This is a large store with plenty of garage parking. It does get a bit crazy on the weekends but here's a pro tip: the 2nd floor of the garage is usually pretty empty since the store entrances are on floors 1 and 3. The shelves are well-stocked and organized. Plus, this store seems to have lots of those clearance sections at the end of the aisles, with many hidden treasures (folders, stickers, granola bars, make up, etc.). I always check! The staff is friendly, helpful, and I find that usually there are enough register lanes open. The upper floor has registers too, which are open during peak times. I appreciate not having to wait too long to spend my money! read more

While this location has been "refreshed" recently, my experience with online order pick up staff continues to disappoint. My most recent order of small three beauty items took over 7 HOURS to complete and came with an employee's food-crusted fingerprints on every item. The employees working the order pickup section spent a great deal of time talking trash employees (in front of a customer no less) instead of just doing their job. From now on, I will no longer be returning to this Target and will instead head over to ANY location except here. read more

I love Target, just not this one. The store seems unorganized and messy. I am sure it is hard to keep up with customers who pick up an item and put it back in the wrong section. I wasn't impressed with a handbag sale (buy one get one 50% off). The purses didn't seem to have much quality to them. After trying on one piece of clothing, I was ready to leave. Hubby bought a pair of shorts on sale but it was a frustrating experience for him. There wasn't a price tag. You never want to be "the one" holding up the line but the employee didn't have any sense of urgency and it took a while to find someone who could look up the price. I don't know what happened to this Target location, it's poorly managed. They have a bunch of teenagers running the store including the store manager. Even after you place an order at night when you come at 9 in the morning the order isn't ready or after waiting over an hour in the parking lot they can't find it. The store manager was lazy to look for my order so she told me to cancel it and when I refused to do so after waiting 45 min in the drive-up lot she said it would be easier if I did my own shopping. This was practically impossible since my little son was with me and was crying since I woke him up to go into the store. This happened at 9 am when barely anyone was in the store. In addition, they never answer the guest service phones no matter what time of day. It was so bad that when they forget to give me my dairy products I had to call the HR number to get someone to answer the guest service phone. I had a newborn baby with me and I could not go into the store. This store manager needs customer service training because she is lacking many skills if she wasn't then she wouldn't treat me the way she did. Her employees are following in her footsteps too. Either corporate needs to do some deeper look into this store because I don't understand how a big store with high volume can not fulfill a simple drive-up order and lose items. And when you call them they treat you as if you are bothering them. I don't know what kind of profit this store is making with this kind of customer service. Don't get me wrong I love Target but this one seems to be very disorganized and the staff are hard to find and not openly helpful. The produce selection is lacking and the clothes are placed in such a weird manner it makes looking for what you hard. Bravo, this is one of the most covid friendly experiences I've ever had, Target has really nailed it. I order what I need online and once I arrive to the store all I need to press is the "I'm here" button on the app, and within a matter of 3 minutes an employee places my order in the trunk and leaves. I don't even need to roll down my windows and speak, just show them my verification code through the screen and I'm good. 10/10 covid friendly experience by target. As for the store, I've been here several times before the pandemic and it's a nice target, nice, big, and spacious nothing different from other targets. read more

The way I see it: Target is Walmart's college-educated sibling. If I don't have the will to fight through the despair that Walmart imbues, then I go to Target. There are three in my general vicinity. This is my favorite. Having been in NC so long, I'm still fascinated by the little escalator for the shopping carts. The fact that there are registers on two levels is a big plus. They usually have everything I need, and the store is always clean. Cons: It's close to Chuck E Cheese and "the child" tends to use echolocation to make me aware of that fact every time we come here. All I wanted was to exchange shampoo that I had bought during one of their sales two weeks ago. I bought the wrong type. Prepared to make the exchange, I even grabbed what I was going to exchange it for. It was an even exchange (same brand and size, just wrong type). But the customer service lady, who was very rude to the two people in front of me, gave me an interrogation worthy of the FBI. She examined the bottles to see if I had used them (no!), removing the lids completely, searching for something to make this transaction go awry. I gave her the receipt which she immediately baulked that it wasn't the right one. She hadn't even scanned anything! Frustrated with the attitude and her lack of help, I decided to leave and come back when it was a quiet midweek day. The lady was not there this time, and I was able to do the even exchange I set out to do in the first place. read more

