Let me preface this review by saying that whatever you think of me shopping at Target is your opinion. In spite of all the DEI controversy regarding this establishment (and others), I simply choose to shop at whatever is closest to me. That being said, if you know me personally, you know what kind of person I am, and that's all I have to say about it. Carrying on... Merced Target just might be the smallest Target store I have been to. Just looking at it from the outside, it looked small. I had a pick up order, but I also had to run in and get a few more things during my short stay here. I made my in-store purchase first, then proceeded to the pick-up counter for my online order. There was a girl behind the counter, and she was busy sticking the mini fridge with drinks. I made noise a few times to alert her that I was standing there. She ignored me and went about continuing to stock the little refrigerator. I wondered how tf long she would let me stand there, so I didn't say anything. There was another employee next to her on the guest service side. She didn't say anything, either. I was never acknowledged. My friend had just finished paying for her things and walked over. I whispered to her that I'd been waiting a while. She did the "Excuse me, we're here to pick up?" and the girl finally said, "I'll be right with you." Smh. It's whatever. I got my things, but that's not the best customer service I've had. I still wonder how much longer I would have waited had my friend kept quiet. Apparently the Target in Atwater (next city over) is the place to be. I may end up there if I have to do another pick up. If I'm in a punch and end up here again, I'll have to see how quick they are with their drive-up service. read more

Sorry to say, but I rather go out of my way to Atwater where it's less crowded and the staff is a bit more helpful. I've read some of the reviews and I know it's true because it's happened to me as well the waiting in the customer service line and all kind of staff walking by not acknowledging you, the rude / annoyed mangers, the messiness, and the waiting for more than 20min in the pickup drive up. It's true, I agree with all these people too . 5 + years ago it was a great target and it just keeps going down hill. It's disappointing honestly. read more

This TARGET store puts hyper-defensive snowflake karens at curbside. Instead of serving the customer they will call security, fabricate lies and go into a total brat meltdown so they won't have to do their simple job of putting your online pickup order in your car. Here's a tip TARGET employees: if you're having a bad day don't displace your anger onto customers, that will drive them away permanently. What has happened to this Target location? I feel that it used to be a gem and now it is absolutely filthy and so disorganized. I use a lot of target drive-up because I have 3 kids and my goodness, why does it take over 20min for them to bring out the order? Even when they aren't busy...seems a little absurd. I also find it highly unprofessional when there are people in line trying to return or pickup their order & NO ONE even acknowledges the people in line. Employees are walking around left and right yet no one helps or even says anything. Is it that hard to say "let me see if I can find someone to help you". Everything was great I was shopping around always trying to get the best deals made sure everything was applied on my target rewards app and when I checked my receipt none of my manufactures cupons were were applied. I went back to speak to a customer service rep and the first person who helped me was really trying to help me out. Then he ended up calling the manager who had helped me before... this lady is not qualified to handle any customer service she has a terrible attitude and is never trying to help anyone out. She told me she's honest one of the cupons but that if have to always check on the app if the cupon applied to the item... I know it's only .50 that the manufacturer was discounting but why should they not honor it? Al though everything would be on if her attitude was better. Last time she helped me out she acted as if I was bothering her. She should NOT be taking care of people. Not a problem solver she's a problem creator. There's signs for Covid for social distancing, lots of areas with hand sanitizer. Very clean and safe, I will go back here again if I'm in need of anything target carries. read more

