This is THE most disgusting Target store I've ever visited while on vacation .. The manager is incompetent and extremely rude . Target rethink your future choices in this stores head .. Not one of the best targets I've been to, but also not the worst. The store is bright, spacious, and chock full of bargain merchandise. However, the aisles are generally in disarray, and the available amount of cashiers at any given time is sparse at best. read more

Truth be told, I'm a bit of a Target-snob. I hail from Minneapolis: the birthplace of Target. With that being said, this Target is not bad, nor is it the best Target I've ever been to. Selection is pretty good, and has a small (mediocre) grocery section, but I'll take it. I get whatever I can get here in terms of groceries, as I find that it's usually cheaper than Stop and Shop. The cashiers are a toss-up: sometimes you'll get a super friendly one, and others you'll get one that won't even acknowledge you. The store is bigger in size in comparison to others in the area, so that's awesome. This is also my primary pharmacy, and I've always been very impressed with the staff. Solid. I'm not mad at it, though sometimes annoyed because the wait at the checkout can get rather long. read more

I came to this store a few days before Christmas and was really disappointed by the lack of selection of merchandise. I figured everything was just messy and picked over because of the holidays, but I went to a different Target location a couple of days later (in Southington) and it was nice and neat with little mess, and good selection of products. That being said, I'm still a fan of this location because of its proximity to Westfarms Mall, which makes it a convenient stop, and I also need to give a shoutout to the girl who was working electronics because she was super helpful. So I would still recommend this location if you're going to be shopping near Westfarms anyway. Just know that they don't seem to have the selection (or cleanliness) of some other stores, particularly Southington which is my fav location :) read more

Worst trip to any Target I have ever been at. Went with my son because this is the only place that takes his father's vision insurance. One woman was pleasant and helpful while the other was on the phone checking who was coming over for Easter dinner. Went to the grocery section where people were putting food away but couldn't find the garlic. They asked another guy who said he was going to look in the back. He must have gotten lost because 15 minutes later he was no where to be found. Son said he needed shirts so we went to look. It literally looked like someone vomited clothes onto the floor. That or whoever unpacked just opened the box and dumped it. My 13 year old son said "I don't need shirts this bad. ". I left whatever I had in my cart and walked straight to customer service which is labeled "exchanges" and told the girl there. She apologized and said she would let the department manager know but I doubt it just like I don't think her apology was sincere and why should it be when it is not her fault. I would think if you want customers you would treat your merchandise well. Not to mention the aisles you couldn't go down because of all the boxes that had to be unpacked. Wonder if that is a fire violation. I would hate to be in that store if there was an emergency because there is no straight way out. What a disaster! read more

