Well i wish i had come here to read reviews before buying from them, as they obviously are awful. I purchased an item form online and received it. One part was damaged but it looked like it might not be visible once assembled. So i decided to assemble. It was absolutely visible. When i called i was given two options a 5% discount that will void the warranty or disassemble the item and get a replacement. There really was not a choice in this mater. Spend 4 hours to disassemble one and return to get another and spend another 4 hours to assemble or take the 5%. I feel like they maybe do this on purpose so they can sell the item at a fraction cheaper and not have to honor their warranty. Will never order from them again. read more

I recently moved into my first apartment, and I can say with certainly I will never buy from Ashley Furniture again. I shopped in store last month and told the rep I was moving into a second floor apartment in an older home with a narrow stairwell. The doorways measure 32" and I needed to find something inexpensive that would fit up the stairs. I saved for MONTHS to be able to purchase something in-person versus risking it with Amazon or Wayfair. I purchased a sofa chaise from the outlet that my rep guaranteed would fit, since it comes in 2 pieces. Before I paid for it, I asked if there were any non-refundable fees and he informed me of a $99 re-delivery fee if I miss the delivery window, which is reflected on my order confirmation. He speedily clicked through a bunch of screens, not saying anything, and scanned my card. That was it. He said he would text me the confirmation, he never did. He said I would receive the confirmation via email, it went to spam. The deliverymen came and the sofa would not fit up the stairs despite the opinion of the sales rep. I didn't sign for the furniture and they took it back to the warehouse. I called to get a refund and was told the sofa is refundable but not the delivery fee. There is no sofa in my apartment. Why am I expected to pay a delivery fee for a sofa I don't own? I called customer service for a refund and was told there is a $139 non-refundable delivery fee. I told them my order confirmation only lists the $99 re-delivery fee, so the agent told me this store would call me within a few hours to clear it up. The store never called me. There is no note about a non-refundable delivery fee on my confirmation (that I had to search for in spam because the rep never followed up)! I'm expecting a full refund, including delivery, for the couch I do not own. Ashley, please do respectable business. This is the worst experience I could have as a new apartment renter. read more

We are building a house and when we first ordered our sectional, the order was pending for several weeks and I kept receiving holding charges that would be taken on and off my statement that customer service and billing could not explain. When we went in to order the sectional in store, all employees including who appeared to be the manager insisted that we would have at will delivery. We could call at anytime after the furniture came in and schedule the delivery. We were never notified of when it was ready, and when we called to inquire, the person on the line said the will call delivery was absolutely false and if we didn't schedule a delivery, they couldn't hold it for us and they can sell our sectional to someone else. Finally, now that we had to schedule the delivery before our house was complete, I wanted to leave the sofa in plastic but apparently unless you find an issue the second it's delivered, there is a fee to return. The prices are not worth the back and forth and ridiculous policies Ashley decides to put into place. read more

Customer Service related to calling this location is terrible. Ive called them everyday for the last 10 days straight and no one picks up the phone. Someone on the Ashley Homestore side just keeps picking up the phone every three or four rings and putting me back into a queue somewhere,. You can tell they are picking up the phone to do this because you can hear the music in the store in the backgroud and the song changes from time to time, or you can actually hear people speaking in the background. read more

