By far the worst experience with a doctors office. My father needs a certain diabetes medication…read morethat he has been on for years, his insurance said they would cover it if they received a prior authorization from the Dr. Silverman. Instead of contacting the insurance company to find out out the generic medicine they would cover, they left it to us to call. Leaving him with no refills left, his sugar levels are very high at this point that he has to pay out of pocket for the medication. We finally find out from the insurance company they can keep him on the same medication that he has been on for years, if they receive the prior authorization. However Dr. Silverman instead of doing that decides he should just go with generic medicine Which we have now come to find out it has not been controlling his sugar levels. We have asked her to send the prior authorization in order to file a claim for out of pocket expenses. However the office says she is too busy to call it in and will only accept a fax. I have asked for them to retrieve the fax from their Bloomfield office Which is the number Caremark has but to No avail. It has been two months now, they said they will only accept a fax to the South Windsor office, Which is not in Caremarks system. Just going in circles at this point, when all she needs to do is take one minute to call the prior authorization line. She has now put him on another medication that is not controlling his sugar levels, she just seems to be playing around with medications instead of putting him on the medication that has worked for years. Stay away from this place, horrible experience!

He sees Dr. E. every three months, and last time my Dad timed the total amt. of time Dr. E spent with him at 7 mins. for a 15 min. appt. My father is 88 yrs. old, and is in terrible pain somedays. When Dad told the good doctor this, he replied" Well, at ur age u are going to have some pain." NOTHING further about what kind of pain, where it was, etc. This Dr. seems to constantly reply to questions dismissively, so he doesn't have to do any real work. And as stated above, he only reads the blood work, then runs to the next appt. My Dad also has Alzheimer's, but Dr. Ettinger of course hasn't picked up on that- how can he if only sees a patient for 7 mins? I could go on, but u catch my drift. I'm switching his "doctor" tomorrow, so my Dad can get some real care. Now I can look myself in the mirror....

I have a night guard, but never use it because it makes me clench more and I wake up with an aching jaw muscle. I have had broken teeth and broken crowns because I clench and grind while I'm sleeping. I was waking up with a headache almost every morning. Within a week of having Botox in my jaw muscles, my morning headaches were gone. I wish I had learned about this years ago because it would have saved me a bundle on dental work.
