pros...very nice target out in eastlake area. still nice and clean and pretty well stocked. the customer service is still pretty good as well. you often will have the not-so-busy workers asking if you need help or not. and if you ring the little button which calls a worker, someone actually comes within a minute or two. as target's go, this one doesn't have a whole lot of red tag sale items...cause i'm all about the sale items. but it is pretty well stocked with the essentials. candy ailes stocked, wife's cosmetics aisles, stocked, computer games, stocked, electronics, stocked. they even have a gardening section, which is nice. cons...well just too many little children running around unattended here. parents you know who you are, keep an eye on them. they are usually the pre-teen ones, who think it might be funny to run into the person in front of them with a cart, several times. parents keep track of your brood/offspring, and reprimand them accordingly. or perhaps someone else will, and not to your liking either. happened to me, kid kept hitting my ankle with the front of the cart. perhaps he sees the scar from my busted achillies tendon? did it once, no problem, i laugh. happened twice, i say ouch and now i'm getting annoyed, and move out the way, but he stays put, looking at some nintendo game. then the third time, where i let him have it..i ram the cart with my butt, where the handle proceeds to smack the kid right in the chest "HARD" with a hollow thudding sound! then after he recovers i give him an angry stare. now it's my turn to have some fun. now the hunted becomes the hunter. now i follow this kid all around the store. he is in a panic, he is desperately trying to find his parents. everywhere he goes, i follow, with my angry stare! he tries to play it off, OH but he's scared! some angry bald, fat faced asian guy is hunting him down throughout the whole target store! then i start whistling the theme to "kill bill" and follow this punk assed kid, he is pretty much running around the store with the cart. ducking here and there, still looking for his parents. hahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha! he never finds them, he just leaves the store! he heads for the office depot next door, how do i know, cause i followed him. he sees me out of the corner of his eye, where i can see he is real scared, sweat and tears running down his cheek. now i stop and i just laugh at him. i continue shopping. i would have loved to talk to his parents. read more

Several times I come here to order pick up or return, they never fail to get on my nerves. They are very disorganized and always gets stumped with customer questions, which causes the lines to be long. The agents/crew on the customer service counter always have different knowledge on certain return process prompting them to defer to the manager. To make it more confusing 2 or more crew would butt in one transaction making other customers wait longer. Today i did an order pickup and since i was already being taken care of I told the agent i also had a return. After giving me the pick up order she went ahead and took care of an item that one of their co-worker asked her about. I waited... she came back to the counter and attended to another customer. I asked who will take care of my return, she said "well you are in line right" uh duh?!? You werent finished with my transactions. So annoying. It wouldve been fine if its only one time. But this seems to happen a lot at this store. read more

I ask Vanessa to help me she drop what she was doing looked it up and told me they had some in the back she took my cart and went back and got it for me. It is about 5 min from my house and I go here frequently. Reasons to go: 1) Convenience. Located in a shopping center with plenty of other places to pick up dinner on the way home after your grocery shopping. 2) Service. Most of the time you will be the recipient of 'Target-friendly employees'. This is not a myth. Even if they are bad at their job, they are still friendly and will carry on a conversation with you like you are a real person. 3) Prices. Some grocery items (like milk and Ben & Jerry's) go a dollar or two under the nearby grocery store which basically pays for your gas to make the trip. Their electronic section is comparable in some items with Wal-Mart and the Navy Exchange. 4) Quality. My wife has a food allergy. Target grocery sells many brands that are organic and you don't have to pay Trader Joe prices. 5) Clean. For the most part the condition of the store is swept, products are faced properly, and there is no weird smell of 2-day old sour milk that little Bobby forgot to mop up. Reasons to avoid: 1) Lines. You WILL wait in line pretty much any time of day or night. The only time I have not waited in line at this location was when I was lucky enough to arrive at the check-outs about the time a new register opened up. 2) Prices. Double-edged sword. Some things like the items mentioned in #3 above are worth the trip. Other prices on frequently purchased products (like breakfast cereal) are better purchased at Albertson's or Wal-Mart. If you are like me and do not have time to do your shopping in 3 trips to 3 different stores, then you cut your losses and know that your getting screwed by buying Mini Wheats. 3) Traffic. I use the exit near the gas station. It is not simply waiting in line traffic, it's hurry up or we're gonna die traffic. Dangerous with a low chance of fender benders during peak times (4-6pm). For this reason, I park on the other side of the establishment in front of the office supply store. read more

