CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWESOME. Just one insight before putting tags or if the target community is doing this please be aware that people work hard to place things good and not get SCAMED & complain. The Curbside pickup in Independence is the best shopping accommodation to happen during this pandemic! The convenience of ordering and paying In the morning and picking up just a few hours later has been an amazing help! The workers who deliver packages to the car have been professional, courteous, and friendly, even on the cold and rainy days. I appreciate that they politely check my code against theirs to ensure that merchandise is delivered to the correct vehicle. My orders have consistently been complete and packaged neatly. We went to self checkout and someone hid the "cards only" sign under the machine. The cashier in front of us called for an associate to help which took FOREVER and I heard the cashier say "there was a sign that said cards only." And it felt very condescending. I almost returned everything due to their behavior. She misgendered me after giving me my change. Made me extremely uncomfortable, this is not the way Target is supposed to be. read more

Target, I was so over joyed when I heard the people of Independence are going to be so privileged to be given your store in our community. But, why is it when I need something, you never have it? I can go to the Lee's Summit Target and get whatever I want. I was looking, in this case, for a bottle of lemon juice. (Don't ask why I'd think this Target would have it, I was in the area, and didn't want to stop at Hy-vee). Yep, this is all about a bottle of lemon juice. This Target is in a safe area, and I feel comfortable there, after dark. You know, the general Target items are supposed to be a step up from the WalMart items. I generally do fairly well with Target, but if I want a bunch of items, I by pass it for Walmart. I like Target's house brand of food, Archer Farms. They carry interesting items, that taste good. And the Independence store has a few. I've bought lemon juice at this store before, along with my Lipton tea bags. This time, Target turned on me. I was looking for Minute Rice, and I found 2 of the smallest boxes made, which I bought (One box for a meal, at our house). I've bought the larger box at this Target before. I asked the employees where the lemon juice was, and they had no idea. I looked around every aisle of food again (finding Morningstar Burgers, which I put into my cart). No lemon juice anywhere. I scanned the clothing, which is usually pretty good. I was able to find a nice pair of yoga pants for $16.00. I like Target for clothes. But I might not be back at this Target, despite it's locality. When they do have the item I am looking for, it's usually in good condition, and I find other items as well. Not this time. I even scanned the CD's, and the appliance department, and didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I've noticed that's becoming habit for this Target, which is unfortunate. I like to shop at local stores, so that they stay in our area. I don't like to have to go to Lee's Summit to shop at Target, but I suppose I will from this point forward. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Target yet. I go to this Target occasionally. Its always nice and clean. I can find what I'm looking for easily. I especially come here when companies sell their limited edition items/foods, ect here; like Target exclusives. I also like some of Target's house brand Up and Up. The only Up and Up item I didn't like was their version of the hand Swiffer. Target also happens to be nicer than Wal-Mart, but more expensive. read more

On August April 24th, I placed an order with Target for a Thermaltake computer case to be delivered on April 28th. On the 26th, I received an email pushing my delivery date to May 4th. On April 28th, I received an email indicating my delivery would not be delivered until May 5th but that the order had been "shipped". On the morning of May 5th, I checked the UPS shipping number to determine when my package would be delivered, but the UPS status indicated they hadn't even received my package. I called Target and waited on hold for almost 30 minutes before speaking with someone who indicated they would have to transfer me to another department that could help me. I held after the transfer for another 30 minutes before being disconnected. I called the 2nd number back and after holding for 10 minutes, I left my contact information for a call back. After 4 hours, I still had not received a call back. I called the 2nd number again and waited for close to an hour before speaking with a customer service representative. She told me she could refund my money or we could try to determine what had happened to my package. Target had sent me multiple emails indicating the delivery date of my package, and they did not, in fact, have any idea where it was. The only way they had to contact Thermaltake vendor was an email address (I googled and found a number for them the following day.) They sent the company an email and CCed me so I could be made aware of the progress. The following day (May 6th, 12 days after the order had been placed), I called the 2nd number again and was on hold for over an hour. I spoke with a representative who confirmed they'd received an email from Thermaltake the previous evening (I was not included) and the information I'd been provided the previous day was incorrect. Even though Thermaltake could only say they'd look into it, Target's policy was to not provide any kind of refund until 48 hours after the anticipated delivery date (a date they apparently just made up). I would have to wait until Friday, call and be on hold for another hour (at least) just so I could get my refund. I originally encouraged not ordering anything from Target or buying anything from Thermaltake, but as a result of this experience, I strongly recommend not doing business with either of these companies. Target has already taken my money and refuses to refund it even after they've confirmed the product I ordered hasn't even been shipped from the manufacturer. Thermaltake has a telephone number, but no one answers it and no one returns calls. It's unfortunate that there seems to be no concern for the well being of the customer. All for less than $200. read more

I cant in very good consciousness give this store a raving revuew. Before it was great customer service. I could get in and out with no problems. I dont know if its new management or what but this store has gone down down downhill. If a customer is waiting behind a customer that has a difficult order to ring up its common courtesy for the cashier to apologize and greet the customer. I didnt get that. I tried to use my target credit card to pay and she didnt inform me beforehand that it had to be selected before it was rang up which forced me to use another card because why would I sit thru having to ring my items all over again. Then I had an online order to pick up and the girl that does that is just out and out rude. Not friendly at all. If she hates her job she should quit. Im big on customer service and this store does not have it at all. Id rather travel further to experience better service. Id advise people to stay away from this horrible location. read more

I was just here two days ago. I think this has to be my absolute favorite Target store near Kansas City. The employees are always so nice and the store is always clean. I especially love the convenience of Starbucks and Pizza Hut being in here too. A caffeine boost for exhausted parents and pizza to quiet yappy kids, it's a win-win. It also doesn't hurt that their bathrooms are always super clean and the air freshener they use smells just like fruit loops, lol read more

Be sure to check expiration dates on food products! I have found expired milk and baby yogurt more than 5 times in the past 8 months! Also, baby cookies were 3 months past expiration. I have called a manager every time but they don't take it seriously. So, be sure to look out for yourself since they won't! Not enough cashiers. I love Target but they are lacking. read more

Wish this was a super target but they do have a decent grochery side with the use of the cartwheel app target coupons and you can use manufacturer coupons they are cheaper than Wally World and ten times cleaner. I actually like this store. My only complaint about target has and always will be that they do not have many cashiers or registers open. As to the cleanliness of the store it is in great condition and everything is very well stocked and faced. The customer service is average. However compared to Walmart this target is definitely worth the trip. read more

Do not use the Target website to store pickup . They have odd rules that prevent you from picking up items. They do not warn you about these rules during ordering. You do not have the same rules at Walmart store pick up which I have used many times and never had a issue. Also you can get no help from store management, who will only give you a 1800 number which was useless. You could not get a regional manager's numbrer from the store manager, and the 1800 number said you had to get that from the store manger. The standard run around you get when a store does not want you to talk to someone who can actually help. Not the same at Wal mart or Burger King, where i have had issues in the past number of years and both easlie gave me regional manger numbers and both problems were quickly taken care of. By the way Lei C. the reason the store is so clean is no one hardly ever shops there. read more
