Once upon a time, I was a target fan. Great for household items, sales, and reasonable prices. Not so much in recent years. Against my better judgement i went the other day. I did find what i was looking for, however had to serve my time as a cashier, while i was videod and eagle eyed by the self checkout clerk. I had one large item, and two smaller, nothing concealed by bags. Fifteen feet away i was next harrassed by the twenty something door clerk who refused to allow me and my two year old granddaughter to leave without digging out my receipt. Done with Target. I'm not exactly expecting a great experience as far as customer experience goes However armed with a gift card I went into purchase a few items. I did find 2 things I wanted and went to checkout.WHAT A DISASTER. The self checkout was halfway back towards the end of the store. The 2 yes 2 open cashier lines were filled with people with overflowing carts. Good for Target but not for me It would have taken me 20-30 minutes to pay for my merchandise no matter what option I chose. I handed my gift card to a young couple and then left I have had a terrible online shopping experience with this store that I had designated as my pick up location This isn't about politics it's about a poor experience and I don't think I will ever purchase anything from Target any time again. The store was clean, workers were stocking shelves and they all looked miserable. There's always a long line for self checkout and there were only 2 cashiers open. Apparently the workers bad attitudes come directly from management as we witnessed a male employee loudly yelling over his shoulder in a nasty tone "and I'm the store manager ". This store is a total nightmare, every section is a disaster with everything thrown about. I started to do a order pickup because I don't have the patience to go searching for things only for them to email me back every time that atleast HALF of the items I purchased were out of stock. We'll today I went walking around after I was told that half of my items were out of stock only to find EVERYTHING I HAD PAID FOR. Target (specifically the Manalapan NJ location)has ZERO sensitivity to customers and shoppers with disabilities. They consistently have no accountability for taking care of their motorized shopping carts for disabled guests. Last year I couldn't walk at all. Currently I'm improving and just can't walk the entire store. Many others can't do that and need these carts. No one thinks this could be them but all it takes it one incident or illness and they could also be going through this. They (carts) are hardly plugged in after usage by the staff and consistently die in the middle of the store (embarrassing and difficult to disabled persons). When you make it known to the staff you get a blank stare and nothing more. Complaining to managers is useless as the situation is never resolved. I understand that many people use them, that stores are busy and the ever convenient "were understaffed" excuse us wielded with pride. Unfortunately for disabled guests this is not acceptable. The front end employee, cart attendee, manager etc could easily monitor and address this issue but that seems to be too much to ask. I'm frustrated and also wondering how many other disabled shoppers go through this as well. I'm also wondering how this lack of "reasonable accommodation" of a working instrument is in violation of the ADA act. Seems that it could be a legal issue for the store? Hopefully corporate sees this and can address it as other avenues fail to get the message across. read more

Apparently this store has an offsite warehouse in Middletown. If you order online and pick up in store don't rush to the store to pick up your order when you get an email or text confirming it is ready to pick up. Items will show up in stock but they aren't really. I learned this the hard way. I should have received a call but only received an email. Once I got a text I went straight to the store to pick up. The manager was very good about making the situation right though and my order was ready to pick up an hour later. Overall, this location is clean and decently stocked. There is a small market like the bigger super Targets which is great if you need to pick up a few items (mostly boxed items, some fresh produce and meat). read more

I have been to this particular Target 3 times in the last 3 weeks so, I have had a chance to really check it out. First, compared to other Targets near me, this one is just not that busy or manic crazy packed with shoppers, at least not at the time I go which is in the evening between 6-7 pm. Second, though they carry the basic sane stuff as other Targets, I kinda like to walk around and have been pleasantly surprised with the cool items. I am thinking it's because they are not as picked through by customers, but I honestly don't know. Third, the staff I have had interaction with were polite and helpful. Parking is easy, some items are pricey, but the PJ's and slippers I can't pass up, also they carry the Soda Stream Syrups. read more

The fact that you can only return something at customer service is ridiculous especially when they have one employee working and a line with 20 people in it. This is by far one of my least favorite Targets and probably one of my least favorite stores that I've walked into ever. It is clean, so there's the extra star. However, this location it feels more like a warehouse. That's fine, if it was Costco or BJ's or Sam's Club. This store is none of these. It has to be itself. It has to be that one store that is formed in a way, that makes it easy to find everything, and not formed in a very cofusing maze setting. Also, despite the large store, there was really limited selection. It was very hard to find anything here, and there was no pleasure in being at the store. A worker did give me a covered smile. I value all the hard work of the Target employees- working in customer service isn't easy and has especially become more difficult after the pandemic. What I don't value though is the difficulties that I faced during my Order Pickup today at this location. I think the issue is that it was conveyed through notifications that my order was ready- i show up to the store and it's not even picked up. There was a Supervisor who was very busy bossing everyone else around but who couldn't be bothered to help their team. I am disappointed in how some of the employees in managerial positions act like they're too good to help their employees because they look down upon them. I love Target but I recommend going to another location. This is not my first issue with Pick Up at this location. read more

