This Target store is very close to my house but I find that I must go to either the Lemon Grove, Santee or El Cajon store to find what the Grossmont store is always missing. This morning I called them 7 times. Only once did someone pick up and she transferred me to another line that no one answered after 15 minutes of ringing. I am a big film buff and buy a great many blu-ray's and 4K movies but this store almost always has nothing but old kid movies on their rack and rarely is a new release there. I guarante you that if you went 7 days in a row, you would see no change in their offerings. I even asked one of there so-called reps about a film and they sent me down to the El Cajon store saying they had 4 copies. So I drove all the way down there only to find that they had nothing. I don't know who the manager is but they clearly are not doing their job at the expense of those who want to purchase something. Since they continually refuse to answer the phones there, I will have to get in the car and drive there probably only to find that they do not have what I want. After watching Cobra Kai with my kiddos I decided that they needed to see the original Karate Kid series. After searching local stores on line I found the dvd at Grossmont Target but it was stated limited quantity. Only ONE copy in store. Upon arrival I spotted an employee who appeared to be headed to lunch, but still took the time to search through every shelf along with me and was actually the one to spot the ONLY COPY! If you close at 10pm are guests allowed to shop until 10pm without being harassed? I was done with my shopping and on my way to the front door to pay at 10pm and had already had three employees making sure to tell me that I need to leave now because they are closed, and they had been telling me that for the last few minutes over and over again, and one of them started following me to the front. I came in to buy one thing right before closing time... I get it, the staff wants to go home. Or maybe it's company policy to have all guests out by 10pm... so maybe close at 9:45 so people can leave by 10? I've never seen a business fight so hard to lose a guest. read more

I always have such a positive experience in here. I wish I had gotten the name of the retail assistant that helped me. He had medium long brown hair in the front kind of wavy, with a shock of almost White in his hair, and glasses. A young, very nice man. The music wasn't too loud although I could hear the bass, my car works just fine, the item that I was looking for was right where he told me it was, and I even got some other items that I needed. If you are expecting any service from Target avoid the Grossmont Center location. There is an entire floor that is dedicated to costumers checking themselves out, usually with a crazy line while 4 check out stands remain empty and a Target employee leans against the empty check out stand on their phone. When you ask them a question while you are doing their job and checking out they are the least helpful and most useless people. The nasty attitude of the actual checkers is no better. It is a shame Target no longer cares about QUALITY customer service. This is why we use Amazon. Get what you need without the attitude of employees. read more

The customer service while I was shopping today was terrible. I was shopping for a backpack in an aisle where employees go in and out of their backroom. I wanted to look closer at the backpacks, so I requested assistance using the call feature. No employees came to assist me and as I was standing there multiple, (probably 7 or 8),employees came out of the backroom. I was completely ignored, no eye contact, nothing. I have shopped there before, and the customer service at check out has been fine however I've never needed assistance on the floor. I bought nothing. I will never go back to this location and possibly not shop at Target at all. read more

Two story Target meaning lots of shopping choices. I'm not quite used to the layout here but once you get the hang of it you'll find all of your typical necessities, groceries, and houseware items that you would normally look for. If I could go negative stars I would. Had to be one of the most disappointing shopping experiences ever. Went to Target this past Saturday night and picked up a few items to purchase. Everything went smoothly until we went to the register. The young male kid at the register informed us that we could not buy an item because it was not in their register system. That it was a guest service's issue. So I asked him if we could get someone from guest services to help us. The young kid continues by saying that he was "Guest Services" and wouldn't help us any further on purchasing that particular item "That was clearly labeled and on the sales floor". Upon leaving the store. My family as well as I were very perplexed to say the least on the unwillingness of the Target employee to help us. Determined to buy the same item the next day. My wife and son go back to that same Target to purchase that one item. This time they are confronted by another young employee. This time a female. The day before there were four box displays full of this one item (12 to a box). Today there was one box display left with only one item in it. The girl said in a smart tone that the vendor picked up the item. What?! On a Sunday?! Her and the young male kid the night before must of been trained by the same person because their customer service was horrible. Long story short, my son and wife got frustrated at the young girl employee. The female employee panicked and called security. Both my wife and son with my 16 month grandkid were rudely escorted out of Target like criminals. I am writing this to voice my displeasure on how my family and I were treated. Loyal, paying customers should never be treated in such a manner. This is not the end. Time to take matters in my own hands. This guy is pissed off. read more

