Bryani chicken
Stacey G.

My family enjoyed their dinners and agreed on 4 stars, more like a 3 for me. My daughter tried all our entrees and thought her Bryani Chicken ((#38) was the best. I ordered the lamb stew (#36) but don't expect a normal broth-ey stew. It was chunks of beef served on rice. Husband liked his beef and lamb (I think it was # 25). We also paid for an order of nan (not great), and it would've been nice if that was included with our entrées that cost $18+.

Fantastic space with lots of sitting area, cozy little nooks, and crannies to have private conversations, and fun authentic art work. Love the little shopping area with all the spices for sale. Fun local spot with good people serving great food! It's hard to name anything in particular that I like to the most. I will say that the milk tea, falafel's and pistachio baklava was phenomenal! Have to come back for all of those!

Everything 5/5! Food yes, service yes, ambiance yes! Semira yes!! She is the best and made us feel like family. One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Can't wait to come back

The wonderful lady taking my order is the reason I will continue to go back! She was so kind and helpful! She altered my order to make it perfect for what I was looking for! I ordered the Chicken Kabab plate and a side of pickles! Everything was packed full of flavor and the portion was perfect for dinner and lunch the next day! Do not forget to order the garlic sauce! It's delicious!! It is a bit pricy for the small solo cup it comes in ($1.75) but great to put on the chicken! The booth section inside is cute and cozy! It's a larger restaurant inside with adequate space between tables so you won't be bumping into others while dining in. There is also a small market on the one side of the restaurant to be able purchase spices, drinks, tea, and beautiful tea sets!

Inside out: this place is just comfy and cozy and full of exciting things to look at and try. From the outside it may not look very exciting, but I think they've done wonders with the inside for a good environment. Service: here's a place that really earns five stars. I've never had a bad experience. Everyone is incredibly sweet. They didn't know it, but I came there for a comfort meal after we lost one of our pets and I'm pretty sure I looked seven shades of heartbroken, the woman behind the counter brought me out a bite of fresh falafel while I waited and I would be lying if I didn't cry in the car about it after. It was just a solid moment of human kindness. Food: it's seriously my favorite place to get food in Boise and my comfort meal every time. I like getting the mixed salad and the baba ghanoush is to die for. We always grab drinks from the coolers and then look around the grocery for something interesting and new to try, if you like sweets, they've got a lot of good variety! Overall: I think this place would be a great first spot to try new foods if you aren't familiar with them or to go on a fun little grocery trip for snacks to try together!

If you haven't yet, you have to go. We had an amazing dinner! I forgot to take pictures because I couldn't wait to eat!! (I included pics from the menu) We had the Mixed Salad Plate with hummus, saba ganouj, cucumber salad, falafel, pita and an eggplant salad. It came with two dolmas and two falafel so we added a side of 3 falafel and extra tzitziki. We also got an order of kibba potato bites, which had a delicious ground meat filing with warm spices. The food was amazing, generous portions, everything was so flavorful!! The customer service was on point and they were very friendly and encouraged us to come back and talk to the chef, that he would be happy to make a sampler plate of kababs so we could try everything! Well we will definitely be back!! There is a bonus, they have an outstanding selection of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean spices, along with a fun selection of drinks.

Excellent food and service in an attractive restaurant. Plenty of seating for both large groups and intimate booths for two!

Fatoush salad, dolmas, lentil soup

Nice to find a non-American restaurant in Boise! This place is a gem! Welcoming staff, clean and beautifully decorated restaurant with delicious food! I ordered the fatoush salad and dolmas. They also provided a spicy lentil soup on the house. Everything was great!

Good service by my bro

If you are looking for an authentic Iraqi restaurant, you MUST try this place. We loved our private booth to eat at, & the food was amazing. The price is extremely reasonable for the HUGE portion size. The Iraqi sandwich with lamb had the most incredible flavors, the lamb was perfect. It came with a huge amount of delicious French fries drizzled in sauce, 3 sides of dip (one was some kind of garlic butter it was phenomenal) a small salad & delicious hummus to dip your sandwich/ fries in all for $13.99. My husband got a big plate of hummus with lamb & their homemade naan for only $10.. it had so many incredible flavors and was just perfect. We absolutely will be back, you can tell the chef's cook with love.

