This target is very clean inside and out. Parking is extremely convenient, never had a problem finding a spot. I adore their little girl section (6-14). The cat and jack clothing line is extremely reasonable. They offer cute, trendy modern girls clothing. This brand is excellent very durable and quality. Outstanding prices!!! Unbeatable deals. Must buy if you have little girls. The shelves here are always well shocked. Yet they are considerably understaffed. There are always looooong lines with only two registers open. This store follows shoppers around for no reason. Once I walked inside, I noticed a guy wearing green pants standing by the women's clothing area. As I returned to the front of store, he was by a register looking at candy. I passed him and notice he starts following me to self checkout with no items. Then this female stands behind me, acting as if she's on her phone. After I finished checking out she says, "oh they loss." As if to give code I didn't take anything. Then she walks to the front of the store staring at her phone. As I walked out the store she laughed. I turned around and returned all purchased items to customer service for my money back! Knew exactly what I was going I for. I called before I went to make sure they had it in stock and lucky for me they price match so I was able to go there before Best Buy opened. I ordered online and received confirmation with the order number and store location that it was being prepared and should be ready in 2 hours. I waited two hours and went to the pickup desk. The manager Gustavo told me it wasn't in the system and they weren't preparing it. I asked if he could help me and he wrote the phone number for guest relations on a receipt and said I could call them. I was then on and off hold for 60 minutes with them. They kept insisting it was being prepared, while the manager told me they weren't preparing it. He told me I could go get the items myself and pay for them again. My favorite Target store. I like its two levels, its huge home department, and helpful employees. They have good customer service, too. For example, I got two toys out of a bin marked .99. I thought it was a very good deal, and I double checked the tags to make sure the bin was marked correctly. There were like 20 toys in the bin, too. Then when I went to the register, the toys rang up 2.99 each. I explained that the bin said .99, and that was the only reason I needed two; otherwise I just wanted one. The cashier called for a price check and I expected to have to wait, but the manager came over & authorized the sale for the marked price of .99. Which is what they should do; but they usually have to go check. It makes more sense to give me the marked price, because it ensures I'll buy more from them and also ensures the current sale and the sales for the people waiting in line behind me. read more

I'm always amazed by how empty this store is, even during some of the more busy times of the year (Thanksgiving and Christmas). It certainly helps that this is a two-story Target, that's sort-of-but-not-really located in a mall setting. (The Mission Valley location opens directly into the mall, so it always seems super busy. By contrast, this location has connections to the mall, but it's not directly accessible from the mall. I don't know if that makes sense, but I hope you get the gist.) There's ample parking around here, as well. If you can't find anything up front, swing around back to find a spot in the garage behind the Target. It's easy to get in and out of, and there's a lot of space, with direct access to the store. The employees here seem to a bit more friendly and willing to help, as well, though that may just be me projecting. I feel like the check-out process is a lot faster and less of a pain that at other locations. Plus, we're usually greeted when we step up to pay, which doesn't always happen, anywhere. It's refreshing, and when you add in that the checkers don't dilly-dally with scanning or bagging our items, it makes the experience so much better. It's a shame that this Target is out of our usual shopping area. I prefer it to our "normal" one, though we don't get to shop here all that often. I'm not a real big fan of "discount" stores, mainly because of the clientele they attract. For example, I refuse to shop or buy anything from a Walmart. That being said, I generally also never go into a Target. However, I must say that this location is the least offensive around. 1) They have a huge parking garage. Despite being at the Grossmont Center shopping mall with all of their parking, they also have their own garage. 2) They have a ton of employees. Maybe it's just the holidays and their seasonal hires, but I saw at least 20 people working the floor on my recent 30-minute trip there. 3) Finally, I had a bit of a complicated return and an internet purchase pick-up, and the employee that helped me was super competent! read more

