Came here looking for hair coloring for natural hair. Not only do they not have much selection for natural hair. It is a small section for hair care products for any hair type. Wow. Laura N (roomie!) had warned me about the reviews on this Target... I guess I didn't realize Yelpers were so high class (read: classist). Just because I saw someone being arrested in front of this target the first time I shopped here does not mean it is "ghetto." I'm not even sure what "fits the inner-city stereotype" means, or really how that level of social commentary applies to MY Target. Maybe I'm taking it all too personal. So Yelp just recommended that I write a review of the Cityplace Target - I guess because I have so many checkins there they thought I was doing you a disservice by not reviewing. Let me break it down for you. So yeah, this Target does get its fair share of random shoppers. Uptown yuppies, people from the wrong side of the tracks, random people that happened to be in the area, and everyone in between. I would agree that in the past the place has been atrociously maintained and the aisles looked like they let some little bratty kids run up and down with a baseball bat knocking everything out of place. That is, if you could even find what you were looking for in stock. However, I'd say in the past year or so I've noticed a definite improvement in the cleanliness of the place and also an improvement in stocking of shelves. They did a remodel a while back and they even have a pretty decent grocery section in there where you can pick up staple items so you don't have to go to the meet-market Albertsons. The clothes section now has a really good selection of cute outfits. And the best thing is that it was on the way home from work so it was easy to stop in. However, the staff still tend to be completely disinterested and rude but whatever. It is still Target and I love Target unconditionally. We will continue our love affair forever and ever. read more

I remember when you there was a possibility of getting shot at this Target...I mean its possible it could still happen, but you're more likely to be in the parking lot instead of inside the store. After the huge renovation they went through, I can totally stand to spend an hour or so in this humongous store. I love their huge clothing area next to the cafe, so all the clothes smell like food. Win. Huge electronic section, beauty section, household goods (i.e. cleaning, decor...etc). This store really does have everything and I think the layout is super easy! As with all Targets the outside aisles are food, beauty, electronics, cleaning...etc. The inside aisles are kids, decor, home goods...etc. I basically do a lap around the store and then work like a snake through the inside aisles. They also have a pharmacy and about 100 checkout lanes, but for some reason (and other Target stores are like this too) only about 6 are open? WTF? Why have all these lanes open if you only use about 1/3 of them. It's ridiculous. Anyjellies, they also have an amazing card section. Yes I'm that person laughing in the Hallmark section. The store is super clean and the people watching is eccentric. The employees (most of them) are knowledgeable and are really helpful when you are looking for something you've clearly already walked past. I mean, I always prefer Target in general, but when I go, this is my store. I feel like I should be drinking a beer....?!? read more

I've decided I'll start driving to the new Target that's ~5 miles away from me instead of going to this one, although it's located right by my house. I've never felt safe while shopping here. As the holiday season begins, it's only gotten worse. I've even encountered people that have literally asked me to buy them things (because they don't have any money, are living in their car, have X amount of kids, etc.) while I am shopping. I love Target... In fact, I haven't been to a Wal-mart in over a year! However, this particular Target has some pretty crappy customer service, is very often not stocked well, and the general feel of it is dirty. Maybe it's the neighborhood, or maybe it's the management, but it's just a bit "off." Either way, I'll definitely come back to this Target because it's convenient for me, but it's just average. This is just not the target experience I am used to. The product was just fine and as expected but when I went to try a dress on I feel like I was treated like a criminal. I had to hold items up one at a time to make sure I had counted correctly in order to get in and another production was made as I was leaving to make sure I came out with all items I went in with. Also, there were tissues on an end cap where the paper towels and toilet paper were but no other tissues other than some new brand. I'm here at least once a week spending money that I have no need to spend. Target is the devils pit. I don't know a girl who doesn't go in for one thing and come out with 10. Target overall has amazing products, cute home decor, office supplies covered in adorable panda throw up, and it's hello kitty madness control center (not a fan, but she wears pink, so yes) I would HIGHLY recommend coming before 12p.m. If you can make it before 10a.m. even better. The store is clean, the lines are short & parking isn't as crowded. I've shopped a little after 4 before and the store is a mess, it's hard to find specific products and lines are long, but the employees are speedy so you don't wait in line that long. Also, there's a high school somewhere near by so after 4 it seems to be a hangout spot so it adds on to the crowdedness. read more

