By far the worst experience with a doctors office. My father needs a certain diabetes medication…read morethat he has been on for years, his insurance said they would cover it if they received a prior authorization from the Dr. Silverman. Instead of contacting the insurance company to find out out the generic medicine they would cover, they left it to us to call. Leaving him with no refills left, his sugar levels are very high at this point that he has to pay out of pocket for the medication. We finally find out from the insurance company they can keep him on the same medication that he has been on for years, if they receive the prior authorization. However Dr. Silverman instead of doing that decides he should just go with generic medicine Which we have now come to find out it has not been controlling his sugar levels. We have asked her to send the prior authorization in order to file a claim for out of pocket expenses. However the office says she is too busy to call it in and will only accept a fax. I have asked for them to retrieve the fax from their Bloomfield office Which is the number Caremark has but to No avail. It has been two months now, they said they will only accept a fax to the South Windsor office, Which is not in Caremarks system. Just going in circles at this point, when all she needs to do is take one minute to call the prior authorization line. She has now put him on another medication that is not controlling his sugar levels, she just seems to be playing around with medications instead of putting him on the medication that has worked for years. Stay away from this place, horrible experience!

(example, i came in and said "i read about this diagnosis, and i thought maybe this was connected to these symptoms" even though it is rare and usually affects people twice my age she sent me to the right specialist, i didnt even tell the specialist my ideas, i ended up being right and being diagnosed with it. she was the 4rth doctor i had seen across 2 years regarding my issues, and the only one who got it right! )

I have always hated going to doctors and would put it off as long as possible, but Dr. Holmes made me feel totally comfortable. She is very personable and spends time with each patient without rushing. She takes the time to answer any questions you might have, and I never feel rushed. She explains everything in easy-to-understand terminology, without talking down to you like you're a child. She is very knowledgeable in all fields and explains the options and tells you what she thinks is the best option for you, without "telling you" what you "have to do".