I love this Target. Sometimes they do run out of some of the things that I buy here and they take long to restock. But in general it's always an okay experience, except for this last time I went. I was shopping and I left my reusable bags in a cart while I went check out some clothes. An employee took my cart, maybe thinking it was a left behind cart. I came looking for my cart with my bags right away. I asked other employees to help me locate them, and they avoided me as much as they could until I had to get intense so they would help me. They offered me some plastic bags without understanding I wanted my bags. And made me wait forever in costume service to give me some reusable bags to replace my bags, when I could had been and out of there while they lagged with that. I actually ended up walking out without them, because I waited 20mins. Not to mention my bags were actually special knitted Mexican bags, and I had to ask them to take my information if they found them, instead of them asking to take my information down. read more

Not a huge Target, but god I love this place. All the things you need like Walmart, but about a million times better! I would spend all day here if i could. It's clean, customer service is good, organized and i always find something cute for my little girl. I would recommend shopping on the days they have specials for toys and kids clothes. I love their popcorn so I ask the woman if she was going to make a fresh batch but she said no she wanted to sell me the scraps and she said not until that was finished that she'd make more.. I mean come on I'm paying for the popcorn you're not. I always ask for fresh and it's always the women that will not make fresh. I hear that the employees at the cafe make 2$ more that the rest of the employees so why can't you just serve your customers and earn those extra 2$ shame on you. read more

I love going to Target. When you first walk in the smell of popcorn lingers through the air. The washrooms are always clean and stocked. The employees are always around to help. The best thing about this target is it is CLEAN!!!!! I specifically shop at this location because of it's cleanliness. They have clearance sections everywhere which is my favorite section to shop. I like how this target isn't so crowded and carries a decent amount of groceries. I had to run errands within the area and instead of trekking down to the big Wally World (although it's the only location I like) in eastlake I came here. Picked up some groceries and paid for my items in a reasonable amount of time. As an added bonus most of what I needed had cartwheel discounts so the trip to me was worth it. This is a review for the clothing department. I went here today around 11am and wanted to try a few things on and the grumpy older mexican lady with brown hair and glasses was extremely rude. She just stood there and looked at me and than told me to go ahead and try my stuff on and than she told me to wait and come back so she can count the 3 items I had. Okay? Lol. After trying on my stuff there was one jacket I didn't want and when I told her she snatched it out my hand and threw it in one her carts. I asked her if she was having a bad day. Today was my second awful experience at this Target. I have to wonder if they care about customer service at all. This is the second time in a row I have unloaded all of my groceries at the checkout and stood in line for 5-10 minutes only to be told the register is closing. This time there were 3 people in line behind me. I asked the cashier why she couldn't have told me she was closing 10 minutes ago when I began unloading my cart and all she said was "well I couldn't see you". She hadn't turned off the light on her checkout stand either (which is why I had gone to that register in the first place). I had to then reload my cart (she didn't offer to help at all) and wait in another line with my fussy 2 month old in his carrier. As I mentioned before, this was not the first time this has happened to me. This Target really needs to train their employees in quality customer service. read more

This is a terrible place to shop. The Target at 910 Eastlake Parkway, Chula Vista CA. On February 18th I went to this store and did some shopping. I parked in the handicapped section that was empty of cars. While coming out of the store I could see a cart person across the parking lot bringing carts to the store. I put my items in my car on the passenger side and set my cart about 10 feet from my car and got into the driver side. The cart person came up moving a line of cart which he parked about 25 feet away from my car. For some reason, the cart pusher left a cart pushing machine behind the drivers side of the car, just abandoning it, and moved the carts 30 feet away. Because of where it was placed, there was no way to see the cart pusher because my cars back end is higher than the cart pushing machine. I backed into the cart pushing machine and did serious damage to my Cadillac CTS. The cart pusher, who is either a Mexican National, but was likely mentally retarded (gifted) could not speak to me in English. He ran off. My complaints are about the store management, a Johnet Johnston to start. These managers do not give a damn about you or your person property. Their attitude is callous and deliberately indifferent to their negligence. These people should be ashamed of themselves. They hire uneducated people, the cheapest they can find, they do not train them, and you are entering the property is at your own risk. I read on the target web site that they are big on corporate responsibility. Well. That is a lie. I have been lied to by everyone I have talked to regarding this matter. I now I will take them to court, and publicize the scumbag behaviors of the management at the Target Corporation. I guess I should be happy that I wasn't personally hurt because these people don't care about you. They just want your money. You would think when a parking lot is empty, they would not leave this 1000 lbs machine behind and out of view of a vehicle drivers view. That's shows the lack of training, and that the people hire are not competent to do even simple tasks. Who would leave a machine like that unattended when the cart pusher knows the driver is leaving (he's collecting their cart), the car potentially a $50,000 to $70,000. read more

