With so many other stores in this mall... I'm switching from Target. I drove to the Gateway store to pick up a game their website said they had 4 of. I had tried calling, repeatedly, but no department picked up the phone. When I got there, no one could be bothered to help me do anything more than tell me they didn't have it. So about 2 weeks ago, I commented about Starbucks in Target at 519 Gateway Drive, in Brooklyn, NY about the lack of seating for Customers to enjoy their coffee or food and still there are only 3 tables and a total of 3 chairs which is 1 chair per table. Spent more time trying to contact an associate to jail break the items I needed. Is this the new normal? If so I guess I better get with the program. But... uuugh target. It was disappointing, a lot of items especially vegan friendly were either not available at all or very low stock. There was not a great selection in produce and what was available had damage or was getting old. The bread I got had hidden mold it wasn't apparent at first grab. I also had an item that was two months expired which should not have been on the shelf. Unfortunately I ate some and could taste it was off right away. Not feeling great and wasted money. Coming to this location can be a hit-or-miss. Sometimes they have really great things in stock but you have to get here early. I made the grave mistake of coming at 3:45 to pick up my curbside order. It seems that the folks that are executing these deliveries have no idea how this system works. The guy took my order to another car that looks nothing like mine, in a different number spot and didn't even get the right approval code number and gave away my entire order of roughly $50. I'm furious! The only consolation I was offered thus far is to cancel my order as if it was some error on my end and was given a $20 gift card. Will i use this service again? I think not. Will I shop here again? I doubt it very seriously. read more

This Target at the Gateway Shopping Center is in the process of renovating part of the store. Starbucks store is temporarily closed. Some items like makeup are on temporary shelving. Overall the renovation process is proceeding very well without any major disruption. There is an abundance of self-checkouts stations and no lines whatsoever. I work next to this Target location (my job is at the Home Depot). I sometimes go there after/before work for food, clothing, etc. The staff is friendly and always helps me get done what I need. The female security guard at the front of the store and the lot worker Phinn are notable for a good attitude and work ethic. I will definitely continue to shop here in the future read more