Stan the man. He was the WONDERFUL sales person that sold me and my wife two sets of sofas and a bedroom set for our newly purchased home. And as the Store Manager he is an absolute crook! My wife and I walked in and the first thing that was said besides the general hello and welcome was that most of the store up was sale. Ok, thats awesome to hear, but coming from a retail background, I knew not everything is on sale. The whole time as he knew we were getting multiple living room sets and bedroom set, he could come up to us and whisper, 'Im the store manager, you guys are getting a lot, I'll make sure I get you a good discount." (signs were for 25% off and he was telling us everything would be 40%). Don't whisper what you cannot do. Now its time for check out, and of course 2 out of the 3 sets are "store exclusives" and he couldn't get us a discount, yet never said anything to us while we were looking at these items with him. Nothing in the store was labeled what was on sale, and what was "store exclusive." Then, we are told due to the Covid-19 Shipping would be around 6 weeks, not the 4 weeks it would normally take. Come to find out the warehouse closed a week prior to my wife and I entering the store. So, as a store manager, you have never received an email from corporate stating that a warehouse is closed? Also, that anything that is ordered will not be made until after the warehouse opens? I ordered my set on March 20th and my shipment date will now be "possibly" July 16th. You my friend as a store manager looked for your commission only and nothing else. You absolutely lied to a customer! And when the store reopened, wouldn't you think to get all the files of customers that had ordered furniture from you and contact EACH ONE and give them an update about their order. Nope, nothing. The corporate number can't see what the stores are ordering so for 3 months, we didn't even know if our order had been processed. Yes we are upset that it is taking so long, however, my wife and myself are more upset that you took our money and hid. You had NO CONTACT with anyone! And I'm sure, my wife and I weren't the only customers that week buying furniture that you left hanging in limbo not knowing what was going on with their order. I will assure that NO ONE shops at your store. My Daughter Raychelle and I walked in this Ashley furniture [506 Boston Post Road, Orange, CT] on 9/8/21 after 5 pm looking for an adjustable bed and the service we received WAS OVER AND BEYOND Our Expectations. Ms. J. [Rizzo] was more than professional, she was honest and real, personable and a pleasure to have met her. Qualities I look for in EVERYONE. Within minutes of walking into the store, we were so glad and thankful that we walked in when we did. She educated us in the pieces we were interested in, she looked for the best price and made sure I was able to get the financing I needed. Her Positive Joyous Spirit brightened My Spirit 1000000% she was actually the best sales person I have ever met! Not only was Ms. J great but the staff there was also AMAZING! Run, do not walk, away from this store. Bed nearly two months late, after an original 2 month waiting period. Was told I wouldn't be billed till furniture was received-lie. Now on my third delivery date for bed-first, came out only to realize they didn't have all the pieces. Second, cancelled morning of delivery due to broken pieces. Was told I would receive a call when all parts were in-lie. No matter who you call for or when, they are not working, out sick and never return the call. I get a hold of someone in warehouse only to be told parts are in; call store to schedule delivery, to be told pick a date but the ones I pick? Unavailable. When I ask why I had to call them, I get another long winded, nonsensical response. I have never taken the time to write a review but for this? I am happy to help warn others away! read more

