Quite literally the WORST Target I've ever been to. Crazy how it's the size of a City Target but it's not even in the city? Items are usually out of stock or with limited quantity/selection. The employees here are always chatting with one another and yelling for one another across the store extremely loudly and inappropriately. I once was told to give them a call the next day regarding an out of stock item and literally tried 4 different times in 2 days and nobody picked up. I went in a week later and addressed this issue with a manager. She shrugged and said, "you should just come in and check next time!" Rude employees, horrible stock inventory and tiny Target. Despite the logo, this really doesn't feel like a target. The quality actually feels like a Walmart ... in a college town.... There are always boxes everywhere, in every isle. The whole place looks like abandoned storage. The clothing "section" is really just piles of clothes in the middle of the store not even bothered to be properly put away. This store cheapens the target name. It really needs new management. Or management. The location is small. So there isn't much to upkeep. Yet the self checkout registers are always broken. The checkout lines are typically long because of it, even when the store is practically empty. I'd hate to see how they deal during the holiday rushes. The only saving grace is the occasional free samples they give out that remind you you're at a target. Oh and they have WiFi. If you sit at the small Starbucks seating are you can bring a laptop. This target is highly disappointing! Between the boxes in the aisle that leave limited mobility, understocked shelves and almost a half of store that is locked behind glass; this is not the idea place to shop. When looking for feminine products, deodorants or oral health care products why must I be forced to look for an employee to unlock what I need? And if the items are locked up to deter stealing; why do you give the item to the customer in their hand and let them walk away with it? Please make it make sense! When I was shopping I needed help looking for a product. There was a young woman named Laura and she was incredibly helpful. She was very sweet and helped my daughter. Brand new Target in Elmont which I'm sure the neighborhood welcomed it. But it's way too small. I'm used to frequenting their larger store locales so seeing this size was disappointing. The store has a Starbucks just as you walk in, no Pizza Hut like the others. But it does have all the usual aisles of "everything". Kids clothes, women's, men's, and it has the Market Pantry (fridge section and snacks/boxed food). Somewhat of a tech and electronics section. Otherwise, this spot is missing the other stuff like home decor and larger appliances. At least there were plenty of registers. But I prefer the larger size store. I couldn't find anything I needed but I did buy some food and spent time at the Starbucks. LOL read more

If you need something in a hurry and you're really not picky as to the brand, this target is probably worth stopping at. It's very small and the selection is not extensive, but you will find most things. I have been here twice now. Parking has never been a problem. There are employees all over the store to help you. I realize they have a lot of merchandise to put out and they seem to be constantly working, but I think one or two of them could go on registers occasionally. Yesterday when I was here there were six people online and only one register open. Opposite the registers are a handful of self checkouts but only two were working. A man way ahead of me rang all his stuff up on one of the self checkouts. But since his credit card didn't have a chip he couldn't complete the sale. So that register could not be used until someone came out and cleared it and started it over. In the 15 or so minutes that I was there, it was not fixed, so there was only one self check and one register person. It was a little annoying. They need to get their act together. read more

I love target! This has always been the main location I shop or browse at. I usually let Target tell me what I want. This location has been updated drastically. I guess Target stores in general are getting makeovers. I have to get used to where everything is again. A little bit of a difficult layout, but the different departments are set up beautifully on their own. Everything looks and feels great quality. They have a new setup at customer service and a separate area/ counter dedicated to online order pick ups. There's a new corner area just for beer with a great selection. Lines aren't really an issue with a self checkout option available. read more

I literally came in for order pick up and waited 30 minutes because they were doing a return . Never have I been to a target where it's all one line . Now I remember why I never came here! It's so hard to do this to Target, I mean who doesn't love Target, if you don't you're just a miserable person who fails to indulge on the beauties of life aka Target (no judgement). Anyhow this location is just TERRIBLE! And no it's not because it's a smaller store. Let's start with the fact that everything in this store is a lot pricier than online and at other Target stores. Ex, honest baby conditioner was approximately $7 more here than on their website or Westbury store. Why?! That's a great question. Second, where are the employees?! Maybe it's just me but the mini-target idea seems odd. It's like it's trying to be a CVS or a Walgreens but with a random produce aisle thrown in there and a bigger selection of frozen foods. I guess if you need something quick it's good but don't expect to feel like you're in a real target. I like to look at the clothes and shoes at target when I go but this location has a very limited selection since it is such a small store. This Target is the pits. The aisles constantly have boxed items left on pallets in the middle of walkways. Staff is pretty much uncaring. Tonight they crammed everyone into the check out area as a line was forming. Staff was barking "following guest" to get people to the registers. Carts clogging up the narrow walkway by the registers. Tonight I was struck in the elbow by an irate customer with a cart trying to navigate this area that prompted an argue that the security... err..: shrink prevention, Kevin, and some millennial with bushy hair and glassy (no name tag) snickered at instead of stepping in to cool heads. At least the cashier asked if I was okay. It's the closest Target to me and I will only go here from now on if there is no other option. read more