My daughter and I was there yesterday to buy a microwave, we were standing looking at the microwave then one of the employee came down the aisle and in a rude and insulting way ask us to move out of her way, then when I said "excuse me" she curse and laughed at us and walk away. I then try to report the incident to the manager, and she acted as if the behavior of the employee was normal and walked away. no apology was received from the employee or the manager for the rude an insulting behavior towards us. This Target has gone through a few renovations in the years that I have been shopping here, always for the better!! They sell everything imaginable now from anything from Music furniture linens things for your kitchen your bath candy parties movies and clothes for men women and children. You can also decorate your house from A-to-Z in Target. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable and the store is very clean! giving it a two star due to my experience with Kiana (one of the cashiers). baby girl had the AUDACITY to give me a attitude just because i 'LOOKED' (not vocally saying anything) at her due to HOW she instructed me to socially distance from the customer before me. the manager was sending customers two at a time to the registers for checkup. This target is beyond disgusting. The way the employees treat customers is beyond insulting. Your front desk manager is unhelpful and a liar. I placed an order for pickup and they stated it was ready for pick up. I missed a good 1hr+ of my daughters birthday party because her nasty attitude and incompetence. As for the sales floor manager, who came fake resolve the situation by telling me I was wrong for placing the order despite it being the services offered. I have encountered him on different occasions and it's continuously the same lies when need immediate managerial assistance. You're literally paying people to be in charge who are ineffectively treating customers worse than the regular sales employees. I asked for assistance while in the store and the employee hiding in the children's section let me know this is not their section, they are just hiding to text. How exactly are your recruiters hiring these people? Are they testing them on both hard and soft skills? Are they trained on customer service? I went on Sunday, fully expecting things out of stock and limited register staffing. Honestly in this day and age my expectations are low at any retail establishment. I'm happy if I can find the majority of what I need and can get in and out relatively quickly. There is something majorly off with the customer service and team member attitudes at this location. Most workers I saw on the floor were on their phones carrying on conversations and in one case FaceTiming with someone. One was standing in the kids toy section just staring into her phone scrolling away, and a supervisor? came up to her asking her to do some task. I'm not even kidding when I say she didn't even look up from her phone. Did not make eye contact with the person speaking to her. Never even answered him vocally. Last I heard he was asking her if it would 'help' if he asked someone else to do the task with her. Wild... Another was in the handbag section FaceTiming away right next to the checkout line. Apparently she was being paged to open a register (only 2 were open at one point with the line at a standstill for 10 minutes) but stayed put until another worker walked up to her to get her. Those are just two of the instances that really stood out. I felt like every time I turned a major corner with my cart I had to look carefully so I didn't crash into a worker who was distracted on their phone. That being said, shelves were really bare in areas. Frozen, dairy, produce, pantry, paper goods.... I'm sure some of that stuff was in the back and just needed to be stocked. I've been going to this location for awhile. My mom recent visit last week showed some changes. The store is under renovation now. New floors and ceilings. When you enter the shopping carts are still in the front. On the left are cards and the house related items. Along the back walls are the clearance items. Towards the middle are the clothes, baby items, etc. And to the right you can find food, cleaning items, toiletries and the pharmacy. The shelves were pretty well stocked this visit. They created several self check out counters. I'm assuming to help people get out of the store faster especially if you're only purchasing a few items. The Starbucks and eating area are still there, the return area and restrooms are still in the front. I think the employees could make more effort to be of assistance. When speaking with one on the floor and asking about checkout she made a very nasty statement once I said thank you and turned my back. I ignored her, but should have asked for her name and title to report her behavior to corporate. In addition, this store closed more than half of their self-checkout options and only 2 cashiers. The worst target in the world. The customer service is horrible. Management is horrible. I waited over 50mins for a drive up order that NEVER came. I called the store 35 minutes into my wait and spoke to a manager whom said she was sending someone out with my order in a minute; 10 minutes later and it never came! I called again & asked for the managers name they refused to give it to me. I reported them to corporate. Every time I do a drive up order it's always something with these people. They make us click out of our order and start over which makes it look like we weren't waiting as long as we were because it generated a new order number for them. Stay away from this target. A young woman with pinkish hair was joking around not doing her job with two other staff members and since she was not paying attention rammed her large, heavy cart into me. There is one nice guy though who works at the self check out, he is nice and deserves a fucking raise for putting up with this bullshit. If I am in the area, I would come to this Target if I really needed to. The prices here are really off compared to the Valley Stream location. I have no idea why. I get my Essie nail polish from Target and Walmart for $8.50. This location sells them for $9.89?! I don't get it? Some of my other products that I usually get from Target are overpriced as well. Oh my God .. this is insane . I was at Target Gateway mall with Tony, waiting on line. I cleared my throat and the cashier on the opposite side.. mind you her back towards me.. makes a couple of sounds like "mhmmm mhmmm mhmm" Tony then ask her if she was okay. She turns around and said no... adding "You shouldn't be here coughing ". We were in shockTony then tells her if she's so concern then perhaps she shouldn't be working in a place that services so many people. She then tells me that I'm lucky she didn't spray meOKAY then that's when everything changes and I of course I went bananas ?? Would have loved to see that happen. But wait it gets more interesting now she has other consumers believing she right and I'm wrong for coughing.. mind you I covered my mouth .. end of story is security took us away from the uncomfortable situation.. we spoke to the manager and requested "Corporate" number with the individual name. Made an official complaint .. and it will not end there . Monday I will contact elective officials to talk about the situation and perhaps Businesses need to train the employees on how to handle the situation and be sensitive to people hello we're still in allergy season people so coughing and clearing your throat is normal.. I've been shopping at this Target location since 2011. It's one level and has the basic Starbucks, cafe, pharmacy stuff you'd expect to see. I like coming here because it's clean, the aisles are pretty wide and it's usually well stocked. I've never had any problems with associates here and the cashiers are usually good about getting the lines down when they build up. Also they always have lots of registers open, especially on high traffic days. The prices are pretty much in line with the other location I tend to frequent and it's super convenient for me to come here with my toddler and do the rest of our shopping at the two supermarkets located in the outdoor mall. Unless something serious happens, I will continue to shop here. read more

This is the second occasion I went to this particular Target and the dog food in the pet section was open and spoiling on the shelves. The first time the food was 2 years past the expiration date, the seals were broken, and there were bugs and maggots crawling out of the container. Do NOT buy dog food from here. However, if you're feeling adventurous and willing to gamble your pet's life PLEASE check the food first. Note: I brought this to the attention of the manager and my concerns were brushed off; she blamed the mishap on the store being busy and customers carelessly handling the merchandise. Even if this were true, one would think it takes more than a day for food to spoil and stink up and entire aisle of a store and that the store gets restocked daily and SOMEONE would see it... but what do I know. -shrug read more

This gateway store is conveniently located for me, and it's great having a go to store that opens so early in the morning. Target has made a few needed renovations and all for the good. Like the brand it has become, they have always sold anything one needed to make a shopping experience complete.....including groceries. That's what makes it Target. The one thing I have noticed and confirmed with others is that the quality of their women's clothing is not as good as it use to be. This store is managed well and it is clean and well taken care of. The employees are pleasant and knowledgeable. This Target definitely is one of my favorites. Went to this Target simply because we were in the area. It was the Veterans day weekend and they had some sales going on. Boy it was a chaos as soon as we got in. Hardly any shopping cart available and i had to grab an empty one after looking through from one aisle to another. For some reason this Target has an unusual layout so if you want to find some specific things you might have to ask the staff. Now about the staff, i encountered one who gave me the "you're so dumb" look when i asked for lip balm. Well, if the store is organized then i won't have difficulties finding it.