As this Target is in the heart of Rockville (it's around back the Montrose Crossing strip mall), this is probably one of the best stocked and busiest Targets that I've ever been to. But that said, it's also always been extremely neat and organized - and most of the lanes are staffed and open. However, the downside of it being so popular is that some items get sold out quickly, or items will run out before they can restock. Sad panda. But it's huge, two levels, and chances are, you'll find what you're looking for, just in a different brand/size/whatever. So close enough, right? read more

OK, I know I may have a slightly unhealthy obsession with Target. It is in part due to a carryover from undergrad shenanigans in which the roommates and I would go on Target-runs brought on by boredom, exam-induced anxiety, or mere procrastination. (We were known to wreck a bit of havoc... on instance even contaminating an entire aisle by spilling an open bottle of peony scented perfume... oh it was bad, they had to call in the hazmat squads. But I digress...) The other reason for my obsession should be obvious... I mean, they have nearly EVERYTHING you could want! I know I come in regularly for one thing and end up leaving with a whole cart full of purchases I somehow convinced myself I 'needed' in the hour or so I spent browsing the store. When I first moved here I was equal parts dumbfounded and giddy upon seeing the size of this Target (I thought it was huge... THEN I saw the elevator to the second floor). In general, I have good luck with this Target. I usually have no problem finding what I need (and then some). Bring the bargain-hunter and movie-lover that I am, my favorite section is usually the DVD sales. There is always quite a selection of movies for $5.50-$10. Plus there are usually compilation DVDs with 3-4 movies (for the price of one!). OK, well I could go on forever, but to keep a long story short... Target is awesome. This one in particular is well stocked. Parking can be a pain sometimes (as a note, you might want to forgo the first level of the parking garage and go straight to the third. This level has a direct entrance to the second level of the store). So what are you waiting for... go on and get your Target-groove on! read more

Unfortunately, this place is miserably overcrowded. Target knows its audience is massive, yet perhaps in an effort to reduce costs, it seems that this store has cut staffing to a debilitating point. As a result, it can take upwards of 30 minutes to check out -- in the express lane, with one item! The regular check out lanes are sadly worse. For example, 80% of the check out counters/aisles were lying empty, devoid of anyone/cashiers to run them. To compete with the growing online presence of e-merchants, the shopping experience must stand out. Unfortunately that is not a priority for this Target, due entirely to the long check out line times, regardless of time of day, week, or year. Looking for the Target in Rockville? Well...you may have to Yelp Mobile it or Google Map search it...because you can't see it from the [Rockville] Pike! For serious though - man, this one is like a hidden treasure. Tucked away on Bou Ave off of Rockville Pike is a ginormous Target. I've come here several times with some yelpers and my former roomie to pick up some odds and ends. I always manage to find the things I need (and things I don't need but want) at very reasonable prices. Just like in a Crate and Barrel store, I stand in front of the wall of hanging kitchen accessories debating in my mind which ones I really need. This time, it was a Kitchenaid set of steel tongs for ~$7. I also came to look at some photo frames. I didn't end up finding any I liked and all the ones that seemed decent enough were too expensive. (I needed 10+ and at ~$15-$24 a frame, this was not gonna happen). Maybe for just one or two but hey, I'm not made of money... (sadly). Parking is somewhat of a big cluster... but if you're patient, you'll be able to snag a decent spot. Overall, this is one of the nicer Targets to hit up and if I can get a ride here, I'd come here over the one in Columbia Heights (DC). read more

