Five Below? More Like Five & UP!…read more Mixed Bag This Reviews | The Nice & The Brutal! Five Below - Westbury, NY November 2, 2026 Rating: 4/5 Stars Today, my sister and I decided to stop by Five Below in Westbury, and I have one question: WHY is it still called Five Below? At this point, it should be called FIVE & UP! Just like Dollar Tree should be called Dollar Twenty-Five Tree & UP! Now, let's get into THE NICE & THE BRUTAL! THE NICE: First, I have to give a special shoutout to the very nice young man who helped me! I wish I had gotten his name. He wore glasses and had his hair in twists hanging down. He was extremely polite, patient, and helpful. YOU are the reason this location received 4 stars for customer service! I originally came in looking for a Samsung phone holder, but he kindly informed me that they only carried iPhone holders. I said, "WOOOOW!" We both laughed, and I decided to settle for something even better--my adorable HELLO KITTY SLIPPERS! And let me tell you, this store was FULLY STOCKED! Shelves were packed with all kinds of goodies. Whether you're shopping for early Christmas gifts, birthday presents, stocking stuffers, or just treating YOURSELF, there was plenty to choose from! THE BRUTAL: Now, let's talk about the welcome--or should I say, the LACK of one! When my sister and I walked into the store, nobody greeted us. I'm used to shopping at the Five Below in New Hyde Park, where employees actually say, "Welcome to Five Below!" when customers walk in. However, the young lady with the red and black hair at the Westbury location apparently forgot to greet us. What made it noticeable was that she greeted the customers who walked in right behind us! Hmmmm... interesting! A simple hello goes a LONG way in customer service, and EVERY customer deserves the same warm welcome! THE FINAL VERDICT: Despite the rocky entrance, I enjoyed shopping, found my Hello Kitty slippers, and left a happy customer! And I GUARANTEE that once you see these pictures, somebody will be running to Five Below tomorrow to grab early Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, or a little something for themselves! I hope you enjoy browsing these pictures as much as I enjoyed shopping! FINAL RATING: 4 OUT OF 5 STARS! The helpful young man definitely earned THE NICE, while the inconsistent greeting earned a little taste of THE BRUTAL! MIXED BAG THIS REVIEWS - THE NICE & THE BRUTAL! Because great products are wonderful, but GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE is what keeps customers coming back!

Five Below offers incredible finds, such as toys, accessories, clothing, and art supplies from $1-$5 and beyond $5. There are self check-out kiosks and a staff member to check-out with. The staff member asked if I was paying with credit card/cash. I said credit card and she showed me to a self check-out kiosk. I purchased a Disney Princess Super Activity Kit, which includes 3 sticker sheets, 10 crayons, 2 punch-out characters with stands, 4 posters, and 24-page coloring book. This is a great activity for kids. All the sections in the store were stocked and organized. Five Below is a really affordable place to find what you need on a budget.

Big glass storefront windows greet you and you feel it necessary, perhaps obligated to stop and just look up. Once inside, bang, right off the bat they've got a row of headless plastic mannequins standing on these step up squares and they're all dressed in cheap summer clothes for Some Summer Day Sale and they have a deal for you. They just stand there in a line looking completely sad and headless and thats hard to do, trying to trick people into thinking a cheap outfit is going to make them feel happy and look sheek and all for $9.99! If you come by at night in December, it's even weirder. They've got thesengiant white signs glowing in the dark, its the brightest lights around, they really are, I swear. And through the big city lit up lights, in display windows, you can see all these fake Christmas trees lined up in a row like The Ents of Fangorn. Inside, they have a huge room crammed floor-to-ceiling with twinkling holiday lights, shelves stacked high with shiny ornaments, and spinning things and addition this ridiculous green redvand white stuff. Speaking ofvred, theres acmassive red and gold throne sitting right in the middle of the wood floor like Santa Claus is supposed to drop by and hold court. But the best thing I found in the whole joint was hanging on a rack right in front of me. It was a black t-shirt with those two awesome cartoon morons, Beavis and Butt-head, flaming yellow letters, and the words "EVERYTHING SUCKS" printed right across the chest. If you want to know the truth, that shirt is about the only honest thing in the entire building. The whole place is just discount signs advertising gifts and outfits, plastic decorations, and racks of cheap clothes, soap and walking through it all just leaves me feeling sort of sad and tired. It really does.