ABSOLUTLEY THE WORST FURNITURE BUYING EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD. If I could give Negative stars I would (it's sad that we have to give them at least one star to get our review posted, hopefuly Yelp will change this policy), these are the most incompetent people I have every dealt with, regardless of what we were buying. Lies, deception, misleading information, lack of knowledge, zero customer service, did I mention incompetent? It's worth mentioning again. I've wasted so much time going back and forth with people at this store (Orange, CT) over the last few weeks trying to straighten my order out, I hesitate to waste more writing every detail on how they've totally mishandled my order. I see many other bad reviews about these guys that mirror what I went through so I'd just be repeating what's been said. One last bad experience with them today and we had enough so we just cancelled our order via email. We couldn't get anyone on the phone at the store to discuss this with, and we were like #40 in que on their customer service phoneline (no surprise there) so we took the matter into our own hands and ended this misery ourselves. How they've stayed in business this long, with all the complaints they have (and many more I'm sure that have gone unwritten), is a true mystery. I wish I could give this store minus 100 zero stars. We purchased a couch in Feb 2022, didn't receive it until April. After 2 weeks the cushion fabric looked like it was worn out. One by one the fabric on all the cushions looked the same and my couch looks like it's 10 years old. Now after very minimal use of this couch the back cushion zipper broke & all the stuffing was coming out. I put in a claim for the $500 warrantee we were talked into buying and they DENIED the claim saying its "normal wear & tear". The couch is only 5 MONTHS old! I also put in a complaint to the store and the technician had me send several pictures. They then sent be a box of stuffing and a new back cover. The said to contact them if I need assistance with stuffing it. Here I am stuffing a cushion for a couch that I paid $3,000 for and is only 5 months old. The ottoman that came with in is sunken in. It all looks like a piece of junk furniture. I wish I paid attention to the reviews. I wasted my money and this piece of junk isn't going to last 2 years. Customer service is very rude. They don't even seem surprised that we have so many issues with a 5 month old couch. They do not stand by their furniture. Cheap Cheap Cheap furniture! If I could I would give this store negative stars. I bought a dining room table, bench and chairs and was very unhappy with the chairs. When I made the purchase I was told return within 30 days with a maximum 30% restock fee. I was willing to do this. However, when I FINALLY got a manager on the line, he told me he would absolutely not complete my return. When I explained the policy that was told to me upon purchase, he denied that was their policy at all. I then told him I would be filing a lawsuit and this so called "manager" actually downright REFUSED to give his name (obviously because he didn't want to be accountable for what he said). I am shocked that someone so unethical that he literally refuses to give his name or take accountability for what he said has any management position! Do not Ever shop at Ashley's Furniture Outlet in Milford. I dealt with the manager Erika who has no idea what she is doing. I purchased a couch to be delivered. I had to delay the delivery and then decided just to cancel the entire order. I called Erika to cancel the order. She said I could not. Ok so then I called the credit card to dispute the purchase. It cancelled on Ashley's side but not on their Synchony Banks side. They basically told me this is my issue. Meanwhile I have no couch and $3000 on credit outstanding. Their credit card and store are not in sync together. Erika texted me today that she is out of this and operations will contact me. Terrible terrible customer service. Now I have to be the one to fight this. She will no longer talk to me or have her district manager call me. Nor will they answer my phone calls. So I have to go to Ashley's. We went in n to look at a couch Black Friday, the sales guy had said to put down a deposit to lock in the price, but if there were any issues, to call and they would cancel the order. We called the next day, and said they only do cancellations in store. I went down to store, and they said they only do cancellations Monday through Friday. HORRIBLE PEOPLE WORK HERE AND THE PRODUCTS NEVER ACTUALLY GET DELIVERED. My elderly grandmother was relying on this store to deliver her 2 couches that she ordered back in MARCH . She called them 3 times to confirm delivery dates for her 2 couches and they kept pushing the delivery date by weeks. 1 Couch was received by the store from the manufacturer and the second NEVER came. She called ONCE AGAIN to confirm a delivery for both couches this week and they informed her that the second couch was not coming until NOVEMBER. They already took her money, and did NOT tell her that the second couch was unavailable FOR 9 MONTHS. They then offered her a store credit. A store credit so that she can have 2 mismatching couches after they were the ones who failed to notify her until the day before delivery that the second couch was going to take another 6 MONTHS. To top it off, the girl on the phone was absolutely nasty to her. How dare you all screw customers over like this, take their money, and offer a store credit for horrible service. Why would anyone want store credit when your couches apparently take 9 months to come in? Your communication was despicable and your attitude towards paying customers is inexcusable. read more