I can't say that I've ever experienced a situation like this at any store I've ever been at. Today I was checking out. The "gentleman" who helped me by the name of Anthony pretty much embarrassed me and made me cry.. yes I cried at target today.. that's a first. I simply asked him how he was but couldn't hear what he said and as I said "excuse me?" He yelled at the top of his lungs with an attitude "I said I'm fine" and "I don't want to talk about it". That's great.. I'm not your mom and I wasn't asking what you did today or if you cleaned your room. He yelled so loud that everyone turned around and were in shock. As I was leaving I told him that I hope his day gets better and once again he got an attitude and yelled out something. You'd literally think that I killed his dog. As I'm leaving a person of his same race starts to check out and he nicely asks her how she is and completely treated her night and day compared to me.. the man didn't even ask how I was... I had to ask him! At this point I'm mortified and decided to speak to a manager (I was going to let it go but after I saw how differently I was treated I had to say something). She was concerned and said she would take him to the side and speak to him but honestly didn't make it believable or make me feel like what just happened wasn't a big deal. I ordered face lotions online, it showed that if you ordered 3 or more items you will get free $5 gift card. So I ordered more lotions than I actually needed. Target.com did send me the $5 free gift card by email. I went to the local Target store to buy some stuffs and redeemed the printed $5 gift card. So far so good. Until I received my credit card bill statement, it stated that Target.com charged me another $5 for the gift card. So I called Target.com online purchase dept but they asked me to go to local store to resolve this matter, it's not their problem. Then, I went to the local Target store but the local store manager said that Target online dept should handle this. I felt like I was scammed by Target online purchase. They want to make customer to buy more items and give free gift card but in the end, customer still need to pay for the free gift card, it's not free at all. You're organized and always in stock. I never walk out feeling guilty because you sell things I need at reasonable prices. This is the closest Target to me. I just loves me some Target (or Tarjay as many people call it). Man how cool is it to be able to put your cart on its own escalator right beside you? Both you and your cart get to ride up or down the escalator together. This Target has two levels. You can purchase everything here from groceries to baby clothes to televisions and more. I think that is so awesome. You can do everything here but buy gas. I bet you that will be next. This location recently had a makeover to expand its food section. I must say I'm impressed. I have not been to any grocery stores in this area that have fruits and veggies that are paparazzi ready. Typically my red peppers are red with spots, etc. Before this location had its makeover the only way for me to get camera ready fruits and veggies was to go to a farmer's market or straight to the farm. There is a Pizza Hut located in this location on the upper level. They sell personal pan pizzas as well as an array of things you might not find at your typical Pizza Hut. There is a little area around the corner where you can sit down and eat inside that sports a slushy machine and soda machine. This location is off the beaten path. It is tucked away behind a condo across from Flagship Carwash near Barnes and Noble. There are no signs showing where this Target is. I typically go early in the morning or late at night to beat the crowds. read more

It's been going a little down hill over time, but I guess it's bound to happen when everyone at the store is making $6.50 an hour (my younger brother used to work there). There's another Target about 10 minutes closer to where I live/work (Wheaton...ehh...), but I go to the Rockville location because it's so much bigger, brighter and cleaner. Two words: cart escalator. Those two words tell you everything you need to know about this Target. They communicate the size of this place - two colossal levels of red and white grandeur. They also communicate the diversity of the offerings of this place, from the pharmacy and groceries on the ground level to the electronics and sporting goods on the upper level. The two words also convey the bi-level connection to the parking garage (skip the crowds and hassle on the ground level and park on the third level, which confusingly connects with the second floor of the store - the second level of the parking garage is entranceless - yeah, you know that's a word). One major sticking point for this place, which is less of a sticking point ever since the Target opened in Columbia Heights, is that getting here from Metro is life-threatening, to say the least. Yes, you can walk from either Twinbrook or White Flint stations (they're almost exactly equidistant), but one must cross a road 8 or 9 times, where the motorists of Montgomery County are so scary, you'll think every day is Halloween. Seriously, there are clearly marked crosswalks with walk signals, and yet I almost got hit twice by turning cars while walking from the Twinbrook station. Note to self: it's still better to drive on Rockville Pike. read more