Great place very close to the airport. The menus has pictures of everything so it is easy to see what you are ordering. The biranyi chicken and salad was great! Of course the jajik was amazing!! The waitress was also very friendly and informative! I would definitely come back if I lived here.

Best Dolma and Shawarma ever! Very relaxing and quiet environment, will be coming back.read more

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant given all the highly positive reviews. To…read morebe clear - this is for the restaurant, not the market. Service - 1 star. After being the only two sitting in the restaurant for 10 minutes, someone brought us menus. Another 10 later, they came back for our order. It was a tad frustrating because an item I wanted to order had a well-worn sticker blocking it out. Placed our food and drink order. Several minutes later, someone different came from the back and said one of the two items was also not available. So another item was chosen. Drinks were not delivered (tea and a water) until the food came 20 minutes later. And the water was a tiny 8-ounce bottle of water. 1.5 hours and we were the only diners. That says something. Food - Of what we could order, the chicken tikka was good but not amazing. 4 stars. The lamb kabob was amazingly bland and tough. So disappointing as I typically love lamb. 2 stars. The hummus was thin and tasted too sour with no flavor dimension to it. Was it old? Better hummus has a slight nutty flavor to it and this needed more garlic. 3 stars. Rice actually had decent flavor. 4 stars. We had both the pistachio and walnut baklava. As a baklava connoisseur, the walnut was far better flavor and texture but both seemed dry and old. Bread was okay. When I look at the number or reviews from those in CA or OR with less than 5 reviews on their account (all giving 5 stars) - it seems clear that people want free baklava or hot tea, as they advertise at the table when you sit down. But they need to read your review first before getting the token item. I have better ethics and higher standards than that. Maybe the restaurant section is on the slide. For a $20 entree, not worth it. There is better in Boise.

I had never had Afghan food before but it was delicious. It reminded me of a middle ground between Indian food and Greek food. There was kebab meat, skewer beef, skewer lamb, but we had it with butter chicken and a huge naan that took up almost half the table! The restaurant seemed to be authentically decorated. They served bottled beverages including the water which we didn't mind. The staff was very friendly. They were kind to my baby and brought a high chair for her. I also noticed they were very thorough on cleaning. I'd recommend this to anyone in Boise.

I ended up order beef kabob, tea, and a lentil dish (since the soup was not available). Food was solid. The portions were a bit off, salad too small, hummus side small, way too much rice, but overall it was tasty. The lentil dish was delicious. The tea was wonderful, and a wonderful portion, but the last cup or so was a bit too steeped and not tasty. Service was interesting. First off I came in, said table for 1, but owner pointed to his stomach and mine and said for 2? I chuckled but I was not expecting this. It was a very laid back service. When I got my tea, I requested a spoon for tea, but he said there already was sugar added. I didn't wanna argue, so I just drank it as is. Overall, solid food. Had a lot of regulars and to go orders. So I was happy with the visit.

I visited Idaho Falafel when it parked was in a lot near my house. The first time I tried to visit,…read morethey had closed early. The second time, I made sure to go earlier in the day. I was very excited to try the falafel in particular, which I had heard great reviews about. I ordered the Gyro Plate with a side of Falafel. Based on the photo menu, I expected the falafel to come with some kind of a dipping sauce. I also ordered a side of garlic sauce for my gyro meat. The owner Mohammed was very friendly and outgoing. I enjoyed speaking with him. There was another gentleman working with him, who was cooking in the back. Mohamed answered all of my questions. One of the things I wanted to know before I ordered was if they were using one of the popular brands of gyro meat such as Kronos, which and you can purchase just about anywhere. I was told they did not. I was impressed to see that this business serves Coke from Mexico. I commented on that to Mohammed, including that I haven't had real Coke since I was a teenager. He insisted on giving me one to drink while I wait. It was excellent! My food came out fairly quickly. I drove home and opened the box to discover that the cook forgot to give me any sauce for my falafel, nor was there any garlic sauce. I really enjoyed the gyro meat. The falafel was pretty good but needed a little more seasoning, as did the hummus. The small salad had good flavor. I did not care for the pita bread. It was very thin and seemed a bit dry. I've been postponing my review in hopes of being able to revisit this business and try some more of their food, but it's been a while since I've seen them around. I'm hoping they will see this review and let me know if they have a new location.