I wish I could give this store more stars because it's a nice target. But the grocery just shouldn't exist. I went to buy stuff for turkey burgers and zucchini dish. And a salad. They didn't have ground turkey. No zucchini. Like two of the items I wanted for the salad. Maybe it's just the fresh produce section but it's awful. As with most stores in this chain, this Target carries a huge variety of reasonably-priced items. I often go in looking for one thing and leave with several things. The service here is helpful and efficient too. As soon as checkout lines start getting too long, they begin opening new registers to help move the lines along. I appreciate this as a busy customer. My major complaint with this Target is that they're constantly OUT OF STOCK on various items. Items could remain unstocked for weeks at a time... I just don't understand. I've also been a customer of the Target pharmacy for a number of years. My previous pharmacy was the Walmart pharmacy (HELL), so I thought the Target pharmacy was a dream when I first switched over. In the past several months, however, there have been a number of hiccups that have made me less than happy. For instance, their seeming practice of registering new prescriptions for automatic refills without telling me. There was also an occasion or two when a prescription I had filled was not ready for pick up when I arrived according to schedule. Then there are the times when they just look understaffed and I have to wait long for a simple pickup. Anyway, this is a pretty decent Target all in all. Could be better, but good enough. read more

This Target kinda sucks. I feel like they're always lightly stocked / out of stock / don't carry things that I'm looking for whenever I head in here. Frozen pineapple I think is a pretty standard item in a frozen section but not here. I've never had a store be so anal about counting and charging me for plastic bags before. The cops have come up and asked me to immediately move my truck out of the way when I was parked in a loading zone and actively loading a HEAPED shopping cart into my truck.....I thought that's what a loading zone was for. It just random little things like that that make this location irritating to me. Other than that, it's a run of the mill Target, and I'll keep going back because of its proximity to my apartment........being in a captive market is not favorable for the consumers at this location. read more

This location is similar to any other Target location. The interior of the store is kept fairly clean and organized. You can always find what you are looking for. I can spend an hour or two in here easy. I rate this location fairly low because of safety. There are always individuals loitering in the parking lot asking for money or asking if you want to purchase (insert item, product, candy, or donate to...here). I stopped going for a few months due to an assault that occurred here. I went in last night to purchase some needed items and it was the only store open other than Walmart. I noticed there is police presence inside the store which was comforting. I will always love Target, so glad to see a proactive approach toward attempting to prevent future crime(s). read more

This target has a clientele reminiscent of a Walmart at the wee hours of the night. Even with that burden, this store is kept pretty clean. This location also has a great selection of sizes in women's clothing. There aren't a bunch of smalls or only mediums, etc. They usually have at least one of each size. The employees have always been courteous, especially in the electronics department and fitting rooms. I really wish it had a Starbucks in it but this is one of the locations that only has the old school target food court in the front. read more

This is the worst target I've ever been to. Very small selection in groceries. Who doesn't have real popcorn? It was all microwave only. But I was in line behind Andre 3000 and enjoyed seeing the young lady checking him out absolutely lose her mind and not remember how to function as a human being. Definitely a mix of good and bad. Plenty of parking. Clean store. Good selection. Give yourself time to browse, and you'll find tons of great stuff. Convenient to I-75 and downtown. It's a busy busy store. Inventory can have some holes, depending on what's popular. There's usually a line for customer service, but it tends to move quickly. I returned about 30 items that I mistakenly ordered online and was impressed at how efficiently my return was handled. If you go on Saturday with the rest of Dallas, it's crazy. Yes, you can whine about the long lines, the lack of carts/baskets, and the long walk to your car. Or, you can learn and avoid Saturdays. The CVS staff is nice, but the inventory is non-existent. I don't know what they do have, but I've tried twice to get a prescription and left without it. Target typically is located in more affluent neighborhoods than this. Yeah, a ridiculously crazy crime occurred where two guys attacked a guy in the parking lot in Jan. 2017. Whether that is Target's fault will be litigated, I'm sure. Whether you want that event to determine where you shop is a personal decision. read more

The optimist in me wants you to know that this Target gets the job done! The parking situation leaves a lot to be desired, but the store itself has just your basics: cool (but limited) dollar section (that randos walk through walk I'm thoroughly browsing, how rude lol), newly-renovated beauty area, and a plethora of clothes to choose from (can someone plz organize the women's plus clearance section tho? I can never find anything.) As you've probably read on the other reviews, customer service isn't a huge priority, but since I usually buy a few items...I try not to sweat over the cashier's lack of friendliness. I have stopped here a few times when I was in the area. It is convenient to have a Target close to the downtown area. It is not a Super Target, which I prefer, but if you have basics that you need, then you should be able to find it. There are a lot of people wandering the parking lot asking for money, so make sure to exercise caution with yourself and your car. I have a love/hate relationship with this Tarzhay. I love that it is super close to me - so much so that I can walk or drive in almost the same amount of time from uptown. That said, this is pretty Ghetto, which makes for some fun and interesting people watching and in-store experiences. In my most recent one, the woman in front of us at checkout was about to leave when her bracelet broke. She was too, um, big, to pick up the pieces so we helped her, and then she (inadvertently?) left with one of our bags. Thankfully, security tapes confirmed this and we were able to get a replacement and credit on items that we got the last item of. Which leads to one of my 'hates' with this target: Out of stocks or minimal amounts of things is very common at this location. And staff don't seem to have a clue or give a flying **** as to whether they have any in the back, or when replacements come in. Other hilarious/scary things I've seen at this location: someone's car being broken into (and telling security, who simply peeked out into the lot), a woman dragging her son by the arm, threatening to "smack the black off him!" (wtf!?), and a mother changing her child's diaper ON THE FLOOR. And I almost always get asked by someone for money on the way in. What is it with all these people in Dallas that "just ran out of gas - can you help me out?" Others have noted parking is difficult. I don't find that to be the case. The lot is huge, so you may have to walk 200 feet. Big deal. People in Dallas like to walk less than they do in LA it seems :) For quick, everyday items it serves its purpose, but it's selection of the things I typically love about Target this one misses the mark. Overall, I'd probably give it 2.5 stars. read more