Update: now years later, I'm trying to use the Montage Furniture Service warranty I paid $250 for. The durablend material on my sectional and ottoman is cracking. I called Montage in September and was told my warranty was never registered with them. The store now wants to handle the repair on their own rather than register my warranty the right way. Store manager, Rondell, will not talk to me and they will not refund the money I paid for a service I never received. Ive contacted the owner who will not answer or call me back. I started this process in September and I still have cracking furniture in my living room. Once again, never, ever put yourself or let anyone you know go through this. Oh, yeah! I was advised today by someone in the store that the woman from the warehouse who was helping me make a little bit of progress was terminated shortly after I last spoke to her just a few hours previously. Unfortunately, my experience was not good at all. 1/1/21 -ordered my 2 dressers, 2-night stands, dining set with the server, and 2 sets of chairs. The timeline provided was 8- 10 weeks. 2/26/21- I contacted the store to obtain an update on my order. I was told due to the storm my order was currently delayed and I would have to wait another 2 weeks. 3/5/21- I received a telephone message from a guy named Hunter @ 8:30 pm stating to contact them to schedule my delivery. 3/6/21- I returned the call and my delivery was scheduled for 3/13/21. I was informed I would receive a call the day before my delivery with a timeframe of when my furniture would be delivered. 3/12/21- I never received a telephone call with a timeframe. 3/13/21- I contacted customer service to obtain the status of my delivery and was informed there was a glitch with the system and shit happens. Yes that's right shit happens. Then was informed the earliest I could get my delivery was on 3/16/21. I declined at that time and decided to contact the corporate office. I spoke with a woman by the name of Teresa and she informed me she will contact the store directly and call me back. 2 hours had passed and no call back. I went to the store to speak with my customer service rep who sold me the furniture. Of course, he did not remember me, but listen to my dilemma about my furniture and became upset. He stated 4 other customers called to complain about being scheduled for delivery and not receiving their orders. He contacted the warehouse which confirmed my entire order was there. Rondel told me that he was going to get me a partial refund for my delivery fee for my inconvenience. initially wanted a full refund due to the negligence and lack of courtesy provided. Rondell- Sales rep- stated he assured me my entire order will be delivered on 3/16/21. 3/13/21- Ms Teresa finally called me back, after I went to the store. she spoke with them and wanted to know if my issue was resolved. I told her for now and inquired if I would be entitled to a full refund due to their negligence. She informed me I would be. 3/16/21- I only received 2 dressers and 2 nightstands. I contacted the store and spoke with Ms.J, who attempted to tell me that my furniture did not arrive. I told her Rondell already told us our items were at the warehouse. Ms. J immediately retracted her words, stating they did not make it on the truck and would give me a $150 gift card for the inconvenience. My delivery was rescheduled once again for 3/20/21. 3/20/21- remaining items delivered. Went to the store to discuss purchasing 2 more chairs for my dining set. Rondel was with another customer and had Ms. J tend to use. I reminded her about our conversation and she played like she did not remember and then when I repeated the story about the $150 gift card she was like ok. Then told me she was not able to price match the chairs to the online price. I was like wow, really. Then she was told the chairs were not in stock and there was a set waiting to be shipped to another customer. She tried to block that order so I could get the chairs instead. But I think she realized I overheard the conversation so she told me I would have to wait 16 weeks. I was like no thanks. Then I heard hell tell the young lady at the desk that was ringing up the order to cancel the credit. So I did not receive any credit back towards my delivery fee promised by Rondell, despite their negligence, I never received my $150 credit that was promised by Ms. J and she refused to price match. Last time I will ever buy from that location again. I have shopped at other locations in the past and never had this experience. Being Honest with a customer is very important. I spent $5000 in there and really should have taken my business elsewhere. Its funny how after they get your money your a nonfactor. Its sad, so sad. read more