I was in Target this evening waiting in line for Starbucks. I saw the most heartwarming act of kindness from a worker/manager Linda. She was sitting at the table with a elderly lady. What I got out of standing there listening is the elderly lady couldn't find her car ... Linda took this lady under her wing, called her husband and sat with her talking about anything and everything she could until the husband came. I over heard that the lady was not suppose to be driving and I immediately figured she can't find her car and not suppose to be driving she has early dementia. This really choked me up and brought me to tears because my grandma had dementia and then soon turned to really bad alzheimer's. It was amazing to see that there still are good people in the world and Linda If your on here your a true angel read more

Stepped into this target for a stroll and to get out of the house during this quarantine. The staff was very nice cleaning all of the baskets and carts as well as all of the self checkout areas. The shelves were stocked with things and I was impressed! Very organized and neat, not messy at all. I appreciated it! read more

As an out-of-towner, this target seemed almost impossible to navigate, especially with a shopping cart. Customers swing around aisles without looking, constantly bumped into my cart with a child in it and also left their carts just sitting in the middle of the aisle leaving no room to go around. This brings me to the next issue, there is no room to move around! The aisles could not fit two carts side by side, so if anyone else is in your aisle, you have to exit and then walk all the way around to get to the other side. Employees didn't seem to care about struggles either because they also left large carts of restocking items right in the middle of the aisle. I ran around like crazy looking for what I needed and trying to protect my child from squished fingers due to others reckless cart pushing. I expected a decent target, but could have gone to Walmart for the same experience. read more

Not only is this target store FILTHY but I even had an employee in the store tell me all about how unsanitary her working conditions were. After she proceeded to tell me how some of the employees don't even bother wearing masks IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC, I will never come back to this store. The cherry on top was as I was leaving I watched one of the managers, I presume they were management, belittle one of the employees. I really wanted to defend the employee because I felt so bad, the kid could not have been older than 17. The way these people talk down to their employees is outright disgusting. read more

This is an older Target that has been renovated to keep up with the newer bigger stores. They have added a full supermarket section and the bulk section to the store. So you can now purchase fresh produce, frozen foods and all of your other basic needs. The bulk section that copies the Sams Club, BJs and Costco model offers items at a discounted rate that are packaged in larger quantities for those who need large amounts of single items. So now this Target offers all of what the newer stores offer and I will say for the amount of people this one attracts on a daily basis the store is very well organized and fairly clean. I personally have never had an issue with items being in stock either even during sales (except Black Friday obviously). Also signed up for the Target coupons on my Iphone which seem to have some good offers now and again. This is not a bad store if you need to stop in and pick something up. Be aware though if it's on the weekend or during any peak time as I mentioned this place can be fairly packed. The manager seems to be good at keeping enough cashiers on the schedule but theres still lines during peak hours. read more

Not as nice as the target in Brick (which was recently renovated and has a nice new snack bar with a Starbucks inside) but it's a pretty standard Target. Beware vanity sizing and be sure to try everything on! Clothes are much bigger than they should be, and I'm 2 sizes smaller in Mossimo (Target's exclusive brand) than any other brand. Nice place to try to score the designer capsule collections - Anna Sui, Erin Featherston, etc.! I hear that other Target stores sell out of the designer stuff instantly, but this Target will have it in stock a lot longer. And some deigner stuff even ends up on the clearance rack at the end of the season. read more

i went to this manalapan location because i have my baby registry here and they give you a welcome bag with coupons, however when i got home all the coupons were expired, so i went back and told the customer service rep. at the return & exchange center. she was so nasty, i think her name was Janet, she's short with short brown hair and wide. she went into the back and got updated coupons for me and told me, all the coupons are the same obviously it wasn't because the new coupons weren't expired. she was pissed out and rude, each and every time but especially this time, i say this because I use this location very often. Tip to this lady: if you don't like to help customers, you're in the wrong line of business. read more

I love Target..heck I even worked there a few years. It's got some good stuff at good prices. This Target in particular is just okay really..it seems to be a bit more bare bones than other Targets I've been to. The layout is a bit different than normal so it took me a few visits before I navigated it with ease. They've just added groceries to this particular store, and while you might not be able to do *all* your grocery shopping here-you can do almost all of it (minus anything you need from the deli, and meat departments)-though they do have a few packages of chicken breast and red meat available. The prices are very good grocery wise. read more