The management in this store are awful. I went through self check out and before finalizing the transaction a screen popped up that said an employee was coming to help. The only employee in the area was Blaine and he is beyond incompetent. He didn't know what was going on so we called a manager. When the manager came she said she would go print a receipt and I would be good. 22 minutes passed between the time I completed the transaction and when the manager gave me a sheet of paper (not a receipt) that listed what I purchased. I bought socks and a couple other items I may return and I wanted an actual receipt. The manager said I could use my credit card which isn't completely true. Over the summer I tried to return a vacuum that did not work. I didn't have the receipt so I used my card. There was an issue with the return and I was told that I could not return it without the receipt because the refund was going to be too large. No one could show me any policy explaining this, but still refused to give the refund. I ended up having to dispute the charge with my credit card company to get the money back on that one. I am shocked that the manager didn't offer some sort of compensation for the wait, but she clearly didn't give damn. The only positive was an employee named Rere who talked and joked with my son and I while we waited. The manager is lucky, because if Rere had not been their to diffuse the situation I would have been livid by the time I was handed the piece of paper and I would have cussed her out for wasting my time. Perhaps you should fire your manager and promote Rere since she actually cares about customers and their experience. read more

I stopped here on a weekend evening to get something to eat. I opted to eat in and not go through the drive thru. The parking lot is really in the back of the building unless you need a handicap spot, those are the only ones in the front of the building. The whole dining area seemed very clean and well taken care of. There wasn't a line so I was able to order right away. The cashier was very kind and efficient. It didn't take long to get my food either. The food was typical Taco Bell food but I enjoyed it. The bathroom has a lock on it but the cashier will let you know the code. The bathroom was okay. It was fairly clean but needed some upgrades and maybe a bit deeper of a clean on some of the stains in the room. Overall, I was happy with my experience but I also don't expect a lot since it is Taco Bell. read more

Ultimately, I like Target. And I love their new carts. I don't think they're anymore expensive than Walmart if you compare items, especially quality. And of course the shopping experience is much better, how could it not be? I have been going to this one since it arrived in the '90s. I like that Target copied a lot of IKEA type stuff, but with comprehensible directions, and quality that doesn't just Immediately fall apart. And the designer brands from Target are great, unlike Vera Wang's sloppy boxy designs for Kohl's. I also liked the red card, esp w/free online shopping. However they cancel your card, if you don't use it every month! (Sorry, trying not to be a shopaholic. Geez ) I stopped shopping at this specific one, because of a really bad shopping experience/customer service experience. They overcharged me a lot for one item. (You really have to check your receipt with their sales items, I've repeatedly noticed.) It was a busy night of long lines, I was tired and standing was painful, because of my knee. The cashier who made the mistake wouldn't just take the item off and forced me to wait in a huge returns line for her mistake, after I already waied in one long line to check out! No apology, nothing. Once finished with the additional return line, and the amount credited back to my card, the people at the return counter could care less about how they'd inconvenienced a loyal customer. Disinterested the return counter checker mumbled some vague robotic apology while staring into space. One more thing, this is one of those stores that obsessively hounds would be shoppers with the obnoxious pushy count down an hour or more before closing. Personally, I wish these stores would just close an hour earlier, if that is when the employees actually want to go home! It is not my responsibility, as a shopper, to see employees get home early. I can't imagine how many sales they lose by irritating shoppers to no end with this. And I bet if it is employees doing this, not actual store policy. Not the best cashiers the last few times I've come in, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting (no toilet paper in the holders, only a few rolls left on the floor along with USED toilet paper scraps left along the floor), very disorganized shelves (almost like a Ross), and whenever I'm here shopping with my boyfriend we seem to get followed around and stared at by the security (my boyfriend is tall and "intimidating" looking. doesn't help that he's a POC). My attempt at reaching out to management because of a specific bad experience was met with a defensive and dismissive attitude. They ask for your personal experience on each receipt, but don't seem to actually want to hear it. If she doesn't enjoy her job maybe a fast paced high volume store isn't for her. This is my neighborhood Target. I've been coming here since it was built and I love it. Two floors and covered parking so you can beat the heat or rain. Always clean and has friendly, well trained staff. Everything is clearly marked and stocked well. They always have everything I need. If you can't find it here, you probably don't really need it (although I do miss the garden section and having two Starbucks in this mall seems overkill). Photo area seems to have machines that are either working really well or aren't depending on your timing. Small discount when you bring your bags is nice. The Target here is okay. Cons: Needs more people working there. Lines can get long and certain items aren't restocked too often. Also the self-checkout machines can lock up but usually they get fixed quickly. Pros: The store clerks and some of the workers I've talked to are very friendly. The parking is also great. As a sidenote, Be careful of any panhandlers who hang just outside of Target's no loitering zone. Had an older buddy who was asked for groceries by two ladies claiming to be immigrants. Once he said yes they bombarded him with a load of other requests. I wish I could leave -5 stars for the entire corporation. I have never experienced such a money-driven, incompetent organization as Target today. I walk into the store and this older woman is wearing a hat that has a mesh overlay, with NO MASK. As a high risk, pregnant woman, I was very disturbed. She saw me watching and made a snotty comment to me. I told her that I'm high risk and pregnant, she needs to put on a mask. She proceeds to shop and a Target employee approaches me apologizing, but saying there is nothing they can do. Apparently Target's policy is to offer a mask and to tell them about drive up delivery, but they aren't making her leave or wear a proper mask. By law as a private property establishment, they are legally able to refuse service, but they choose profit over the health and well-being of the population. Now, I love Target so it hurts me to give this one 3 stars! We all know Target stores have everything...even stuff you didn't know you needed until you saw it haha. Prices are great and products are great too! But I was a little disappointed with the store layout here at their Grossmont location. It seemed weird to me to enter directly in the cosmetics area. Regardless, I was looking for home items so I walked around for a bit before realizing that it was only Kitchen items upstairs and some cleaning items and that other (...actual?) home items were downstairs. I think they could organize the products here better. I am usually able to find what I am looking for with ease and that was not the case here. Although I did find what I was looking for at the end of the day, I also noticed that many items were not stocked in their proper places. I went to look for a curtain rod for my bedroom and kept getting confused because many prices did not match the product. Or the same product (with the same measurements and such) were put on three different racks with three different prices. I guess its a good thing they have the barcode scanners every few aisles, but I found myself checking everything and having to lug multiple rods just to figure out which one was the best value. At the electronics area my bf and his dad were testing out the new Play Station and XBox and once I had found what I was looking for I met up with them. I must say I was very impressed with the sales associate who was helping them out. He was very knowledgable about the game consoles and spoke from personal experience. But again, a let down that they were out of stock in the Play Station that my bf had decided he wanted to purchase. Oh well...! If I am in the area I will most likely stop in, but this location is not particularly convenient in more ways than one! read more