So, still a fairly average Target, and one update is worth mentioning. While the grocery selection is fairly expansive - even somewhat impressive (and I say that more for the nonperishable goods) - the produce is kind of awful. I came in today to buy a few things for an event and thought I'd pick up some salad greens and fruit for myself, to no avail. The packaged arugula, romaine, and mixed greens were all (and I looked through every package) brown around the edges, which was SUPER unappealing. The fruits were underwhelming enough to pass on, so I left without either. Still, Target is pretty amazing for so many other things, so it's still a great option in the area. And the people that shop here don't have the decency to say excuse me or consider other people around them. And im not basing this on one trip.. This is "my" Target. I rarely ask for help. When I do it is usually to ask where something is located.This past week I went there with a friend. We were looking for just right socks for two kids and one grandpa. A man named Rich helped us out above and beyond our expectations. He told us about a great app. for Target coupons. He helped me download the app and how to use it. He exhibited much more patience with me than some relatives I have . So thanks a bunch, Rich. I wish more people were like you. This is the most horrible Target ever. There are never more than 2 checkout lanes operating no matter how many people are waiting, and the cashiers often have a bad attitude. I don't think I have ever seen the same cashier twice. On top of that, the food department is always discontinuing everything and every time I go there they have less and less of what I want (I have to go to the Target on the Berlin Turnpike to find them). The sunglasses are a joke - Right now about a quarter of the displays are filled, and it's summer! Same is true for the jewelry. The shoe department is constantly a mess....The whole place looks so sad especially compared to other Targets. I wouldn't have given it only 2 stars but the Optical department has got to be THE worst I have ever been to in my 55 years. I have been going to eye doctors all my life at places like Sam's Club, Sears, BJ's, Opticare, etc., and never have I been anywhere near as unhappy with the service at any of them as at this Target Optical. My first clue was when on my first visit there a female customer was arguing with one of the staff and left in a huff. I gave the store the benefit of the doubt since I didn't know the situation. In retrospect, I think I was being too generous. The doctor is pleasant enough but her exam room does not feel or smell clean plus she is just a bit on the creepy side. Then, they screwed up my contact lens order. They gave me four boxes of right lenses instead of two of the right and two of the left. At first the man behind the counter tried to tell me that's what I ordered until he read the file and had to consent to the error. I was very forgiving about this but I had to wait yet another week and a half. It's a good thing I had some left! When I came in to get the corrected lenses there was only one woman waiting on customers (I have usually seen two men there). She was fitting a woman for her new eyeglasses when I walked in. I told her I was just there to pick up some contacts. She told me she would be with me "in a few minutes". Well, in a few minutes she was finished with the woman but then went on to tend on two other women who were sitting there waiting. I had thought they might have been waiting for the doctor, but they were waiting for the saleswoman. When I asked them if they minded if she gave me my lenses since it wouldn't take more than a few seconds for her to go behind the counter to hand them to me, they said in a very nasty and hostile tone, "No, we've been waiting here a long time". WHAT? The saleswoman told them politely that it would only be a few seconds to give them to me. They still insisted that she not give them to me. Sorry, but in the polite society I grew up in that is just unheard of behavior, and I told them right to their faces that they were not nice and that if they had asked me for that favor, I would have said "no problem" no matter how long I had waited. The saleswoman went to get my lenses and in no more than 15 seconds handed them to me. How ridiculous for them to make such a fuss over 15 lousy seconds and ruining my day (and the saleswoman's day too) in the process for something that's not even our fault! Despite the saleswoman having gotten me the lenses, I told her they had just lost a customer. I am sure I am probably far from the first customer they have lost nor the last. I realize their customers' lack of manners nor the lack of adequate staffing are not their employees' fault but who wants to go somewhere where there are nothing but problems and nasty people like those two women shop? I left New York to get away from people with sour attitudes like that. If they weren't kept waiting so long they probably wouldn't have taken it out on me, so it's the store's fault. I only went there because it's convenient to my office and it accepts my insurance, but there are plenty of other places nearby where I could go for that. This Target is just the most sick and miserable store I have been to in a long time. Seriously, I think it needs an exorcism or something! By the way, as if all of the above isn't enough, when I got home I noticed that the "corrected" order was STILL wrong! This time they got the prescription right, but the type wrong! They gave me a slightly different variety of Bausch and Lomb lens than I usually wear, again, by mistake. I wouldn't have fussed over it, but I had tried that variety in the past and my eyes didn't like them. I called the manager the next morning to say "What's up?" and he glossed over it but told me that he would be happy to order them again for me. He also told me how "rare" it was for anyone to have such a negative experience in his store. Now, why do I find it very hard to believe that? Stay away from this place at all costs! read more

I recently went back to this Target and while it's still not my favorite everything was stocked! No empty end caps and shelves. I spent a large part of a rainy Sunday afternoon there and felt good about it. Maybe the previous lack was due to the revamp of the grocery section. Not sure. Not a bad store. Obviously, everyone loves Target and it is convenient that you can shop for odds and ends and also get a few groceries at the same time. The people who work there are relatively friendly although I think that they can use a little training on the store layout. Also, there were so many shopping carts in the corals, that they were sticking out into the aisles. I am extra sensitive to this, since I don't want any carts gone rogue hitting my car!!! read more

Actually Target is not that much cheaper than retail and this location especially is not that much nicer than a Walmart. I went here to buy groceries and some extra items in the home section. The store was not well kept, they had stocking carts blocking off the aisles EVERYWHERE with no employees attending to them. Target Optical: Optician is wonderful! Helpful and listens to your concerns, however the same cannot be said about the staff. The one I constantly ran into is lazy and doesn't do his job. Bought glasses and had to return 3 times to get them adjusted, everytiime a little better but never right. He constantly told me it was something with me, but turns out they were lop sided and bowed outward. If the guy just measured my face then the glasses, I'd never have to go back so many times! Purchased in early spring and still don't wear them, complete waste of money and time! read more