Woow I went to ask for help at the pick up section and the old man who was there with another employee with red hair were just PLAIN RUDE! the man was helping a white lady and gave her really good customer service but when it was my turn he decided to start talking under his breath without offering to help me. This isn't my regular target, I usually go to the one in Silver Spring, but I've reviewed that one elsewhere. My issues with this one: The staff at the registers argue with customers and are rude. The "fresh food" section seems to have less than fresh produce. The layout is strange and awkward. And the parking garage is awful and unlit. Let me start with saying that I used to work at a Target in high school as a cashier. I've been around my share of Targets nationwide, and frankly speaking, this one is bomb. I really like this Target. It is definitely one of the biggest ones (Two stories? Really? They didn't have that at my hometown Target). Went to Target today with my mom to get some supplies like water and bleach to be safe from the virus . We had Maureen ring us up and she was acting racist towards us. (My mom and I are asian) we pulled up our shopping cart with 4 cases of water and two bottles of bleach , she was ringing up a Caucasian woman was smiling at her being talkative and as soon as she saw us she was eyeing us up and down with a look of disgust on her face. It made me feel uncomfortable I smiled at her and she starred at me back with a blank stare and I kept on smiling to see if it was just me but no she had a straight face didn't want to smile . This has been "my target" for several years now. I know where everything is. I get good service. I would give them 5 stars if they would sometimes clean and sanitize the carts. Not to happy with the changes they have made. They now have plastic shopping carts, they are to hard to separate and when you take the cart escalator they are a pain in the butt. Noe lets go to the new food section, blah. The bananas were brown, green and yellow.. I got a container of cherry tomatoes. When I got home they had black spots all over them. It is less great than White Marsh Target in terms of selection and maneuverability (even though the cart-scalator is pretty sweet) and the parking here is SUICIDE. I am always slamming on the breaks of my little Zipcar because Moms In Minivans are swerving through the aisles like they are on speed. Also, it just seems less...clean...in a way. This used to be my favorite Target in the area, but then they remodeled. I dunno why they added aisles and aisles of food, but they did. The customer service lines are consistently long, even late at night, and the parking garage is a bit of a nightmare (the spots are long and there are blind corners). I would give them 2 stars, but I do like the nachos at the food stand upstairs. And they always give me mucho jalepenos. Also, this location is open until 11pm on weekdays, which is SUPER convenient. read more

I like this Target. It has a parking garage ONLY for Target which is nice, but can get very packed depending on the day and time. The store itself is pretty big. The departments are big and they have a pretty good selection in all the items. It's always a workout walking throughout the entire store - love it. Customer service is good. Not overly nice, and not rude as hell. In fact, perfect balance of customer service. One downfall, is the fresh food selection is always kinda sad when I come in. It's fabulous having a Target in Rockville, as that means I no longer have to drive out to Gaithersburg for my much-needed Target trips. (I grew up in Wisconsin; I remember shopping at Target with my mom when I was a young girl and they had a bakery...I always salivated over the brightly frosted cookies they displayed, yet was shockingly disappointed when mom finally gave in and bought me one.) However, having a Target right off of Rockville Pike can almost be a curse. I avoid R-Pike like the devil on Saturdays, unless it's 9am or so. And at lunch time...forget it! What a zoo! However, I digress. This Target is big, clean, and located rather conveniently for those of us who call Bethesda home. The way it's organized, however, does leave something to be desired -- I am often confused as to why certain sections are far from other sections, or why particular items can be found in particular sections. Yet, if you are sick of spending $100s of dollars at your local CVS (and getting crummy customer service to boot), then drive on over to this Target, and you'll forget all of your CVS-induced stress. read more

This target is so weird to me. Its two levels, and inconsistent. Some apparel down stairs, some up. They don't carry woolite. Period. I'm a girl. I have 'delicates' and actually use that setting on my washer. Sometimes, I need woolite. I'll give 'em three stars for the sheer novelty of the cart elevator. Maybe I am going to sound tremendously naive here, but God help me I've never seen a cart elevator/escalator before. My wife was gouging my pride repeatedly because I was edgy about going up it, picturing myself as the one sad sack whose cart would tumble and it's contents would rain down on everyone trying to go up the steps. Well, it made it up. And it made it down. And I will probably be cool with shopping there in the future just so I can keep playing with the cart contraption. Other than that, it's a Target. Nothing special, although it is clean and it is extremely convenient and well stocked. I give this target only 1 stars solely because of the customer service. I was in the target purchasing supplies for my son for school when we couldn't locate the laundry detergent. There was a manager and a worker standing next to me- I said, excuse me. No answer - maybe they didn't hear me. I said it again a little louder. The worker turned to me as if I was bothering him and said yes. When I asked him where he laundry detergent was - he just said down that way. No aisle number or clearer directions. The manager said nothing to clear it up for me. They both left me searching for the laundry detergent on my own. I recommend further customer service training for this store. Not sure if it's an isolated incident- but the fact that the manager didn't clear it up is disturbing. I will write to corporate headquarters regarding this incident. . read more