Generally a good experience here, but anytime you call, no one picks up! And when someone does pick up the phone, they hang up on you. Today, my husband walked in to return our ergobaby, since we found our original one, to be told he couldn't return without a receipt because it was over $100. We literally shop at Target all of the time, and there's no way for them to check the credit card info used for purchase to ensure it was in fact bought at Target? I tossed the receipt when I accepted I couldn't find our other ergobaby and in times like this, I wish I just saved it to alleviate any issues. Separately, but on the same day, my husband buys a Millie Moon size 5 diapers box for our toddler and he brings it home. I open the box only to find two packs of Huggies brand size 1 diapers and some random San Diego diaper bank program sticker on another pack of diapers stuffed into the box! This is very much inconvenient to have purchased a CLEARLY RETURNED product that someone got rid of for free money back into their wallet probably. If Target and my house both caught fire, and I could only save one... It would totally be Target. I love Target. Especially this one. I love everything about it. I love taking my time, browsing up and down the aisles, looking at stuff I don't need and probably won't buy. I love being able to run in and grab the things I need and run out (I pay for it.. I don't steal... I promise). I love the layout; all spacious and neat and clean. I love not having to deal with huge crowds and long lines. I love that the employees don't freak me out. I love that there is parking aplenty in the structure around the back. I love that there's a Jamba Juice conveniently located upstairs. I love that I can get just about anything I need on a single visit to one store. I love all of Target's store brand products. I think working at a target would be stressful it's busy all the time the customers expect more from target. With that said I live in santee and the employees at santee target are just not as nice or helpful returns are always a pain. I feel like I have to ask three different employees for help before I find someone who can help me. I had to make a special trip to this target yesterday because my eight year old daughter had to have a special T- shirt. She never ask for clothes so I knew this was important to her . The target in Santee and el Cajon were out of this shirt . This target had one left in her size . Got to this location couldn't find the shirt an employee found out they had one left in her size. She wouldn't give up looking until she found it. The shirt ended up being in a fitting room go back section. If it wasn't for this empylee we would have left empty handed and a heart broken eight year old however this lady saved the day. I love target however this location is the best staff .
