I was a walk-in and the ladies at the front desk welcomed me in and asked what they could help me…read morewith. I asked if they took my insurance and then she checked for me, and the answer was yes. So, she made me an appointment for a little way out almost a month out, but they were busy and I was ok with it. I came in for my appointment and checked in, filled out some paperwork since I was a new patient and I hadn't had a vision checkup in quite a while (17+ years, my vision hadn't changed). The prescription I had gotten 30 years prior still work because I never really used my glasses, only to drive at night with. The office is super clean and stocked with a lot of frames with a range of price points from basic (what is covered by your insurance) and the extra price add-on is listed on the frames (which you are responsible for). So, it was easy peasy to know what was going on and not be in the dark about the pricing on the frames. They also had a good selection of cheaper frames that were listed at an additional $60 all the way to $310, but honestly, I only looked at the frames that I liked. Time for my appointment, the optician (with the purple streaks in her hair, sorry I didn't get her name or any of the other optician's names, but they are all very nice and super helpful) prepped me for my pretest and explained what to do as she went along with all the testing. She was super nice and made me feel comfortable as she administered each test. I pretty much told her I can tell her what the letters are but when she got to the smaller ones, they were blurry (but I still knew what they were and we laughed!!) She made me feel at ease for my eye exam that was coming up with the Dr. Dr. Vargas walked in, and he was polite and personable. He administered my eye exams, and I (again) said I will tell him what the letters are, but I let him know when it's blurry, but I was able to tell him what the letter were, and we both laughed. The eye exam wasn't rushed and he was thorough. He explained everything to me and my left eye the prescription hadn't changed at all, but my right eye had "dry spots" so that means new glasses. I was in the building a week later and just checked to see if my glasses were ready, and they were. Happy camper that can see....lol

I literally just booked my appointment over the phone and didn't do any research about this business, nor did I look at any photos of this place. Why this building doesn't look anything special on the outside was I was surprised when I stepped into the building. You literally feel like you walked into a spaceship and none other than the Starship Enterprise! I was so blown away by how cool and futuristic this place was and on top how Dr Garret Wada was quick to see me and diagnosed right away with my issues. I looked around where I live (Indiana) and could not find my frame anywhere. So I reached out to Spectacle Optometry in Orange County, because I saw on their website that they carry or can order MODO frames. Spectacle came through! I was able to order my exact frame, in the exact color, directly from them. I gave them my prescription, and they asked me via email a few questions about lens preferences. This is another area where I wanted something very specific (surprise, surprise), and Spectacle was able to dial in my lenses to my exact specifications. When you wear glasses all the time like me, I feel that it's important to love your glasses. I absolutely love mine! Spectacle Optometry was wonderful to work with, especially considering that I couldn't visit them in person because I live more than 1,800 miles away. I was happy to get one on December 31st, before my yearly insurance benefits expired that night. After I was done, Jennifer had already looked up my insurance benefits and helped select some frames that would be covered by my insurance. I was completely indecisive and went back and forth on many pairs. Jennifer, Rosario, and Anni were so sweet and really tried to help me find the pair I would look best in! ONLY PLACE THAT CAN HELP!!!…read more So I accidentally took a nap on a very expensive pair of eyeglasses put them in a desk drawer and retired them.. was forced to buy another pair. Fast forward like 3 years later one of my twins (not naming which one) likely took my glasses and either threw them away or put them with the rest of our lost buried treasures of things that go missing. I was forced to wear my glasses that lived in the drawer when I worked at my desk then decided since I had the parts that their had to be a way to have them fixed. Went to a couple of places claiming they could fix but I was told they were unrepairable and should buy new ones.... I almost gave up and gave in. UNTIL! I came across FIXMYGLASSES online that is actually World Optic on state college they took me right in and rushed my glasses into surgery and miraculously brought them back to life!! Great service from beginning to end! I always need nose pads on my glasses because I have a low…read morenose bridge. I found World Optic through a quick google and Reddit search for local, affordable glasses modifications. I placed an order/RMA on their website on 1/26/26, immediately received an email with a prepaid shipping label, and the. mailed out my new Miu Miu glasses on the same day. On Tuesday 1/27/27 I received email confirmation of delivery to their shop and a separate email with assessment options and prices. I paid $79 for the basic option of nose pad modification. They even preemptively chose the gold nose pad arms to compliment the frames (I didn't add specific cosmetic requests in my order). By Saturday 1/31, I gave them a call to ask about the status of my glasses which they let me know were shipping out that day. Today, 2/2, I received my brand new, perfectly fitting Miu Miu glasses and couldn't be any happier! I'm so excited to know that I can get more plastic frames now that I've found World Optic to add the nose pads for me!