I was looking for an 8 cube shelf and the only Target that had it was snout 40 minute drive away from me do Road trip I get to Target Grossmont and omg it's not there then CHRISTOPHER R. walks by and he looked it up and the last one we went to buy sold 45min ago basically while I was driving there. He was so nice he gave us a similar higher priced one for the same price. Went and got us a cart CHRISTOPHER R just went above and beyond THEN the girl that checked us out I didn't get her name she was super great too!! Came here to look for a Mother's Day card and to get some produce and household goods. This Target is great because it's huge (2 levels) and there is plenty of parking. There is a huge lot and on the other side, there is a parking structure. Not too crowded here, but sometimes lines can get long. They got pretty long here, but they immediately opened up other lanes for checkout. If lines are still long, you can always checkout at the Guest Services area. read more

Guy at tech department was really nasty. I was asking about iPad and he said they don't have them on the floor, so which one I want. I said I want to know what different types they have. He said well how much you want to spend. I said I want to know what option are there. He starts smirking and laughing like I should know exactly what I want. I wanted to know the different specifics, but I ended up leaving because he was talking to me like I'm stupid. Never again walking into this target. I was in the area after vising my doctor and had to return a bunch of clothes I ordered online that either were crap quality or didn't fit properly (because why can't we just stick with size=size ugh anyways...). The line wasn't long but the people working the front desk were slow. When I finally got up there the lady was frustrated with me because one of my orders wasn't coming up in their system even with a receipt. She got a bit snarky with me, but using the Target App I was able to pull up another bar code for her to scan. It wasn't MY fault the shipping receipt was screwed up, so don't get grumpy with me lady! After that debacle I wandered around the store. It's a rather large store and decently organized. The clearance section for clothing was a mess when I visited, but I think that might be true of most places. I found some expired yogurt in the food section and I think every ice cream I wanted was sold out. So feeling defeated I finally left, so I can't speak to the attitude or speed of the cashiers. The parking lot was nicely maintained but they could use more spaces. When I was there it was packed. Overall I'd come back if I was in the area and needed to, but I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here. read more

When I came to Target to get water and other products that I needed my experience was absolutely disappointing. There was a apple pie that had MOLD literal mold spores growing on it. When I gave the apple pie to the one of the employees working there he just told me "I'll take care of it" which is not very convincing that he even cared at all. The employee could have at least said "I'm so sorry I'll take care of it" if he added literally 3 words to that sentence it would have sounded 10 times better. There where chip bags on the floor that were ripped open and damaged. I hope that this never happens again to others. read more

Bought a gift card and it was not activated properly by the cashier. Tried to get it fixed at Target, and they wouldn't help me and was pretty rude about it. Store a mess. Felt like WalMart #2. When I called Visa to get it activated (which the associate from target didn't do), someone had used $30 on DoorDash already. I had to file a claim and have to wait 45-90 days before using the card. read more

I want to give a big shout out to ReRe at Target La Mesa for being an exceptional human. My blood sugar was low going into the store--my service dog had alerted me already--and being the stubborn Irish girl I am, thought I could tough it out and get through my quick shopping trip. Well, wouldn't you know, I went through a hypoglycemic attack while standing in her check out and she picked some fruit out for me to consume while she rushed to bag my items. This Target is hugeeeeee! I think this is my favorite Target location out of all of the Targets I have been to. This one is two levels and is separated sort of as the standard store portion upstairs (think: food and consumables, vitamins and health products, cosmetics, etc.), and home goods downstairs (such as bed and bath, clothing, and shoes). This location is quite clean and the staff is very friendly. There are quite a few entrances/exits, so it can be a bit confusing if you forget where you entered. However, it also has a parking garage, or you can park on the other side out near the other stores (sort of a mall), but more like a shopping center. This location always has everything I need, and has quite a few things that I don't see in some of the other Targets (certain decoration items, for example). This is almost a Super Target, so if you're fiending for a Target trip, definitely check this one out! read more

