No matter where we travel to.... Somehow, some way, if there just so happens to be a Target there, my wife will miraculously find a reason to convince me that we need to stop in. Yeah, even while on vacation where I know for a fact that we 100% packed everything we could possibly need for our trip before leaving home... (Trust me, after filling her suitcase, she still uses the other half of my suitcase so I can carry her toiletry bag, her extra pairs of shoes, and like 12 canisters of sunscreen in every SPF who can think of) And just like that, now MY suitcase is nearly full. But just so you know, I purposely was keeping the other half of my suitcase empty for all of the souvenirs and gifts I was gonna get for people back home... Sorry Gigi, guess you're just gonna get another fridge magnet this year cause that's all I can fit. ;) Anyways... So there we were, once again on the beautiful Island of Kauai... And suddenly my wife remembered she needed something and said "let's go to Target in Lihue, I just want to pick up a couple of things." I of course, knew exactly what that meant... "Just a couple of things" would ultimately turn into a "cart full of stuff." Of course, you can bank on it that every single Target trip will either start or end at their in-store Starbucks. So there we were, walking around the Target in Lihue, Kauai approximately 2,600 miles from home... She picked up the things she originally came in for, grabbed a few snacks for the kids, and decided to get some ingredients to make a few meals back at our condo. But then as we continued walking down the aisles, something caught her eye. We were in the back to school section and she was like... "aww look how cute these lunch bags are for the girls lunches when they start school! Oh and they have matching containers for their school snacks too, we need these!" Mind you... It was the middle of summer. We were on an island. On Vacation. In Paradise. But there we were, shopping for lunch bags. At Target. So I said to my wife... "Lunch Bags?" "Shouldn't we just get these at our Target back home?" "Plus, we don't have room in the suitcases" My wife, "I think you have some space in yours" Needless to say, our girls are rocking their new lunch bags thanks to Dad ;) Ok, I'm being a little dramatic, but hopefully you can relate and enjoyed my little tale. But know that those memes you've seen about going to Target for a few things, but land up with a cart full of stuff are Real! Hey, I'm not gonna lie, some of the stuff in the cart is mine too! So what makes this Target stand out? Well for one... The parking lot has chickens and roosters just chillen out front. Of course, this target has all things Hawaiian and you can definitely find some great local merchandise and gifts that you can't get at your local Target location. The store is well stocked, clean and there are plenty of staff to assist. So.... The next time you travel to Kauai... Fella's, I recommend leaving a little space in your suitcase for that "spontaneous" Target run; your wife will appreciate you! Mahalo from the Mainland! read more

Smallish as far as Targets go. But so very nice to have an alternative to Walmart. Took them awhile to get things to a point where everything is in stock. Men's department super small...but grocery selection more than makes up for it. read more

Came here to use the restroom. Which was super clean. Also browsed the aisles. Looks like a brand new place (google map shows Kmart ) They didn't sell coffee offer spam pizza from Pizza Hut in the food area. Can't find that in CA! Haha. read more

10/26/24 Possibly the coldest Target I have ever been in!!! Finding ways to use gift cards instead of my own $$ or credit card is a great way to save some while on vacation, or whenever . This Target (I think the only Target in this island) is located in Lihue at the mall area, across from Costco & Safeway. It is convenient, staff are fairly helpful, the inventory is usually well stocked. Good & Gather (GG) products are sold here & surprisingly seem to be more affordable than the name brands. For instance, the GG almond milk is $2.99 while the Oatley brand is close to $6. Huge savings! I hope o It tastes just as good though, we'll see! I didn't do much browsing coz it was hella cold (I really that's like an oxymoron) & there's more sightseeing to follow instead. Quick pit stop-no muss no fuss! There are regular cashiers & also self checkout. Parking is plentiful, free. Thankfully no incident or issue encountered while at this location. Starbucks is also located inside this store--friendly staff there! read more

Very attractive, bright, open store with good selection of merchandise. Aisles are wide and items are easy to find. There were plenty of open checkouts and parking is easy. Self serve checkouts were available and there were plenty of employees on hand in case help was needed. read more

I love target in general and this one is pretty nice and big. They have all of the essentials you could need. However, I came her for a basic tank top since I had only brought 2 and after scouring the racks, they did not have a single one left in my size. They are out of stock from sizes S through L. Seems very expensive, even for an island store, and don't bother going and looking for Hawaiian items, they do have some stuff but it isn't much. I was disappointed. I figured I would go get some coffee for the mornings and maybe something to bring back but it was $2 more expensive then I had seen at the ABC store and the Mac nuts were more expensive as well. Head over to the time market and get your stuff for about $2 less each item it adds up. read more

I remember coming here when it was Kmart. So much staff here but no one spoke. Was surprised being that I was in Hawaii. Was impressed with their black hair care section. They had everything. Found what I came in for but was surprised there weren't more Hawaiian themed items. Was lookin gift souvenirs other than cookies and candy. Plenty of Self check out lanes and the shuttle stops right in front for 50 cents. read more

