The Target store in Orange is a pleasant shopping experience. The store is clean, the shelves are well-stocked, and the employees (when you can find them) are helpful. However,I was surprised at the total lack of merchandising today. The end caps look like the merchandise was just thrown on the shelves. It was nice to be able to find all the items on my shopping list. Occasionally, we were even able to find items on sale that are a good value. The store is organized, and the aisles have plenty of room to navigate carriages without bumping into people or displays. There is a abundant selection of gifts for both the home and for children on your list. The check out system used to be very fast and efficient. Unfortunately, the self check out seems to always have some issues. Overall, there is plenty of parking and the positives outweigh the checkout issue and lack of merchandising. read more

This location is very clean and always has what I need in stock. The sales are always amazing especially with Target circle. The employees here have always been delightful. Especially, the drive-up worker who always compliments my car. I always leave with a smile. However, something feels very off lately. I have visited this location 3-4 times in the past couple weeks and I can't help but overhear the management issues circulating. There is always an issue "finding" someone to assist with problems in the checkout area (because whoever is in charge that shift never has a walkie-talkie.) This causes clear stress within the employees and makes for an uncomfortable guest experience. Management needs to improve for the sake of its employees. I'll spare details in order to protect these hard working individuals in customer service, but I just feel terrible for them. I witnessed a new trainee being treated very poorly for asking a simple question about closing their register. It's very upsetting to hear. I'm hoping this team can pull through and promote some people to management ASAP to keep the store running smoothly. read more

Overpriced, poor communication and nothing but bitter sexist women work here. My man was an employee the manager made him drive in snow at 5am made fun of him for it and then fired him for being bubbly and talkative because they believe only women can play this role. Me and my boyfriend went to Target last night looking in the Home Goods section and we were well aware that the store employee (not sure if he was a manager) followed us down every aisle. We would go to cosmetics and now I see him talking to his co-worker telling her to watch out for us. I say that because as he was whispering she was nodding her head and looking at us. Like there were plenty of other shoppers that needed their attention but for some reason they spent probably more than an hour pretending to clean or do some kind of work around us. I have never experienced this kind of treatment from a Target employee, but I feel like because we are both of a mixed races it was simply discrimination. In passing I mentioned I have been seeing him in my space all night. He answered so condescending," I have to make sure I'm here to help everyone." Alright, how much do you all get paid? I know those mannerisms were not in your pay grade. I was so busy trying to rush out the store that I did not want to even ask for his or her name. I know the woman was African American with braids and the man was Caucasian medium build and was working closely with her. I LOVE Target but not after that experience and my next step is bringing this to a corporate level. I hope no one else has this experience in the future. read more

I am a fan of Target stores in general, and I'd put this one about the middle of the pack for the area. The good: clean, well lit, well stocked, and has a larger selection of clearance items than most. The bad: The staff can be hard to find when you want help, the layout is a bit "off", and checkout is rarely a pleasant experience (slow with unhappy checkers). Overall, a fine choice if you're in the area. But the locations in Ansonia and Trumbull are better. read more

I have been unable to reach this store by phone call. I have tried calling the guest services desk and pressing 8 for all other departments and each time I call it either rings until it hangs up automatically or someone will pick up and then immediately put the phone down to end the call because I can literally hear the clicking. It is rude and unprofessional for the store to do this. I try calling at different times of the day as well trying to give them the benefit of the doubt thinking "maybe they're really busy at the moment?" but again, the same thing happens when I try to call. And when I've gone in person asking for a specific person to speak to, who I was previously told would be in at that specific time, I have been told that they were not there. Please don't tell me someone will be there and them not when I go into the store to see them. read more

This is a pretty standard Target on US 1, the closest Target to Ikea in New Haven. I stopped by this place on the way back from an Ikea trip because I wanted to avoid parking in Stamford. It's got a standard layout on one floor. Everything is pretty easy to find, and well laid out. If you've been to a Target before, you pretty know what to expect. This store was nice in that it didn't really have any large messes like a lot of Targets can have. The cashiers are friendly and professional. read more

I like this Target. It's always clean. The shelves are relatively well-stocked (with the exception of the Men's Clothing Dept, which can often be a bit thread-bare if you hit it at the wrong time), the staff can be a bit hard to hunt down but are quite nice and helpful once you find them, the grocery department has had some great deals every time I've shopped there, and checkout tends to be relatively easy. I do not like the older, white-haired woman who is the checkout "wrangler". She's in charge of making sure the lines stay as short as possible. So she herds you to a shorter line when people don't see that it's open. But she's very gruff and unwelcoming about it. She always seems put out to be doing you a service. And the Starbucks is one of the single slowest 'Bucks I've ever been to. They always make quality drinks and are very pleasant to you. But I've never stood in their line for less than 10 minutes. They do only have two people behind the counter and a smaller station than a full store. But there are some serious efficiency issues that need to be addressed. This is re: Target Pharmacy, I have had 2 dealings with them and have found the staff to be extremely helpful going above and beyond both times. The 1st was filling a prescription for my 85 yr. old mother. They asked what other medication she took, identified a possible interaction with the new medicine, phoned her MD who agreed and ordered blood work to be drawn. The new medicine did interact negatively but because of the extra blood work it was minimized. Without their attention to detail my mother would most surely have ended up in the hospital with very possibly serious problems. The 2nd dealing was when I phoned the pharmacy just for information about the availability of a product. They called the manufacturer to obtain the information for me while I waited on the line. The store itself I didn't have a problem with. It was your typical, run of the mill Target, just less crowded. What I did have a problem with was the cashier. She was a little rude in how she scrutinized my coupons that I printed directly from Target.com. She was acting as if I was running a counterfeit coupon ring and was trying to get over 35 cents off my toilet paper. After showing her they said Target on them. She goes on to say they need to have the logo. I pointed the logo out to her old blind a$$. She calls over a manager who told her they were fine. It took ever fiber of my being not to be rude to her. It's a rotten store with staff that prefers to talk to one another as you jump up and down trying to reach a top shelf. And as others have mentioned, checking out is a nightmare. You learn not to say ANYTHING or you are met with a hostile silence. These people react to a simple "Thank You" with hostility. I live about 2 miles from this target and every time I do end up coming to this one there are typically one to two registers open with long lines! I'd rather travel to the one in Milford. read more

Bad management. They will randomly help some customers to the service lane ( happened to me twice) - once I asked their manager why I was not asked but two girls behind me with the same amount of merchandise were called to the the next check out and he was all apologetic and had me helped at another counter but did not explain what was it ( other than the obvious physical attributes). this is my go to Target. usually they have everything in stock. things are usually in order and very clean. my only complaint is that I can never find anyone on the floor to assist me if I have a question. Target in itself is a good store I frequent them often and honestly have spent a lot of money over the years. I have always had pleasant experiences at all of them until now. This store has always been less par then others I have patronized. They are out of stock of things a lot which is extremely frustrating and some of the staff are not as helpful as others. Unfortunately again this evening I went to purchase a big ticket item and it was out of stock. After trying to get some answers on how to go about obtaining one from target (because I did really want to buy it from them) I was lied to by a manger twice regarding the item and the store stock and policy. She didn't care that I was a loyal customer and she didn't care if I went elsewhere to purchase the item so therefore I will never shop at this store again and they have lost a customer. We work very hard for our money and I refuse to spend it somewhere where I as a customer am not appreciated and treated rudely. I purchased the item at another store and they lost a very big sale. It's unfortunate that companies don't care about customer service anymore but my suggestion is If you want to go to a Target go to a alternate store location because this one doesn't care about it's customers at all.