I usually shop at this target but their service has been quite disappointing for the past few times that I've been. First of all they don't have enough cashiers and they try to force you to use self checkout. There was a huge line today and only two cashiers open. As if I needed another reason to never step foot in another target again. Customer service is practically nonexistent. Cashier I worked with, who didn't have a name tag or a name on the receipt, told me the issue was out of her control. I go speak to a manager, and alas! There is a solution to the problem, but I would have to wait up to 3 business days for a refund from a cash transaction... wtf... unbelievable. read more

This target has a lot of issues. The returns desk is constantly understaffed. I'm currently standing in line with 1 person working on a Saturday. There are 8 of us in line. Additionally every single online order I have placed at this store has been lost. The shelves are constantly empty. I do not enjoy shopping here. I have always been a big Target fan since they opened years ago. This location at the Grossmont mall is a great location. When I come to this mall, it is usually my last stop after shopping in the mall because I normally pick up some perishable items. Today, they had wheat bread, frozen veggies, and Pepperidge Farm cookies on sale, so I picked some up which leads me to why I like this place. They always have competitive prices and great sales that normally beat supper market prices. Every time I come by, they always have something good on sale. I am also happy to see that this location still has a garden center because the one near my residents does not have one any more. This particular location was clean and well stocked. This is my main catch-all store. I come here for last minute groceries, cleaning supplies, toiletries, greeting cards, school supplies, light bulbs, ect. The best thing about this store is its proximity to my house. The employees are usually friendly and will help you if you ask for assistance. Sometimes you get lucky and get a great employee, but this is pretty rare in my experience with this location. I give it four stars because when it comes down to it they always have what I want in stock, for the price I want to pay and that's really why I shop here. read more

I heart Target, especially this one. They always have everything I need whether it's deodorant, gum, coffee creamer, or Foster Farms mini corn dogs. Sometimes I do my grocery shopping here because it's just as cheap, if not cheaper than say, Von's or Ralph's. The food is good, the shoes are cute, no complaints here. I go in there with every intent to be in and out of there but somehow manage to stay for an hour or two. Sometimes you pay a bit more for the same thing at Target than you would at Wal*Mart, but I would gladly pay a few cents extra so that I don't have to squeeze my cart through the ailes crowded full with big military baby-mommas. This is mostly my go to Target because it is 2 minutes from my home, but other than that lately this Target is an absolute fail Target routinely bends me over and robs me of my money, consistently 2-3 times per week...and I let them Yet lately I find myself wanted to wander to *GASP* the nearby Wal-mart. Why? For one Target thinks they are the Neimen Marcus of retail. While their grocery and cleaning products are still decent in price (what I mainly go there for) everything else is pretty much price gouging Another irk is it is severely understocked. Parking lot? Don't get me started Lastly and routinely the most bothersome thing about this location is the stockers are from the Helen Keller School of Stocking and Labeling. Nothing is in the right place, the sale tags are outdated and the price is normally higher than you expected. Twice in the last two days this has happened to me and I brought it to their attention. They didn't even question it and changed the price...That should tell you something So I guess if you live in the area and don't want to bother with another location then I guess it will do, but for anyone else I would go for a different location. This Target has two stories but you can get lost real quick. The prices are like any other Target and so are the customers and you know what I mean. Anyway there is a no Starbucks but there is a Jamba Juice and a Target snack bar. The employees seem cool and I never had any issues but the last time I went to the snack bar I waited about 10 minutes before an employee came to help me. I will definitely come back and I like how this Target is in a mall shopping center. Also there is tons of parking because there is a parking structure on the back side of Target. read more