Needed some supplies and Target is one of the best spots to do get them. Even though you're in Hawaii, Target still feels like Target, no matter where you're at. A few isles were a little sparse, but overall they had everything we need for our trip. Lots of cheese and sweets, and of course water. Overall, I love Target, and will visit them over Wal-Mart any day of the week. read more

Most unfriendly Target I have ever been to. The floor staff didn't help when we asked for assistance locating an item. An individual collecting carts outside made noises instead of asking me to put a cart on his cart mover. The store was very clean but we will not be coming back. read more

This is Kauai's first Target, and it's certainly a state-of-the-art type and bright inside. It was previously a K-Mart years ago. It's conveniently located next to the Kukui Grove Shopping Center. Lots of space, and you can usually find a lot of your groceries and other necessities here. read more

We visited Target today. It's a very big store with alot of wide aisles. Shelves were mostly filled. Very brand new and super clean. Their produce is definitely cheaper than the local grocery stores, hopefully it will stay that way for a while. I was hoping for a super big sporting goods department but didn't see it. Big check out area, with self checkout. Saw Starbucks. The customer service area is way inside on the side of the pharmacy. Honestly I left there feeling underwhelmed. read more

Last month, I came to vist Hawaii on Kauai side. Went to Target and did shopping there. I am very surprised because I came across with these very respectful and lovely ladies at the Drive Up area and in the customer service area. They were very helpful. It was actually nice and appealing to the eyes seeing beautiful and friendly faces at Target especially in drive up and customer service area. If I am not mistaken, her name was Jenni, she got beautiful smile and a beautiful era herself. The other one was Samisha if I am not mistaken, she was very helpful to me regarding my returns with my items. Thanking them for their great service. I am from California and will definitely coming back again to Kauai Target store. read more

I'd say yes but you know how that goes with Service on the mainland much better!!! Kauai needs so much help! They fill store with bodies not customer service people. I will say the manager on shift was kind, polite, used proper grammar and had manners. She came from target in Oahu and knows that their bread is buttered by tourists! I'm no tourist tho we have a family home here and my parent has lived full time here on island over 25 years. Regardless, I may NEVER go back to Lihue store and why should I when there's hundreds of targets in the mainland that understand and provide excellent customer service on the regular. Unfortunate that the employees think they can get away with this behavior - which is why I told a manager. The cashier needs to check her attitude and rude facial expressions. Such an amazing experience! Really wished I got the representatives name. We did a drive up pickup. Checked in & the item was in our car within 2 minutes. We witnessed the target rep running to deliver the item to us and she did it with a smile. Very thankful for such great customer service. I looked for an area to provide feedback about our experience through the target app & give credit to the employee, but couldn't find somewhere. Really wish I could give this employee more credit. Her service was VERY appreciated. Mind you, all of this occurred during their Black Friday shopping event. Super awesome! read more

I shop at Target regularly in Lihue. The store is clean and has a good feel. I find most things I need there. The checkout staff are friendly. The floor staff however are terrible. The other day I was in there getting vegetables and there were two staff chatting loudly in front of where I needed to get produce. They did not move just kept talking so I had to move around them. I went back to another part of the produce department a few minutes later and they were still there chatting and doing no work. The aisles are constantly clogged with people stocking shelves but they do not try to let you past. The service has definitely gone downhill. read more

I decided to apply for Redcard debit card and was the first person to do so at this store! It turned out after 40 minutes with the initial cashier then the floor supervisor that it is not possible to do this at this store. Why doesn't Target inform the employees that work that area what is and is not possible to do in store. I tried to fill out the survey at the bottom of the receipt but that didn't work also. And the employee at the phone center had never seen a receipt and was not able to help me. First BAD experience at Target since I first entered a store back in 1975. read more

Did a "walk-around" yesterday @ Target except for the produce area. Has the same "feel" as smaller Targets elsewhere. As mentioned....LOTS of empty shelves due to the mad rush of residents for something new. Looked more like a store going OUT of business rather than STARTING a business. I'm sure that will change in time. Would advise Target to hire merchandise purchasers (clothing) that are more local to the area the store serves. The ONLY women's clothing I really saw were racks and racks and racks of sweaters....and therefore nobody shopping in that area. I love Target, but this store needs more skilled customer service representatives. I went to the returns and exchange department today and the people I dealt with were either rude or terribly uncommunicative. I understand people are short staffed, but thats no reason to be downright rude. Suggest better communication training for staff. read more

The customer service here is incredible. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful, quick to smile and offer assistance however they can. Even in the busy holiday season, the store is beautiful and immaculate. The layout of the store is great - open and uncrowded, organized, and easy to find the things you need.