There are people on Yelp writing reviews about a Target. A Target. Variation in design and service is not a hallmark of chain stores, and I can't imagine this Target will differ from other Targets I have visited. That's the entire point of centralized branding and buttoned up operations; consistency, familiarity, brand recognition. A trip to this Target should force me to purchase a bag of popcorn from its embedded Pizza Hit express - mind you that this occurs before shopping, mysteriously compel me to explore the electronics aisles with no purpose, allow me to deliberate the credibility of mint chip ice cream (there are plenty of better options), and place me in a moral struggle to restrain myself from pickpocketing that Chapstick (it's so obtainable.. so simple). I mean, it's a Target, plain and simple. So, 4/5, because out of 5 Targets I will visit, 4 will meet my rote-enforced expectations. And one will feel like a Walmart. read more

This target photo department sucks big time! I had put in my order for one 8'10 photo for my son that he needed for his school project. I put the order in at 5pm and my son went to pick it up around 10 pm before closing and the picture was not developed! I was furious because this was a one hour photo and to top it off they sent us an email confirming that the photo was ready for pick up but when my son went to pick it up, it wasn't even processed or ready! WTF?! I rate this place a ZERO if it was up to me but I guess Yelp requires us to put at least 1 star... Lol read more

This is my favorite Target and the closest to me. It gets the job done. My biggest complaint is the lack of clothing selection and the slow, sometimes crowded checkout lanes. I almost dread checking out bc its a pain. I moved here from Chicago suburbs and I have to say all the Targets I've been to in CA suck compared to the targets in IL. In IL the store layout is a little different and flows better. They offer a lot more clothes especially the special designer edition clothes. There are bigger entrances, 2 of them usually, that make traffic and checking out flow better. read more

I was so happy to skip the long lines and walked over to the food court. I love target, it's located centrally. But the prices are higher than Walmart and there isn't as big as a selection either. I love target for accessories, swimsuits and household items. Target has a boutique-is feel in a superstore environment. Target is much less crowded than Walmart and much cleaner also. But i only go here if i need a couple of specific things or if i'm looking for cute household stuff. But for my big shopping trips i rather just go to Walmart where i KNOW i won't have to make an extra trip to another store for the few items target didn't have. Although i wish the parking lot wasn't so difficult to get into and they would have more cashiers open. I was end up stuck behind someone with a cart full of things for 5 items. read more

Today is May/8/2021. I went to the eastlake target in chula vista tonight. i went to the self checkout line and there was one register open. There was another customer and myself who went to the self checkout. He got there right before me and i waited for a couple of minutes patiently. There was 20 minutes until closing time i just had one item. Suddenly a female worker at the self checkout line told me the guy in front of me was the last customer that i had to get in another line. She said he was the last customer well she never said that before because we practically got there at the same time. I showed her my cane because the other lines were long and after standing there for two minutes she suddenly tells me to go in another line. when i showed her my cane she just shrugged her shoulders. i put the item down and walked out. I use to work at Walmart years ago back in the late 80's it was my first job before i joined the military. i can tell you this if i ever would have treated a customer like that i would have been fired on the spot. i was so disgusted that i wanted to talk to a manager but then i remembered we are in different times where customer service has just become an ancient art. There is very little kindness anywhere you go to. My mistake for going there tonight. I just wanted some crackers instead i had this person that should not be working at target maybe TSA would be good for her where treating people like crap there is all too common. read more

Chris (one of the managers) is really nice. He's the only reason I go back to this location. I like Target, but I'm sick of all the homosexual symbols on the employees shirts. Add that to the fact they let men use women's bathrooms if they "feel" female that particular day. Imagine a pedophile in the bathroom when you send your little girl in there to use the toilet!!