I love target. I don't know that I love it right in my back yard... they take all my money! Lol! But this target is cool. Its REALLY VERY tiny. Good for things you forgot or ran out of or need last minute. There is plenty of parking as it's located in a plaza. There is typically only 1 cashier and they expect you to use self checkout which I don't like but I understand because it is a mini store. I like it because everyone in there knows us! My son will ask me "Mommy, can we walk up to target." And he high fives and gives "boom" (pound) to all the employees. Honestly this Target doesn't have that feel of many of the others I've ever been to. It's confusing and strange and just plain unfamiliar and borderline depressing. I really cannot describe what makes it feel that way to me but it feels more like a KMart than a Target. To start things off where is the public restroom? I've never been to a Target that didn't have one in plain sight whether it's by the check outs or near the restaurant which in this case was a Starbucks. The opposite end was an interior CVS. Everything just seemed smaller, compact and different. The checkout is a winding line instead of registers lined up with each lane. What's up with that? Unlike the Home Depot in the same plaza, this has a tiny big box feeling as opposed to a large big box store. This store should be instead called Targette. read more

This is not a Target! Okay, well it kinda is -- but a tiny, truncated version of one. I was driving along Hempstead Turnpike and was excited to see the logo in the distance. I thought to myself, "I didn't know there was a Target here!" So...I went back the following week when I needed to do a "Target run." I was beyond disappointed. "Where is the rest of it?" I thought. I attempted to get some of what I needed with the limited options and immediately questioned this decision. The items for purchase seemed to be a bit more overpriced that other Targets. Exacerbating this experience was the checkout -- it follows the TJMaxx/Marshall's/Home Goods model: one line with a bunch of merchandise lining the isles and wait for an available register. Then there is this: the awful, uninterested, slow and lifeless staff. Absolutely NO customer service. Two cashiers were bitching that there was no help and they needed breaks in the corner; no one was ringing anyone up and the line kept growing. This "Target" is the worst. Avoid. Avoid. Terrible! I went here with my mom and the place was chaotic. I was so disappointed because I live so close! I was so excited for a closer target than westbury or valley stream. This place has half the merchandise of a normal target. The staff was not friendly and using cell phones instead of helping people. The line was so long and moving so slow. When we tried to leave the store after purchasing my shirt we couldn't because there was a crowd of carts and people. The only positive is I got my shirt for a good price and it is cute. read more

On the one hand they have the best prices in the area. But this particular location is just a train wreck from start to finish. First of all, getting into the store is a mess because whether you drive or walk in, the parking and both of the entrances/exits to Hempstead Turnpike lot is a disaster waiting to happen. Merchandise placement is counterintuitive. Where is the baking powder? With the flour and the rest of the baking supplies? NO, it's with the spices three aisles away. Literally every single time I've came here there were large crates, fork lifts, and whatever else they could think of blocking whole aisles. And good luck getting an employee to help you get what you came for. This place was supposed to create jobs for the residents?! You should never expect to see more than three employees at the store at one time, even on a Saturday. If you're going to have one cashier, perhaps you should have more than five self-checkouts, especially because only two of them were working! The checkout line is a disaster, as it's not obvious who is waiting for the cashier and who is waiting for self-checkout. Be careful or someone will cut you on line. My last visit I waited 15 minutes and there were 2 people ahead of me. When exiting, the rows of carts are in your way. Like, this is the smallest Target in the US. There's nothing in this store any able-bodied person couldn't hold in one hand. Why do you need so many full-size shopping carts? This was going to be a 3-star review until I noticed that they had the emergency exits completely blocked with those crates and forklifts. read more

Went to this target today, it had a CVS pharmacy and a Starbucks which is pretty neat. It's the only target near me so I am unfamiliar with others and can't compare it to any others, but it was a great experience. I love the amount of groceries it has, and the fact that it has a frozen food aisle and an aisle for produce. The cookie section kept me for a solid ten minutes lol. There was also clothing, a small selection of video games (should expand that) and some toys. There was also a big hallmark section, and an aisle for supplies and paint. The Starbucks is quite tiny and doesn't have a lot of food options, and the line was somewhat long when we went. But it's great to have a closer option for Starbucks as well as I frequent the area often. This target would be perfect if it was bigger and carried more variety of everything. read more

Gave it three, its nice and clean. Airy and open you feel coming in not crowded. They took advantage of the small space to put a target and made feel welcoming. It has food section that was surprising. Please be aware that the prices here are extremely higher than the regular target. So do some research for spending that money, as well as the regular big targets the prices are much higher here. Saw some pictures of all the inventory in aisle, it's very true. As well as not being able to find help or any type customer service. In all actuality I think a lot targets are limited in employees lately depending on the area. For a small-format shop, this Target has plenty to offer: kitchen items, home decor, groceries, CVS staples, and, to boot, Starbucks. (By the way, Starbucks, can you please set up a full shop in Elmont? This little one draws plenty of business; the demand is here. Thanks.) The store is clean, bright, and well-organized; I've also head that many of the staff members hail from the community, and I'm a huge supporter of local businesses, particularly ones that support the neighborhood. Considering the volume of people shopping when I've been visited, checkout has been quite expeditious. The only drawback is that the groceries eat up (pun intended) a large portion of the store; I'd like to see more clothing, accessories, and goods for the home in the food's place. read more

This is a great addition to this community that was definitely lacking. It's a mini target so it's not going to have nearly as much as a regular store but it's got a nice grocery section, pharmacy and all the basics. One of the best experiences I have had at a big box store. I came in on a Saturday morning, despite of it being busy I was able to find someone to help me right away. I had two 100 lbs items from my registry which I needed to returned. Mia, the manager personally bought me a cart and helped my husband bring both boxes inside. We ran into an issue with one of the items but again, I was surprised to see how helpful the cashier was. Alizaay, was able to sort through my issue right away and I was on my way. I know people usually use yelp to talk about their negative experiences, but this target and their staff deserves a round of applause. Thank you for your help guys!!! read more
