The strip is filled with all the american cow manure comforts. Why fly all the way to mexico to feel like you're at home. Go downtown and eat like a local. This place is definitely the truth. Situated right in the welcoming front of Central Cancun, its as authentic Mexican as you can get anywhere in mexico. Order anything here and they'll truly amaze you with the vibrant flavors of real mexico. They have tables, a roof to protect you from the elements, chairs to sit on and beer to drink on. Life is great when you're really dining real local mexican. Two of us shared a medium cevice and the flank steak taco plate. Wash that down with two SOL with lime and salt... HELL YEA!! Mexico is awesome, specially the local stuff. We left the hotel cause were not paranoid of whatever these schizophrenic people say. We didn't get mugged, shot or kidnapped. Oh, I will most definitely be returning here upon my future trips to Cancun. Why? Because this place serves authentic Mexican food that is delicious and cheap and there is nothing better than that combination! I kind of stumbled upon this place while walking around looking for trinkets and souvenirs to bring back home. They do have staff standing in front of the restaurant to usher you in but they are not pushy, which is very nice. They are bilingual here and the owner actually spent time chatting me up before he left. The jokes were nice and welcoming. The menu is extensive and I want to say everything is available on the menu at whatever time you choose to dine. I ordered a pina colada. You get fresh tortilla chips and salsa when you sit down. They were very tasty. I ended up ordering the shrimp soup and i didn't expect it to be anything special but what I received was piping hot, spicy soup chock full of shrimp and served with limes and fresh corn tortillas. The shrimp did have the peel on it but that wasn't off putting to me because they were cooked PERFECTLY!!! Such a great place and cheap too! The music they played was great as well. Went for drinks here. Sign said 2 for 70 pesos. Got our bill and got charged 130 pesos for 2. Gave a lame excuse that the glasses were bigger for the drinks they served us. Don't get ripped off. STAY AWAY. The restaurant beside them El Poblano is great and won't rip you off. We would have been there instead but it was closed for a company function. read more

Good drinks, EXCELLENT food, priced affordable. I highly recommend the Parrillada and the Nachos Mixtos. Waiter Luis is so nice and will make sure your taken care of, good music playing, good micheladas. 10/10 will come back. Serving sizes huge btw. read more

One of the young ladies working there was super sweet! She went above and beyond to meet me halfway my broken spanglish! We ended up ordering a bunch of food. We asked the young lady how many tacos comes in 1 order and she said 5 or 6. We were confused as to why 5 or 6 because they usually came in 3. We thought that she was the one who was confused with our question so we ended up ordering 2 different types of tacos - al pastor and arrachera. Boy, we were wrong! We should have listened to her cause we ended up having to eat about 12 tacos PLUS our fried fish entrees. I gained like 10 lbs but no regrets though! read more

This is an excellent choice for local lunch or dinner.. I understand it's open 24 hours. Get out of your all inclusive and go eat some real local food we had the fresh whole fish with garlic sauce as well as some ceviche octopus and very fresh shrimp all excellent you're not going to get this at your hotel. Also they are gracious enough to give you a free drink on the house which I thought was a nice touch. The food was fresh served hot and it was delicious I highly recommend! Outstanding! read more

I offered a beef fajita and my bf offered a rib-eye steak. We didn't have high expectation on this restaurant coz it looks more like a food stall. The staff can rarely speak English. I am trying to rack my brain as to a place that I've patroned that has worse food! I'm sure there has been one out there after traveling to 30 different countries but I can't recall. This has to be in the top five unfortunate restaurants. Anyway, we drove by and saw tons of people eating and since our tummies were feeling the hurt we decided to try it out. As soon as we walked by we realized that there were actually two restaurants and we got hounded by a bunch of waitresses and a waiter that were using hard sell tactics to invite us to their restaurants. We decided to try this one out. Big mistake! We decided on a meat platter shared by the three of us which came out in a grill. The food was already cold and the meat was as dry as the Sahara desert. No flavor either. On top of this the waitresses did not even bring out the normal condiments that are typical of a Mexican restaurant like onion, cilantro, salsa and etc. One waitress even brought out a drink that we did not order but we decided to keep it anyways. Take home point. Don't come here unless you want horrible food and service. read more