If you love long lines, screaming babies, and door dings, this Target is for you! It is convenient if you're close to uptown and need a quick household item, but otherwise it's definitely not a great target location. TIP: if you're female, I would highly recommend not going at night by yourself (along with the wal-mart across the street). And I'm not skittish about these things- I've lived in NYC for two years now. (I'm from Dallas.) Also, make sure to not go on weekdays from 4-6pm. The mix of kids that just got out of school/soccer and professionals makes for a real-life hunger games. read more

This is a slightly better than average Target, so it gets 4 stars. It's our go-to Target when we go shopping for general sundries that we don't get at Costco for whatever various reason. They have a decent cafe if you are just really needing a snack (Pizza Hut and such). Free WiFi for the bored members of the family that came along. The store is overall quite clean, stocked, and the restrooms are clean. Service is typical of a Target - so nothing special but still good. The only thing I really don't like about this Target is the abysmally limited Plus-Size Women's section in clothing. It really is so pathetic I have no idea why they even bother. read more

Wine buyers beware! Today was the third instance where I purchased over six bottles and didn't get the advertised 10% off. When I complained to Kendra at customer service, her only comment was that I checked out through s sales floor team member who didn't know the policy. If She is checking out customers, why doesn't she know the policy! Also this isn't 1975, isn't their software system sophisticated enough to link the six bottles together and automatically give you the discount- like every other retailer on earth. Kendra had an "I don't care attitude" and offered no apology and sent me on my way. What's happened to Target! #poor_customer_service_again read more

I like this Target. It's the kind of place where you go in for one or two things and end up finding three or four more things you didn't know you needed, for a pretty reasonable price. Whenever I visit it's always clean and well-organized, it's easy to find what I need, and I've never waited very long in line. They have decent selections of home goods and office supplies, which is mostly what I come here for, but I also have purchased camping gear and clothes and even the odd grocery item. There's a huge parking lot so it's never hard to find parking, and it's conveniently close to the Uptown area. You can buy something online and pick it up in the store the same day, which I appreciate. It's a good Target, it's a good shopping experience, there's no reason not to shop here. read more

I am DONE with this Target. CVS personell would not allow me to use the Family bathroom, because " We do not have a key." This to a Mom who is obviously pregnant with two kids in tow and a buggy full of merchandise. I left the buggy and dragged everyone to the front of the store to potty. When I came back there was a couple coming out of the Family bathroom. When I asked them who let them in they told me that lady, at the CVS. I could not contain my anger and went back to the CVS lady and told her, " Inconvienece is not the same thing as Policy." Called and talked to store leadership team. They apologized profusely and promissed to handle this situation going forward. It's a big stink, but I am their target audience. God forbid this happen to someone else. read more

Worst ever. If you consider ordering photos online from Shutterfly or other online resources to have printed here. DO NOT. The "one hour" print guarantee is false. Just went in to pick up my photos which was actually 2 days later. And they just said "oh the machine is broken". Common sense for a business owner would be to not have the option to pick up photos at this location is your machine is broken. I asked when it would be fixed...."ummm we don't know". Great answer. First of all, our first order wasn't completed because the item began running low, and I had to order another item to replace it. When we finally arrived, staff wouldn't let me in for an order pickup at the last minute. I used to work retail, and I get not letting customers in last minute if the store was closing, but at my stores if the customer already knew what they wanted or was just picking up , we still let them in because it doesn't take too long. CUSTOMER FIRST. It wasn't even our fault we were late. The prior place that we were at delayed us by half an hour, which is why we weren't able to make it in earlier. Staff should really be more understanding of these situatuons. We were trying to pick up an air mattress for our guests who decided to crash last minute for the night, and we needed them today. Too bad we couldn't get it. Like dude really? It takes like 3 MINUTES for an order pickup. We already paid for the item. All we have to do is get it and leave. It wasn't even 10:00 when we arrived! Customers should come first. Also, I know closing the store takes at least another 30 minutes of cleaning up and closing the registers. Is a 3 minute order pickup really that much of an inconvenience? Talk about unaccommodating. Super unsatisfied and disappounted since we really needed this today. read more

Very annoying considering one was a higher ticket item where the lower [correct] price wasn't honored - I had to return it and get something else comparable.
