By far the worst experience with a doctors office. My father needs a certain diabetes medication that he has been on for years, his insurance said they would cover it if they received a prior authorization from the Dr. Silverman. Instead of contacting the insurance company to find out out the generic medicine they would cover, they left it to us to call. Leaving him with no refills left, his sugar levels are very high at this point that he has to pay out of pocket for the medication. We finally find out from the insurance company they can keep him on the same medication that he has been on for years, if they receive the prior authorization. However Dr. Silverman instead of doing that decides he should just go with generic medicine Which we have now come to find out it has not been controlling his sugar levels. We have asked her to send the prior authorization in order to file a claim for out of pocket expenses. However the office says she is too busy to call it in and will only accept a fax. I have asked for them to retrieve the fax from their Bloomfield office Which is the number Caremark has but to No avail. It has been two months now, they said they will only accept a fax to the South Windsor office, Which is not in Caremarks system. Just going in circles at this point, when all she needs to do is take one minute to call the prior authorization line. She has now put him on another medication that is not controlling his sugar levels, she just seems to be playing around with medications instead of putting him on the medication that has worked for years. Worse doctor out there. Total quack. All she tells people is too loose weight. Ain't that the pot calling the kettle black. Sends you for unnecessary test, never calls with results, only cares about the almighty buck. If you wish to switch to a different doctor in the office, you cant, was told it's her or take your business elsewhere. Beter off going to a bum on the street. I have been going to Dr Silverman for over 15 years also and find her to be very thorough, competent, caring. I have always gotten test results back through follow up appts or office calls from her or to her. I would definately recommend her. read more