Wow! The best time to shop at Target? Weekday mornings before heading to work. There were six cashiers waiting to usher customers to their check outs when I first walked in. Yay! They were still there a few minutes later when I was ready to check out. What has happened to this Target location? Dirty, disorderly, disorganized, low inventory always and that's just the Beauty section! This store used to be a gem in Merced but no more. It has been going on for months. I realize COVID 2 years ago was a reason for many of the concerns I mention but now it is just an excuse. I feel bad for the line worker employees--they do their best. This is a management issue and all the way up to corporate. Store Manger is a joke. Disorganized as can be rude and useless employees. And if you gonna blame someone for something make sure you facts are straight. Store manager is working with 1 shipt shopper and kicking others out of the store for no reason. Never anything in stock. Driveup is 20 30 mins at minimum.Restrooms are disgusting. Good luck finding a decent cart. The lady at the self check out is rude. I was pick up my 2 box baby diapers,a pack of 8 paper towels, and 24 roll toilet paper inside the shopping car. I buy some chips and soda for my kids and she said that i'm not supposed to go to that line. But don't you know that I already pay some of my stuff! The items that I need to pay are 13 items only. Meghan at the self checkout was great!! I went in to buy some marshmallows and the ones I picked were stocked in the wrong place. So the price was off and she took care of it and honored the price. Target Merced, with the Covid I have not been able to find a lot of my low-calorie meals but I went to target and they had a lot of things I've been looking for. My daughter and I walked in and was greeted by a very nice man named Jonah . Jonah was very nice and funny made us laugh. Depending on what you're buying, Target can be an excellent place to find some good deals. You will always save more money by shopping with their market pantry brand, but if you prefer name brand products like many people do, pay attention to all sales ads and coupons and you can end up purchasing many items for less than a traditional grocery store or from Amazon. I would've given this location four stars but where other locations have a Starbucks and a food court inside; this location only has a coffee shop. read more

It's not a Super Target but I give them 5 stars for 5 good reasons: 1) Great customer service. Their check-out lines move fast and all employees are always courteous and helpful. 2) As a parent of having 4 kids in 5 years, The inventory is very reliable in their home, grocery and baby/kids sections. 3) They have great red tag sales / sections. 4) The store is consistently clean throughout: the shopping aisles, floors, bathrooms, organization of shelves and even their shopping carts. (They had many filthy shopping carts over a year ago but recently they got newer ones to replace most of them.) 5) Returns / Exchanges are easy-peazy. I confidently recommend this Target. The Starbucks inside here is a completely different story. read more

I recently moved to Merced CA and went to the TARGET store on R street, and what a SHOCK!! Compared to the Bay Area TARGET store the Merced TARGET is a HUGE let down. The store is junky, dirty floors, clothes and products are all mismanaged. I was truly shocked to find this store in such a mess. I enjoy TARGET products and the reasonable prices, but probably won't go to the store, will do online shopping. I did enjoy going to TARGET at my Bay Area (San Ramon, CA) store. But will not visit the Merced store. read more

I was out running errands with my family and our first stop was Target. While there I remembered that I could get my grocery shopping done while there and was pretty excited to be saving myself a trip to the grocery store. The dry goods that they have are.phenominal. Any cereal I could dream up and just all together pantry goods galore but as for the cold grocery items I was SHOCKED. They are called Super P stores, meaning that they have produce. This word means fruits and vegetables. When I finally got to the produce section I was immediatly disappointed to see that the ONLY produce they had was bananas and and a handful.of bags of apples. Not ONE vegatable. There are bags of salad to make any bag of salad lover in heaven but forget about veggies. They had a few packages of chicken but at higher prices than the local grocery store. The cheese selection was decent but again at prices higher than the grocery store. I am sure they are not looking to have the best prices as much as being convienent but for real groceries make the extra trip to the grocery store. read more

They always seem to be out of something I need. Recently I went to look for Zulka Morena sugar, Target is the cheapest place to get it, but they didn't have any and there was no price label for it on the shelves, which led me to believe they discontinued carrying it. I later looked up on the Target website and Atwater has it in stock, so why not Merced? The next cheapest equivalent was Good & Gather (generic Target brand) which is about 3 times the price of Zulka. This is the fourth time already that I haven't been able to find a certain product here and had to go elsewhere to find it. Take your business to Atwater instead, they're much better and always have what I need. Merced Target is so trashy and disorganized, they're a disappointment to all other Target stores. read more