A Shining Light at 5 Below - The Kindest Young Man I've Met!…read more I don't usually leave reviews, but after my recent visit to 5 Below, I felt absolutely compelled to share my experience. There was a young boy working there -- I wish I had gotten his name -- but he left such a strong impression on me that I couldn't go without writing this. In a world that can often feel rushed and impersonal, this boy stood out like a beacon of kindness, patience, and genuine warmth. From the moment I walked into the store, I noticed him. He greeted every single person who walked in with the most sincere smile -- not the forced, robotic kind, but the kind that made you feel like you mattered. That small gesture alone was refreshing, but it was just the beginning. As I browsed through the aisles, I had some trouble reaching something on a higher shelf, and without me even having to ask, he noticed and came over to assist. He was so polite and respectful, saying "Let me help you with that" in the gentlest voice. It wasn't just about being helpful -- it was the way he helped. He made me feel seen, valued, and never like a burden. A few minutes later, I noticed an elderly man struggling with his cart, and once again, this kind boy stepped in immediately -- with no hesitation and no need for recognition. He chatted with the man kindly, helped him sort through items, and even offered to walk him to the front to check out. You could see how much it meant to that gentleman. Honestly, it made me emotional just witnessing it. At the register, I watched him patiently help a younger child who had dropped some candy and was on the verge of tears. Instead of brushing it off, he knelt down, helped the child pick everything up, and even made a funny face to cheer them up. The child's tears turned to giggles in seconds. It was such a small moment, but it spoke volumes about his character. In every interaction, this boy radiated compassion. He wasn't just doing his job -- he was doing it with heart. He treated everyone with the same level of kindness and respect, whether it was a small child, a teen shopping with friends, or an elderly customer just browsing. That kind of character and empathy is rare, especially in someone so young. I hope this review reaches his manager, because this young man deserves every bit of recognition. He's not only a fantastic representative of the 5 Below brand -- he's the kind of person who makes the world a better place just by being in it. I left the store that day feeling lighter, simply because I had witnessed real, honest kindness. If every store had just one employee like him, shopping wouldn't just be about buying things -- it would be an experience of joy and connection. To the kind boy at 5 Below: thank you. Keep being you. The world needs more hearts like yours.

It is one of those rare, sprawling ecosystem-level malls where you can easily lose an entire day to the pavement and never once feel the itch of boredom. The structural face-lifts have been a massive win, transforming the space into a genuinely premium destination. They have a powerhouse gauntlet of anchor stores--Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus--flanked by a relentless selection of clothing boutiques and a Lego store that remains a pure, nostalgic trip. The food court is the gold standard in variety, standing as one of the best executions of the concept you'll find anywhere. But the real evolution hits in the summer, when the al fresco dining areas open up, offering an outdoor oasis amid the retail hustle. It gets crowded--of course it does--but with plenty of parking to absorb the madness, it remains an absolute favorite. Selection & Shopping (5/5): An elite tier of retail which runs seamlessly from accessible mid-range staples to high-end luxury. The movie theater upgrade is spectacular, a complete night-and-day transformation from what it used to be. Food & Dining for a mall (4.5/5): A massive cut above standard mall fare. The sheer volume of food options is impressive, and the outdoor al fresco spaces give it a vibrant, lively energy during the warmer months. Layout & Convenience (4.25/5): The modern renovations have aged beautifully, keeping the massive footprint easy on the eyes. Despite the heavy crowds, the abundance of parking means you aren't fighting a losing battle before you even get through the doors.

I covered every square inch of this place- from the North and South wings to the East and West wings, alone!! Company would have been nice! I love the huge food court, and it does wonders for every palate. So many stores; Bloomingdales, JC Penny, Macy's and several other small clothing stores provided slim opportunities and did not fulfill my needs. One would think that they can find any and everything at a mall, right? Not in my case. Had I been looking for something simple, I may have not spent hours inside of Roosevelt Field mall and I would have stopped at one store. Not to be misunderstood, Roosevelt Field mall is an ideal place to look for excellent finds and thousands of people score with what they are looking for and what they are not looking for. For me, it was a no hitter this time, but I did see awesome sales with great value for the dollar. I won't count them out; I will come on another day when I am just browsing.
