are solicitors. One of them was a family of four selling candy bars, and they had their small child do the work while they sat there! I went into the bathroom and it was disgusting! There were used maxi pads and toilet paper on the floor and all the toilets we're not flushed and dirty. Often target has deals, if you buy certain items you get a gift card. I had the 3 items I needed to get the gift card. When I checked out the checker told me it was only for online purchases. Finally San Pedro got their own Target a few years back which is a great thing bc now my Target location in Torrance is less packed. I will admit that I am jealous of this new San Pedro Target as they have the ever so awesome new carts and handle baskets. Hope my Target gets an update soon. With this being a semi new location the staff does a good job at keeping the shelves well stocked, the store is super clean and the cashiers (even at the return counter) are actually friendly. I was beyond impressed with their grocery section. Fresh produce and all! I'm not a fan though of the line set ups that newer Targets. They never have enough staff to make use of all the double lines and it makes for confusion on who should move up to the open registers. There is a full service Starbucks here as well as a mini Pizza Hut at this location. read more

This is a real time update. With this location being under renovation, I'm downgrading from 4 stars, to 3 stars. There is currently no food, Starbucks or photo processing - just reporting. On a positive, the shopping area is unchanged, so the same great prices and selection set is available. I did get 5 star service the other day from Stefanie who was working the beauty section. I was looking at some skin products, doing research for work, and Stefanie was a huge help in showing me the options and giving me her opinion. Stefanie was awesome, she definitely helped me with my purchase decision. I look forward to having my home based Target refurbished with all the store capabilities/options at my disposal. read more

** This is for the STARBUCKS inside this Target ** I am assuming the Starbucks baristas who work are paid by Target, and not Starbucks. I can't believe Starbucks would hire such surly, rude, unattentive baristas. Before you "regulars" roll your eyes, I read other reviews and I am not the only ones who feel the baristas are curt toward customers. On Memorial Day, I stopped here for an iced tea with lemonade. I was charged $2.95 for the grande. So far, so good. I tasted my drink and noticed there was no lemonade. On the cup, the barista wrote GT, but forgot the L for lemonade. Lucky I kept my receipt so I went back to the counter. I told the barista that she forgot my lemonade. She looked at the cup and said that's extra. I replied "you charged me for the lemonade". She proceeded to ring me up for the difference!! (regular iced tea without lemonade is $2.25) I pointed the receipt and said $2.95, isn't that lemondade price? She took my cup, dumped some lemonade and said here you go. When I looked at her (I expected my drink to be re-made) she replied: "You wanted lemonade, didn't you?". I nodded my head and then asked her again "Was I not charged the right item to begin with?". She said yes, and walked away. No apologies for the messed up drink. Later, as I sat drinking my overly lemonade tea (I couldn't taste the tea!) a little girl ordered a mocha frap. I guess she didn't want whipped cream and her mom took it back. Rather than remaking the drink, the OTHER barista (older lady) took the lid off, scooped out the whip, tossed the cream in the trash, popped on a flat lid (versus a domed lid) and handed the drink back to the mom. Either these ladies are LAZY or refuse to make a new drink, or as conciencious employees, wanted to save the poor company money by not remaking the drink. I've experienced bad service before, but this Starbucks takes the cake. The 2 stars is because they did make my BF's iced coffee correctly. Otherwise those bitches attitudes suck. read more

I was happy to have this Target open up here in San Pedro. As of last month they even have a grocery section here where you can buy fresh meat and vegetables (though somewhat limited selection). They even have a Starbucks coffee here so I can indulge on a Frappacino on the way out! The problem I have with this Target is that they are seriously lacking in their selections in almost EVERY department. The Torrance Target just has more of everything...movies, music, electronics, bikes, plastic containers, food, bedding, lotion...EVERYTHING!!! I come here because it's close and convenient. If given the opportunity I will go to the Target on Sepulveda off the 110 Freeway. This place has your basics...just don't expect much more than that. read more

I decided to ask this associate where the soap was ..... damn you would of thought I asked her age.
