We appreciated that she didn't try to upsell us and was fine with our minimal taste, gave us options and in the end everything looked amazing. Connie at Tara Florist is a DREAM COME TRUE. She was absolutely amazing to work with and is extremely talented. It started with a consultation and a vision and she ran with it. The flowers could not have been more perfect. I wanted a specific little blue berry in my bouquets and she went to the end of the earth to find them. Even when we thought it couldn't happen she pressed on convincing me that they were a must! In the end I am so glad she did because I got exactly what I was thinking of. The boutonnieres were incredibly and had sprigs of herbs like I had envisioned. Looking back at that element as a foodie I am so glad we incorporated that as well. This place is a gem and you will not be disappointed by the beauty, love and talent that goes into everything they do. My husband randomly picked Tara because it's on his way home from work. He always brings me flowers. We are new to town; having moved to St. Joseph in June. So he was looking for his new go to florist for me. I have to say, I was impressed at first. The flowers are beautiful; and put together with a lovely presentation. With that being said, they sure don't last. My last two bouquets have had a majority of the flowers die in about 2 days. For what he is paying for these arrangements, this is unacceptable! I called regarding an arrangement he bought me last month and they did replace the 3 flowers that died ridiculously quick. However, with proper care you should get at least a week or longer out of a bouquet of flowers, and I should make it clear I know how to take care of fresh flowers. I am meticulous! I trim the stems everyday, at an angle--fresh water daily and flower food--keep cool-no heat. No excess leaves or greens in the water to inhibit bacteria. The arrangement he bought me late Saturday (12/2) was pretty much done as of today (12/6). That's absurd--not even 4 full days. I have had bouquets from grocery stories last longer and look great! I am sad to say we are done with Tara. As much as I LOVE fresh flowers, I'm not going to keep having him buy flowers that are dead within a couple of days. read more

Due to his current location he was unable to call and I had to make all the necessary arrangements. The flowers were divine, she absolutely loved it and his message was written exactly how he wanted. Connie did an incredible job working with our wonderful wedding planner to create the most stunning arrangements. My bouquet was an absolute dream come true. She was given a Pinterest photo of what my "ideal" would be, and she took it to another level! It was amazing and one of my favorite parts of the day. She worked hard to ensure that everything was exactly how I and my planner had imagined, as specific as the requests may have been. This was also all coordinated with me in Kalamazoo and our planner in Grand Rapids. The owners were also present on the Friday before when we arrived for our final review, and they were so kind, introducing themselves to me, but I felt like I already knew them. Meeting Connie for the first time after all the months of working with her over the phone was like seeing an old friend. She gave me a huge hug that made me feel like family, and hugged me again when I stepped out of the floral fridge with happy tears in my eyes while all the employees, our wedding planner, my cousin, and my fiance waited by the door to see my reaction. It was an awesome experience, even if it only lasted 5 minutes. The delivery of the bouquets to our home the morning of the wedding was perfect and everything lasted as long as expected for the flower types chosen. Was completely horrified after receiving a picture of the arrangement my mother got from me for her birthday. When I placed the order, I was very specific. I requested hydrangeas ( with an -s, as in plural, as in more than one) snap dragons, limited fillers and no roses or daisies and please fill in the rest at your own judgement with bright blooms, requested that it be a tall and bright arrangement with pinks, whites and greens. Was shocked that the arrangement contained 3 snap dragons, 4 roses and a single hydrangea, it was pathetic looking for what I paid (150.00). Obviously the florist assumes that the person ordering never sees what they've paid for. Shame on you, Tara Florist. Have heard from many other people that Tara Florist has been a rip off for years, now I can confirm that and won't be using them again. I RECOMMEND YOU USE ANOTHER FLORIST IF YOU DONT LIKE BEING RIPPED OFF!!! read more