This Target is much larger than others I've been to. The Manchester location is closer to me, but I will stop by this one when I'm commuting to Central. It's more expensive than other stores that you can compare Target to, but it's cleaner and the organization of the store makes more sense. There's nothing special about it, it's good but it's expensive. It doesn't have certain products I'm looking for like Goya, I have to go to other places to find them. read more

Continuously out of stock on items I need to buy, there are 3 cashiers working at one time so the lines are ridiculously long, and the foyer smells like vomit. The smell has been an ongoing issue for months and I'm not sure how it hasn't been taken care of yet. This is just for the Target Mobile Piece: Do not buy a phone here! Bought an iPhone 5 and the sound did not work for some reason. I called and asked for a replacement and was told that they did not have any more in stock. I was told I would need to drive an hour away to the closest store that had one. I asked for a manager and was told this was the manager and she told me there was no one higher up to speak with. Finally she put me in touch with the district manager who just reiterated that I would need to drive to pick up a new one. Apparently with their structure they cannot move inventory around or ship phones. There is some odd setup with several companies contracting with each other to make this operation work. At the end of the day, it makes it a complicated mess since they cannot resolve any issues. The district manager was a total bitch and completely useless. The manager at the store was very nice but had no power to do anything. When I went back to finally get a phone that magically appeared, it took over an hour and a half to have it activated. The first employee I dealt with was very unprofessional although he got his job done. Not a good experience and just a total mess. Save yourself the time and aggravation, just go to the normal Verizon store. Would have given 0 stars if possible read more

I loved this Target until i started couponing last year. Most employees are very judgemental and discriminating. Some employees make me feel like they either think I'm broke/stealing from their company. I am over shopping at Target & Target.com. I made a purchase online I went into the store to return the item because I found another item I liked better on their website. I went in with the online receipt on my phone & the mailing paper work that was in the box. When doing the return the customer service person said I was getting returned less than what I paid. I showed them proof of what I paid and I stood there. They finally decided to return the full amount but only putting it on a gift card. Whatever! I took the card and decided to make a purchase while I was there. The lady rings up all my items, takes the gift card out of my hands and stand there waiting for me to complete my payment. I asked the lady what was the amount I was now putting on my credit card and the lady got annoyed and told me the amount I had on the gift card. I repeated the question asking her what was the amount and the lady gave me an entire attitude. Target needs to get it together!! read more

This is a nice Target store. Nothing to rave about really. The store is bright and clean. Employees are helpful and I have never had to wait very long at the check out. The grocery department has a good selection of items which is great when you need to grab that one ingredient you forgot to buy. In the past the worst I have experienced here is a lack of selection in electronincs and long lines. However, I went in this evening thinking the lines shouldnt be bad and I'm not looking for electronics. I made the mistake of actually looking at the asiles as I walked by to get what I need. The shoe section look like a bomb went off. At first I attributed it to perhaps a large sale that caused everyone to fling things around but it was more than one aisle and not just shoes. It was pervasive! I have only seen that mess at Walmart. It was SO bad I thought I was buying a $3 item but it was really a $5 item. The entire lot of them were in the wrong place. I also found myself disappointed in what I feel was an intentionally deceptive pricing scheme. One of the items I wanted, a Tresemme Keratin treatment, was part of a buy 3 items in this line get a $5 gift card. So I also picked up the matching shampoo and conditioner (that I didnt need) to get the $5 off. The Condidtioner was part of the deal but magically the shampoo wasnt. Most people buy shampoo AND conditioner together and I believe they purposely priced this way. If I am going to have to shop in Walmart conditions and deal with deceptive pricing I might as well take myself to Walmart. I can't say I am writing off ALL Target Stores but I think I am giving up on this one. read more

As i was moving into a new apartment, I found it convenient to just do my grocery shopping at Target since I was already there. I didn't buy a whole lot but there was a decent selection and I spent maybe $150.00 on groceries. Lesson learned: Check the dates. Almost every item I bought was either expired, or expiring the day I bought them (meat); sadly I'm not exaggerating as I am hard pressed to find an item that is not expired. Now I understand I should have checked the dates, but shopping at actual groceries stores usually afforded me the luxury of not having to look as closely. I wish I had not thrown out the receipt because I would have returned every item. Judging by the variety of items I purchased, that were all expired, it's safe to say that this is a big problem at this store, and the store clearly does nothing about it.