If you are actually in need of new furniture then don't go to this store. I have ordered 1 bunk bed and 2 dressers for my children's bedroom a month and a half ago and I still haven't received them! Three weeks ago they called me to set up the delivery date and then a day before the delivery date, they called me to tell me that my items were incomplete and that they were not sure when I will receive my furniture! I went to the store and spoke to the store manager he apologized and said the missing items will arrive to the warehouse on August 1; so, I called today and they have not gotten them yet! Ever since then, I've called the store manager twice within 4 hours and personnel states that he will be in a meeting for the whole day. After purchasing three separate sets of furniture from Dave at the Orange location they had first sent us the wrong set then we had noticed our dinning room table and server were both badly damaged. Six months later and many phone calls and visits to the store and they have done nothing for us. Then on top of that we bought the protection plan and come to find out that Dave had sold us a floor display and never told us and the protection company doesn't cover floor displays! Save yourself the torture. Have to write my review here since Yelp doesnt have one for the Forest Hills NY area but it doesn't matter anyway. Their warehouse in New Jersey and it's all the same. Here's the short story of it all. Lived in NY and brought a brand new home in CT. Wine and dined by customer service on a king bed my wife and I wanted. It was on sale awesome price and guaranteed fast delivery. We were in no rush so we delayed until April 16 since would be fully built by then. They assured us delivery and stock is not.a problem.because its manufactured by them, cool. Now comes April 16, delayed until April 27 because they have the frame not the head board... this is a complete set btw. Cool, no problem. April 27 comes delayed again because piece is not in stock.... ok... pushed to may 9. May 8th comes and get a call that its delayed until May 17. Wife and I are furious so they knock off the delivery charge of 199, fine. May 16 comes get a call its delayed until May 28th. Mind you between all this we are in constant communication with them and the warehouse as well as their manager, CHRIS who now works in the NY valley stream location. He assured us 100000 percent we get it May 28th, his word meant nothing. May 27 comes, they want to delay it to.June 15 because, prepare yourselves, they had multiple.cancellations of orders and thus they didn't want to send the delivery truck out from Jersey to CT for 1 order. (1200 order) At this point we have had it, get on the phone with a manager who does nothing even after staring at our order history of delays. She could have made it right by getting that truck to come out here but nope, she let us cancel the entire order no problem. Don't be fooled, save your time and energy. THE STORE: It's fine, whatever. A typical furniture store with hovering salespeople working on commission. The vague pricing makes haggling a necessity, so just be prepared for that. But for me, their designs & comfort level were a small step above Bob's, Pilgrim and Raymour & Flanigan so I decided to buy a couch set. Ironically, it was a point of pride for the salesmen that the furniture was not store in a local warehouse, since all of their pieces are assembled to order, then delivered to your door. THE DELIVERY: Might have involved the most inept people I have ever been exposed to in my life. At the store they will tell you it will take 2-3 weeks before you get a call to schedule delivery. This means you will get a phone call from customer service outside of Milford to choose a day. Then (if you're lucky) the delivery warehouse will call to give you a time frame for that day. If this sounds like too many cooks plus a recipe for miscommunication then congratulations: YOU ARE SMARTER THAN THIS STORE. The icing on this nightmare cake was finally scheduling a delivery for the CORRECT Tuesday, only to find my couches never came. The official explanation? "There was um...a...it looks like an unknown error that prevented the couches from being put on the truck." Incredible. Maybe I'll get the couches I paid for? Eventually? In any case, they have lost my business for good. Conclusion: Their designs are actually available in many many other stores. So outside of pure masochism, there is literally no good reason to actually buy from this poorly run location in Milford. read more

Though my Shopping experience while purchasing was great, I highly recommend not to buy 'Bolanburg' collection as they are not durable for about even 3 months - I see the wood chipping off the table while I was cleaning the table. In spite of trying to reach Customer service - wasn't able to talk to a real person in time, and even after requesting them, they are not ready to accept the non durable table piece as return and replace a new one with the right quality. I had to personally refinish one of my other table of the same collection to protect it from further damage/chipping off. I don't think this is a great experience after spending good money + poor customer service/Strict return policies. All they have to say is this chipping off wood is due to usage(of three months time ?) and is not covered under warranty. So disappointed read more

