Gringa! Pastor meat with melted Mexican cheese in a flour tortilla.

If you want real Mexican tacos and service, this is the place! Jaziel our waiter was quick and efficient for whatever we needed. We got guacamole, tacos al pastor and a gringa.. wow! So good!!! We took Ruta 1 bus from the hotel zone to get here, so easy! Anyways, do not miss this spot, it was amazing!

This is a super cheap taco stand (I believe it's a small chain, with a couple other locations nearby) in the middle of Cancun. I enjoyed my time here, but I probably won't make the trip all the way out here from the hotel zone just for the tacos. 1) Prices are amazing. Al pastor tacos are just MX$10 (about 60 US cents) each, a complete steal. Other items are slightly pricier, but the tacos are where it's at! Also, you will get an order of free chips and salsa with your meal. My total, with 5 al pastor tacos, chips and salsa, and a bottle of water, was only MX$90 with a tip (about $5 US). 2) While I enjoyed the tacos, I thought they were a bit dry. When you look at most al pastor spits (see my photo below), the meat is usually caramelized and sort of gleams from all the juices; this one did not do that. While the tortillas, condiments, and salsas were all good, the meat itself was just "allright." 3) The service was fast, the view was nice, and the outdoor patio is covered. Even in the humidity, it was a pleasant place to sit for lunch. 4) They have outdoor sinks so you can wash your hands before and after eating! Bottom line: a solid choice for a meal if you are already downtown, but don't come all the way out here from the strip just to eat here.

Like a shawarma, the smell and flames drew me in

After a day at the beach, the city bus from the Cancun Hotel Zone can drop you off here. Take advantage of that and get the rib steak here. It is the best steak i've had in ages and it's worth a repeat visit if I go back. I believe salt was the only seasoning required since the meat itself was just delightful, even the fat was worth chewing over. Other great finds here are the tortilla soup which was a touch lemony as well as the poblano tacos which are only 10 pesos each and let you try that giant spinning meat, which is very similar to a shawarma/doner/gyros It's very fun to soak up the atmosphere here which felt very familial and authentic.

So this place is an amazing find! When you are headed there you may be approached by their waitresses and some from the competing restaurant. El Poblano had a "trompa" of meat that was being prepared for their Tacos Al Pastor. The food is everything you would want the local flavor to be like. The carne asada, chorizo, and pasor tacos were full of flavor. The service here is great. It is fun to sit and enjoy a meal by a busy road that offers such an experience for all of your senses. Enjoy!!

I ordered two tacos al pastor, at 10 pesos each, and they came out within 5 minutes, as we watched the meat as it was freshly sliced off the pastor (if that's what it's called). On top of the meat was a mix of chopped onions and cilantro as well as a few slices of pineapple and lime wedges. To use as extra flavoring, we were provided with salsa verde and what looked like a red habanero sauce in a cute tray. I added both of the sauces liberally onto the taco, as the meat was well flavored by itself. The corn tortillas were slightly warmed, and a good balance of flavor to the toppings. Overall, for only 20 pesos, or about one USD, the tacos were incredible.

Highly recommend their al pastor tacos and ceviche de camaron... Amazing taste. Great place to drink and enjoy authentic Mexican food

I'd give this place zero stars but that isn't an option. This place is terrible! They don't have soap to wash your hands in the restroom or outside sinks. Makes you wonder where the employees wash their hands. The meat was cold and the salsa containers have been sitting out on the table covered in flies for hours. I would definitely avoid this place.

Smuggling food from Cancun to L.A. Best arrachera and al pastor ever!

Best tacos in Cancun. A friend of ours took us there in August. When we came back to Cancun a few weeks ago, we had to eat here again! I even smuggled some tacos, nachos and other food all the way home to L.A.