Super unhappy with our recent experience at the Orange location. Went in to look for a mattress, found one we liked and when asking our salesman (J. Rizzo) if my fiance and i could split the cost she replied, "I dont care honey, as long as i get my money" we were shocked. Once she heard we wanted to buy it it felt extremely rushed, she brought us to checkout and we seemed as if we were interupting a social gathering with the girls behind the desk. The receptionist/ billing associate took both of our cards and charged them. J. Rizzo then could not get us out of the store fast enough because her mother and daughter stopped by for a visit. She rushed us through the paperwork, telling us to "sign here" "initial here" i had to interrupt her to ask her what we were signing since she was not explaining it. We left the store less than excited but just needed a new mattress so badly. About an hour after we returned home, i received a call from the girl who charged my card who informed me that instead of charging my card, she accidently refunded it. So that now to make it even she would need to charge me double the amount refunded to make it even. I reached out to the manager of the store and told him the events and he was less than concerned, and told me that he was sorry and would us this as a "learning experience". Walked in here today and met a fantastic young gentleman who worked hard for a sale I wish I could have given him! BUT- The quote on the bed I looked at was double what I showed him on line and the cheaper item actually came with two added items the one I was shown. I asked if he could compete and he said NO... Honest but kept trying for the sale. Added that I also had no sales tax, saving hundreds, and he was shocked I did not want to pay tax. Delivery was $ 200.00 here, I don't know what it entailed BUT I paid $ 90.00 for delivery that includes assembly, haul out and debris removal. Counter was to buy what we looked at for cash and get free delivery. Oh, ordered on line and also got a $ 200.00 gift card on top of it... they offered $300.00 in Ashley Bucks. I bought on line for under half this places quote, paid no sales tax and tossed $ 90 at it so I can sip a beverage as someone else redoes the bedroom! Not a bad day! She was telling us prices and when I told her that we want to check some other places too then she bluntly told us that" go, right now go, there is the door. You can go out right now. No one is stopping you. " there are the exact words she said. I mean to any customer what is the way of talking like this. Based on everything I see here, this review will fit right in. We purchased 2 sofa sleepers last summer, one of which came broken. I've been trying to get customer service to fix it since last year with no luck. They ignore emails, and when you get someone live on the phone they say they'll get back to you and then never do. I had an absolutely horrible experience here. They gave me the wrong couch and said there was nothing they could do. They willingly said it was the wrong couch the sales person gave me. I've been waiting months for this couch and because they ordered the one wrong now it's my problem? "Mrs. J" the so called manager has no customer service whatsoever. Sat there calling me honey in a condescending tone and claimed she was "too busy" to talk to anyone. She then told me to go outside to call someone else. Just super rude, and didn't want to help me out at all. I wasn't trying to be difficult but having to ask 4 separate times to speak to anyone to find some resolution got me nowhere. "This is your problem". So now I'm out $1100 for a couch I didn't even order. Not to mention she was putting everyone at risk by sitting there in the open without a mask. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Ms. J. She was really sweet and very helpful. She helped me find the perfect couch of my choice and gave me some great interior design ideas. She was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what she was talking about. Every employee in the store was very friendly and they all seemed like family. It was very inviting. read more

Came to Ashley home store today, to exchange a sofa that we found out wouldn't fit in our front door. Our sales person was Mrs. J she was amazing she found us a couch that would fit in our home and the front door perfectly, and on top of it the sofa that she found us was cheaper than the original sofa we purchased. When you come in ask for Mrs. J she will take care of you till you of 100% satisfied. read more

The only reason I'm even giving this store two stars is because the sales associate that initially helped me was very nice. Where do I start...after a purchase of over 2,000.00- there was no communication, I had to chase them. I was lied to and told the floor manager was not in and to call back on a tuesday(the managers day off)! The girl that usually answers the phone (she sits behind the desk) is rude, sassy and should not be working in a public establishment. Seriously, she's so rude! The floor manager told me there were issues with her and to only deal with him, well he never followed up or called. I had to chase him too. One of the other sales lady(older with grey hair) walked around with her mask completely down!!They lost another sale because of all of this. I went to Pilgrim and honestly I purchased a dining room set 4 weeks ago- I've already had follow ups and it's being delivered this week. I bought my stuff at Ashley back in February and got the table but never the chairs until recently. Ashley needs to do a complete make over on their entire staff!! Excluding Jonathan, he was very nice but there's only so much a sales associate can do. read more
